Chapters 108. Meet Grandpa

The atmosphere of the morning looked beautiful, as beautiful as the face of Lilis who began to enjoy her cooking activities in her old house. Accompanied by her husband who helped her make their children's favorite food. Occasionally, a small kiss, adds to the beautiful atmosphere this morning.

When breakfast was ready, Nathan and Lilis rushed to the dining room to place it on the table. And it turned out that their children had finished their baths and were waiting at the dinner table. They seemed happy, because today, they were going to go to Mbah Uthi's tomb and meet their great-grandfather.

With happy hearts, they enjoyed their favorite breakfast. After finishing breakfast and cleaning the tableware, they immediately set off towards the grave of grandmother as their first destination.

At Grandma's grave, Naina looked very sad but also happy. Saddened that Naina has lost her Mbah Uthi forever. And happy because now Naina can visit grandma's grave after a long time away.

Lilis gave her children the opportunity to get to know their grandmother even if only by looking at her grave. They were given the opportunity to talk to grandma, even though their grandmother would never be able to listen to what they were saying.

Seeing Nathan anxious, Lilis asks her children to stay in the car.

"Mas, take it easy I'll be with you. I'll hold your hand when you lose your way. I'm willing to be your guide if you don't feel like you know where you're going. Forget what ever happened between you. As a younger person, apologizing first is a better thing to fix what has happened between you" Lilis said, holding her husband's hand and trying to strengthen her heart.

"Yes, you're right. I will apologize first because I was too carried away by my emotions" Nathan replied with a smile.

"Have you been down, mother?" ask Naina.

"Just a minute, baby. I'm opening the door for you guys" said Lilis.

Nathan and Lilis slowly get out of the car. Then Lilis opened the car door for her three children who immediately went out to see the atmosphere of the hospital.

In front of the hospital, Thunder was already waiting for him with his son and wife. For a moment, they greeted each other, hugged each other and introduced their children. After that, they together headed for Grandpa Edward's treatment room. Thunder went in to tell Nathan and his family to Grandpa.

Not long after, Thunder came out and asked Nathan to enter alone to meet Grandpa.

"Nathan, Grandpa wants to see you alone. Maybe there's something Grandpa wants to tell you" Thunder said.

"I came here with my wife and children. I wanted to go in and see Grandpa together" Nathan said disappointedly.

"But Grandpa just wants to see you" Thunder said again.

"Mas, stop. Just go in, I'm fine. Me and the children were outside with Sita and Guntur" Lilis said with a smile.

"Can't, Lis. I'm coming here because of you. If Grandpa doesn't want to meet you and the kids, it's free to go in to apologize if the results will be the same as before" Nathan said emotionally.

"No, Mas. All struggles will have their results. Perhaps, it used to be that our love struggles were lacking and we failed to reach Grandpa's heart. There's a saying 'trying won't betray results'. May this time, God give you what you wanted long ago, the sincere blessing of Grandpa. I've been lucky to be loved by Mas Nathan. Never had to worry about my poverty. Otherwise, maybe I'll get divorced for being poor like I used to be. Come in, and give us the results we want" Lilis said cheering her husband on.

"alright. Hopefully what we're fighting for, we'll get today" Nathan said.

Lilis releases her husband's hand and lets Nathan into Grandpa Edward's treatment room. Nathan approaches Grandpa Edward with a smile at the arrival of his beloved grandson.

"Grandfather, don't move much" Nathan said as he moved quickly to help Grandpa slightly straighten up.

"Nathan, Grandpa is so happy that you came and met Grandpa" said Grandpa slowly.

"Grandfather, Nathan is sorry, because Nathan used to be so emotional and would not listen to Grandpa's defense. Though Grandpa is not necessarily guilty," said Nathan felt guilty

"You're getting older, Nathan. Until now, Grandpa would still say, if it wasn't Grandpa's. Thank you for coming back."

"Grandfather, all because of Lilis. He brought me back to Grandpa, like 3 years ago."

"Grandfather wants to thank your wife. But I want to talk to four of them" Grandpa said, surprising Nathan.

"But, Cake ...."

"You don't have to worry and worry. Grandpa won't do anything bad to your wife. Twice, he was able to get you back to Grandpa, if Grandpa still didn't approve of you, wouldn't you consider Grandpa cruel?" said Grandpa stammered.

"Grandfather, Nathan will call Lilis. He will be very happy" Nathan said, full of happiness.

Nathan rushes out and meets Lilis who is still anxiously waiting for him.

"Darling, Grandpa wants to have a four-eye talk with you. But if you're afraid, you don't have to see him" Nathan said, holding Lilis' hand.

"No, Mas. Lilis was not afraid. Lilis must be brave, if we want our wishes to be achieved. There's Mas Nathan, what is Lilis afraid of?" lilis said holding tightly onto her husband's hand.

"Good luck," Nathan kissed Lilis on the forehead.

Lilis stepped slowly opening the door of Grandpa's treatment room. He paused for a moment with a long sigh and then walked back to Grandpa Edward who seemed to close his eyes. I don't know what Grandpa was thinking. Pretending to be asleep or deliberately trying to play tricks on him. Those bad thoughts suddenly appeared, but Lilis was prepared with all the worst possibilities though.

Slowly, Grandfather made his eyes and looked at Lilis with a sad look.

"Lilis, come here" Grandpa called slowly.

Lilis sat near Grandpa with mixed feelings.

"Lilis, Grandpa, I'm sorry for everything Grandpa's ever done to you. But, about your mother's accident, Grandpa didn't do that at all" Grandpa said sadly.

"Grandfather, Lilis never blamed Grandpa. What happened was already the lifeline Lilis had to accept," Lilis said with a sigh.

"You're a very kind and sincere woman. Grandpa also thanked me for bringing Nathan back for the second time. From now on, you are Grandpa's daughter-in-law's granddaughter. I'm sorry Grandpa was late in realizing that you're worth more than the treasure Grandpa has. This treasure cannot make Grandpa smile, but your presence can make Grandpa smile. Bring my great-granddaughter here. I want to see their smiles" Grandpa said at length.

Lilis shed tears hearing that her presence could make Grandpa smile. Lilis came out and called her children in. Meanwhile, Nathan receives a phone call from the police station which suddenly makes Nathan scream in shock.
