The Casa Del Castaneda
Opening Cases

“Sebastian,” greet a man with several badges attached to his uniform. “What brought you here?” ask the man full of authority. He hugged Sebastian warmly, like a friend who had not met for a long time.

“How are you, Abelardo?” Sebastian patted the back of a man named Abelardo earlier. She reciprocated the warm attitude that the man had shown her.

“You see for yourself. I'm old and mustachioed,” said Abelardo accompanied by laughter. The copper-haired brunette with many badges earlier, invited Sebastian to sit down together.

“Don't talk old trouble, buddy. We are one force. If you're old, then I'm old, ” Sebastian protested, with a relaxed-sounding tone.

Sebastian's words earlier, made Abelardo again chuckle. “Yes, you're right. I forgot if our age is only one month adrift,” he said. Abelardo corrected the sitting position. “So, what brought this landlord to come here ?” ask the man with the thick mustache.

Sebastian did not answer immediately. He rubbed his chin with a thin beard that shaved neatly. The handsome forty-year-old man seemed to be arranging the words to be conveyed to Abelardo.

“Can I know who is handling the accident case at Porcuna border?” I asked Sebastian a few moments later.

“Why are you interested in that?” Instead of answering, Abelardo asked back.

“It's okay. I just want to know. After all, Rafael Hernandez was a former colleague of mine. You must know Tatiana Vidal. Female entrepreneur from Seville,” explained Sebastian.

“What does this have to do with Tatiana?” abelardo asked, raising one eyebrow.

“Rafael Hernandez is the husband of Tatiana Vidal,” Sebastian replied.

Abelardo laughed at hearing that. He shakes in disbelief. “To my knowledge, her husband's name is Elazar Ganimedes Blanco. The famous construction entrepreneur.”

Sebastian was silent for a moment, before responding to Abelardo's remarks. A moment later, the forty-year-old handsome man nodded slowly. “You're right. They divorced after ...” Sebastian paused his words. He's back to thinking. “How about the accident?”

Abelardo exhaled a long breath with complaints. He fixed his sitting position. The man with the thick mustache clucked while shaking his head many times.

“First, there is not a crowded line. No CCTV cameras were installed, as it included an alternative line. We believe that the accident was not a single accident. However, the lack of evidence obtained, makes us difficult to develop this case,” explained Abelardo.

“Oh, can't be so,” protest Sebastian. “This has become the responsibility of the agency you headed. I want you to keep investigating this case until it's over,” pinta the landlord put on a serious look.

Abelardo looked doubtful before giving an answer. He must think carefully, before making a decision. “We have closed this case and consider that it was a single accident,”.

“It definitely takes a long time to be able to uncover this case, without any clear evidence and eyewitnesses.”

“You are wrong to say that there are no clear witnesses,” Sebastian firmly denies. “Wife Rafael Hernandez survived the crash. He was convinced that someone was trying to harm them. Worse, Rafael Hernandez's wife made the accusation against me,” Sebastian said.

What Sebastian said just now, made Abelardo frown. He did not understand the real problem. “Why does wife Rafael Hernandez think so?” asked the copper-haired brunette man full of probes.

Now, it's Sebastian's turn to be confused to explain everything that has happened, between him, Paloma, and Rafael. He could not possibly describe his love story that did not end beautifully with Paloma, because the woman preferred to return to Rafael.

“There is one problem I cannot explain to you. However, the point is I just want to prove, that I have nothing to do with the accident that befell the couple. As my best friend, I'm sure you can help straighten this out. My good name and my pride are at stake, if Rafael Hernandez's wife goes ahead and tries to fight me.” Sebastian exhaled a rough breath.

Abelardo. He could understand the silence of his old friend. “As long as you are in the right position, then you should not feel riled up.”

However, Abelardo actually returned to laughing, after hearing a protest speech aired by Sebastian. “You don't have to worry. As your friend and also the state apparatus which is obliged to prove the truth, I will open this case again. We will continue the investigation which was delayed yesterday,” said Abelardo confidently.

“Actually, this is a case that definitely provides a lot of challenges. L like it. However, because the other party felt unsure .. ah no. We shouldn't feel unsure of the truth. You're right, Sebastian. I have to finish it.”

Sebastian was relieved when he heard Abelardo's words. At least, he had one support beyond what he would do later. Sebastian, of course, will not be silent and just be a spectator waiting for the show to end.

After a few short pleasantries with Abelardo, the largest landlord in Porcuna decided to leave. He then returned to Casa del Castaneda.

Upon arrival at the magnificent plantation house, Sebastian immediately headed to the workspace.

The beautiful Leandra immediately greeted with a warm and sweet smile. The woman has been serving Sebastian for a long time, because of his reliable performance. Leandra often gives more attention outside of work. A small example would be asking if Sebastian had breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

“The waiters have prepared a special lunch menu for you, Sir,” said Leandra softly, as Sebastian just threw his body on the seat of his greatness.

“I'm not hungry, Leandra. You're the one who ate,” Sebastian said while opening the cigar box. He took a stick, then cut off the end. As if not assume the existence of Leandra, Sebastian was engrossed in burning the tip of the cigar with an automatic match.

“To know, you did not have time to eat breakfast when leaving Casa del Castaneda,”, Leandra said again.

Hearing this, Sebastian stopped his activities. He stared fixedly at the beautiful woman, who was also looking at him.

Leandra becomes misbehaved, as Sebastian continues to look at her. “A-is there something wrong with me, Mister?” leandra asked nervously.

“Thank you for your concern, but you don't have to bother. For years I lived alone and felt comfortable with this situation,” Sebastian replied without stripping off his authority.

Cuban cigars of superior quality that have been burned earlier cause smoke. Sebastian sucked it with his eyes closed. He enjoyed the scent of tobacco, which filled his oral cavity and nose.

“Bu-not so I mean, Mr.” Leandra became increasingly misbehaved. He tucked some hair behind his ear. “During this, my attention has always been sincere to you, Sir," he said.

“I have no doubt about Leandra. That's why I chose you to be my trust assistant.” Sebastian has a charming smile. Make Leandra's cheeks meet red. The woman was already about to respond to the words of the master, when Sebastian suddenly turned his chair so that he turned his back to Leandra.

Sebastian turned his attention to the large window, which featured a stretch of his olive grove. “You can go, Leandra. Have lunch first. I want to be alone for a moment without being disturbed by anyone,” said the landlord.

“Good, Sir,” said Leandra who looked a little disappointed. He nodded, then left Sebastian alone as he wished.

Sebastian turned his head to make sure Leandra had completely left his room. After being convinced that there was no one but him, Sebastian picked up a mobile phone lying on the table. He called Martin.

Not long after, the call was connected.

“How can I help you, sir? I can go to the workspace right now,” Martin replied without waiting for Sebastian to speak.

“Not necessary. I just wanted to tell you to check the CCTV footage that's on two sides of the front gate. Search and download footage on the same day as the Paloma crash,” tells Sebastian.
