Divorced for Poor
Chapters 109. The man behind the accident

"What ... there are people who claim to hit mom!" nathan shouted in shock.

"Well, we'll be there soon" said Nathan, who immediately turned off his phone call.

Nathan sighed and could hardly believe any of this.

"Nathan, what's going on?" tanya Guntur curious.

"There was a man who turned himself in to the police station and confessed that he was the one who hit my mother-in-law. I want to leave immediately, to find out if he accidentally hit mom or just an accident," Nathan replied excitedly.

"But now you're with Grandpa. Let Grandpa enjoy his happiness today. Just go to the police station tomorrow, okay?" thunder Pinta.

"alright. Today, let it be Grandpa's happy day. Thank you, because you have been sincerely looking after Grandpa as long as I am not beside him," Nathan said as he hugged Thunder.

"He was also my grandfather" said Guntur.

"I went in to see my grandfather and my children. You guys wanna come in?" nathan asked with a smile.

"No. You guys settle down with Grandpa. We have been with Grandpa for many years, Grandpa must be tired of seeing us" said Guntur.

"Don't talk like that" Nathan said as he stared at Thunder.

"I'm just kidding, don't be so serious."

"alright. I go in first" said Nathan.

Nathan opened the door and smiled to see his three children laughing with Grandpa.

"Kids, you don't want to go home?" nathan asked as he approached them .

"Mas, who called?" tanya Lilis was curious.

"not nobody. You guys don't bother Grandpa, let Grandpa rest" Nathan told his kids.

"Dad, we didn't bother Grandpa. Isn't that right, Cake?" Naina said.

"Grandfather said to me, we don't bother Grandpa" said Wahyu.

"Nathan, they didn't bother Grandpa, they made Grandpa laugh until he forgot Grandpa was sick" Edward said.

"Alright then, you go on. I'm sitting there with mom."

Nathan invited Lilis to sit on a chair not far from Grandpa's bed. Nathan kept the secret until they got home.

At home, Nathan waited for nightfall to talk about what he had heard from the police.

"Darling, tomorrow I want to take you to the police station" Nathan said as he watched Lilis' reaction.

"Why go to the police station, Mas," asked Lilis curiously.

"So, there was news from the police station, if someone turned himself in and claimed to have hit the mother" Nathan said slowly.

"What, did he admit that he was on purpose?" tanya Lilis was curious.

"No, Mas. I've accepted mother's departure, since the beginning. I've accepted it as my life's destiny" Lilis said with a sigh.

"I know, we'd better get some sleep. Tomorrow we must leave with a calm heart."

***

The next day, Nathan and Lilis leave their three children to Wendi and Sri. After that, they went to the police station. During the journey, they seemed to be carried away in their respective feelings. No words came out of the mouths of the two.

After arriving at the police station, they alighted and immediately asked the police to bring them together with the man.

They waited in a closed room with an unsettled heart. Although from the beginning, they have tried to calm the heart, but when going directly to face the person who hit Bu Siti makes it difficult for them to achieve that sense of calm.

Waiting for a few moments, a policeman came carrying a man with his hands in handcuffs. To their great surprise, the handcuffed man was the doctor Pradipta.

"Doctor Pradipta?!" nathan and Lilis said at the same time.

Officers leave, doctor Pradipta with Nathan and Lilis. Lilis clasped him tightly in her husband's hand to make him bis hold back the emotions that began to accumulate in her heart.

"I apologize to you both for what I did to your family" said Pradipta.

"Doctor, why did the doctor turn himself in without talking to us first" Nathan asked.

"I cannot bear the weight of regret when I see you as soon as I accept everything that happens, as a destiny that must happen. You are able to rise, even with such a severe wound in your heart. You can encourage and remind each other to surrender to God. I am ashamed, to myself," said Dr. Pradipta as he shed a round of tears which he rubbed with his hand.

"May, Lilis know, is it true that the Doctor did that on purpose?" asked Lilis while sobbing.

"really. I did that to you guys on purpose. Originally my goal was you, Lilis."

"What, me, why?" lilis' hand clasped her husband's hand even tighter.

"Because I hate Nathan's father, Samuel. The one who has taken my love and my lover Ririn. I cannot reply to Samuel, but I can repay you. I want Nathan to feel a sense of loss too, like what I felt when I lost Ririn. It hurts, and I don't want to be sick alone" Dr. Pradipta said. "But I didn't expect your mother to sacrifice herself for you, Lilis. Your mother's love also makes me sad and sorry."

"Doctor Pradipta. Since our first meeting on the anniversary of Revelation, is it not a coincidence?" nathan asked suspiciously.

"really. I deliberately approached you, to make a plan" replied Dr. Pradipta.

"Didn't the doctor know, plotting a murder is so severe? Didn't the Doctor think of that before acting?" ask Nathan. "If the doctor loves my mother, the doctor will let you be happy even with someone else."

"I knew. But back then, my grudge had left my heart numb. The way of loving that I choose has made love hate. Again, I apologize to you and your children. I have separated them from their grandmother" said the doctor.

"We can forgive what Doctor Pradipta did, but we can't help Doctor to be free from the law" Lilis said with a sigh.

"It's okay. I chose to accept this punishment, so that my guilt would disappear. There's no need to feel guilty" Pradipta said.

After the conversation ended," Dr. Pradipta was brought back by the officer.

While Lilis and Nathan embrace each other because the puzzle of her mother's death has opened the truth. Grandpa wasn't involved and it could be closer between Grandpa and Nathan.

Someone who has done evil, in the eyes of society will be stamped as a person who continues to do wrong. Although that is not necessarily his act. While the person we think is good, not necessarily he is a good person. It might even hold a thorn in his heart that we don't know.
