Chapter 47. Disappointed with Grandpa's attitude

Grandpa Edward came with Nathan. Apparently Grandpa had decided to tell Nathan about the whereabouts of Thunder who claimed to be the son of Nathan's father. Nathan won't talk much, before there's a DNA test they're about to do.

Nathan was shocked when he saw Desta was with Thunder. Nathan's feelings became uneasy and a suspicious feeling suddenly seeped into his heart. However, Nathan did not show it in front of Grandpa.

Moments later, a doctor came in and asked Grandpa and Thunder to come in for a DNA test. Nathan DNA Desta sat far apart while waiting for them to come out.

Nathan's eyes occasionally looked at Desta. His ex-wife's husband seems to hold a deep grudge. Nathan will never be afraid of Desta.

Grandfather and Thunder had already come out and they looked at each other. Thunder nodded his head before Thunder and Desta stepped away. I don't know what they have in mind, only they know. Grandpa Edward just smiled at Thunder.

Grandpa and Nathan also followed their steps to get home soon. Along the way, Nathan and Grandpa just keep quiet and get immersed in each other's thoughts.

"Nathan, if it were proven that he was your father's son, what would you do?" ask Grandpa after they get to Grandpa's house.

"What does Grandpa mean? Had he been proven a father's son, he would have been my brother" Nathan replied.

"Grandfather was so afraid you'd hate your father or Grandpa. Because Grandpa caused all these events," Grandpa said looking sad.

"Grandfather, don't blame yourself. It's all been a long time. If Grandpa regrets and continues to feel guilty, then Grandpa is the same as regretting Nathan's existence. Because Nathan is from Grandpa's fault" Nathan said.

"Grandfather didn't mean it that way, Nathan. Grandpa just pityes him and his mother. All this time they had to live a difficult life.

"Nathan knows, all this time Grandpa lived in regret for making you unhappy. Nathan doesn't know that the relationship between father and mother is not like marriage in general. But Nathan salutes me, because he keeps his commitment with his mother" Nathan said with a deep sigh.

"Grandfather, wants to make up for Grandpa's mistake with him. Grandfather wanted him to also be able to feel what his father had built long ago."

"Nathan will never get in the way of Grandpa's wishes. Do whatever makes Grandpa no longer feel guilty. In fact, I'll give it all up if need be."

"It's not like that Nathan. You misunderstood. Grandfather will never take what you already have. Just, let him be with you to learn to manage his father's business," Grandpa Edward explained to Nathan not to get angry.

Nathan hurried to leave Grandpa who was still carried away by the feeling of Thunder. Nathan harbors a deep sense of sadness over Grandpa's attitude this time around. In the past, maybe Grandpa only loved him because there were no other grandchildren, but now, there is a possibility that he has another grandchild.

Nathan returns home feeling sad and hurt, but he doesn't want to make Lilis and her mother-in-law worry. That's why he hid his feelings for a while until he was able to tell Lilis.

"Wa'alaikum hail... Just got home, Mom? How's Grandpa doing?" lilis asked as she kissed her husband's hand and followed him to a seat.

"Grandfather is fine. For a while we didn't have to go to Grandpa's house. So, from now on, I'll hitchhike at your house."

"What are you talking about, ma'am. My house is your home too" Lilis said, holding her husband's hand.

"My wife, what if I fall poor and have nothing. Do you still want to live with me?" ask Nathan.

"I didn't choose you because you had a lot of money. But because you can give me a sense of security, and a sense of being protected as a woman. It's not like I pray bad for you. However, I wish you were born into a normal family like me. So I don't need to adjust much," Lilis said with a smile.

"Thank you for choosing me and believing I can give you a sense of security and protection. In the future I will be a husband that you, mother and Naina can rely on. Whatever my circumstances," Nathan assured Lilis.

"Mas, thank you for renovating the Lilis food stall and for buying all the land. That way, Lilis will be calmer and unencumbered by the cost of rent," Lilis said as she gave a friendly kiss on her husband's cheek.

"That's because you refused a wedding gift that I've prepared for you a long time ago."

"It's not so, Mom. I'm not resisting, a new restaurant gift from you. But I don't want my customers to be disappointed. They were friends who accompanied me when I was in trouble. They come to enjoy my cooking every day. If I switch to a restaurant, they won't come there, because they won't feel comfortable."

"I understand, but you're still the owner of that restaurant. I talked about this with Wendi. He's willing to take care of your new restaurant with Sri" Nathan said.

"So, they agreed to stay in this town? Thankfully, I was the one who wanted to talk about this with them. But, it's the same."

"Would you see Sri what Wendi is?" nathan asked jealous.

"Oh, Nathan, that's what he said. Look at me," Lilis said as she wrapped her hands around Nathan's neck.

Nathan gulped because he saw Lilis's face so close. It's still afternoon, so Nathan doesn't want himself to be caught up by his own passion. Moreover, Lilis began to bring her face closer, Nathan immediately felt her body parts stiffen. Nathan panicked, he immediately took off Lilis' hand and kissed her forehead and left.

"I have to take a shower" Nathan said with a smile.

Nathan couldn't lie to his heart, if Lilis started to get spoiled and act romantic, his maleness soul would appear instantly. Nathan must be able to hold back. It's good if it happens while they're both in bed. But if it happens during the day and places that are not supposed to, can berabe.

Lilis could only smile and take a deep breath looking at her husband's behavior.

Lilis started preparing dinner and hoped that someone would help her prepare the dish. But today Naina and Bu Siti are going to the house of Bu RT for friendship. Lilis is happy because, seeing that mother and Naina no longer live the shortcomings and hardships that they once did. They can play, and gather with other neighbors and enjoy a wonderful old age.

A warm hug was felt by Lilis. The smell of the husband, spreading and piercing his nose.

"Why cook while daydreaming?" nathan asked quietly.

"Just remember the past."

"Don't always remember the past. Do you want to make me jealous?"

"I just want to be more grateful. Then and now it is very different. And it turns out, now it's better. So I should be thankful that God doesn't take back what I have right now."

"I have plans to go to the beach. Maybe in a week. So, you have to make preparations" Nathan said, kissing Lilis on the cheek.

"Naina, mom?" tanya Lilis stopped her activities.

"Of course they come. They also need entertainment. Naina can play sand there. He'll be so happy."

"Thank you, Mom. You haven't forgotten them" Lilis said slowly.

Lilis thanked him for being given a man who was not only kind, rich and considerate. But also being able to love Mom and Naina sincerely even though Naina is not her flesh and blood.
