For almost two weeks, Paloma was admitted to Granada City hospital. During that time, Theresa always accompanied the mother of Luz Maria.
Meanwhile, Luz Maria with her nanny named Kalida. They occupy a house that Rogelio deliberately rented. It is not too far from the hospital, so Rogelio can go home easily. The middle-aged man was so painstaking. He showed his responsibility, as a good father and grandfather.
Usually, Rogelio comes in the afternoon to replace Theresa. But something was different about that day. The middle-aged man said that Luz Maria did not want to be left behind. Theresa waited for Paloma until the next day.
Fortunately, because Alonzo is very understanding. The man even came to see Paloma almost every day, before he went to sell.
“Thank you, Auntie. I'm troubling you again this time,” said Paloma unwell. He just finished changing clothes. Theresa had even fed Paloma. After two weeks of treatment, Paloma was able to communicate, even though his body was still attached to several medical devices. Moreover, because he had been in a coma for eleven days.
“Already, Nak.” Theresa sat on the edge of the bed. “You are the daughter I never had. I'm happy to be able to get through this togetherness again with you, after all these years have passed. Although, I don't like everything that has happened.” Theresa touched Paloma's pretty face. He wiped away the tears, which began to flood the brown haired woman's cheeks.
“I lost again, Aunty,” isak Paloma. “God is back to take someone I love.” The slow whip earlier, over time turned into a heartbreaking groan. Paloma cried for some time. No matter how much he braced himself, but the pain could not be removed easily.
Paloma was used to Rafael's presence. I don't know what he's going to be like this time. If Rafael left without saying goodbye, Paloma could still search until he found him. But, another with now. He will not be able to find Rafael again, even though he searches to the bottom of the deepest ocean.
“Turn your heart, Son. This must have felt heavy. However, rest assured that God is preparing a much more beautiful plan. I'm certain. Someday, you'll get real happiness.”
Theresa again wiped away the rushing tears, drenching Paloma's pretty face. “Already, do not cry again,” whispered the middle-aged woman, after a knock on the door. Theresa immediately walked up to the door, then opened it not too wide.
“Good day,” greet a man. “I want to see the state of Paloma,” said the man again.
Theresa was silent for a moment. He watched the foreign man before him from head to toe. “Whose you?” ask the slightly fat woman.
The man did not answer immediately. The look in his eyes implied doubt. He then saw a bunch of red roses he was carrying.
Theresa looked inside, at Paloma who was lying staring out the window. “In the meantime, Mr.” said after turning his attention back to the man who was still standing upright, at the front door of the treatment room.
“Paloma, someone wants to meet you,” said Theresa asked for permission first.
“Who, Aunty?” ask Paloma lethargic.
“I,” replied the man who went straight in.
“How are you doing now, Paloma?” sebastian asked with his gaze fixed on the beautiful woman, who was lying pitifully on the hospital treatment bed.
“Do you see me okay?” Paloma asked back with a sharp tone and as if insinuating.
“Well, I'll excuse you,” interrupted Theresa. “I'm outside if you need anything,” the message to Paloma who responded with a weak nod. Theresa smiled kindly at Sebastian, even though she didn't know him. The middle-aged woman then left the treatment room, leaving Paloma alone with her guests.
“Cubabakan this flower for you,” said Sebastian as he stepped near the bed. He placed the flowers he was carrying on the table next to the bed. “I heard about the accident that happened to you a few days ago. I am also very sorry for the departure of Rafael,”, Sebastian said with a look of pity at Paloma.
The beautiful face of Luz Maria's mother was covered with wounds. The woman's head was bandaged. Near the eyes there is a fairly clear bruise, which is caused by a hard impact. So is the corner of his lips.
"You must be in pain" said Sebastian gently. He sat on the edge of the bed, with his body facing Paloma. "Everything will improve soon" said the man again slowly.
"I don't need your sympathies, Mr. Castaneda. What are you gonna do here? Don't you want to see my face and Rafael's forever?" Paloma's tone was so cynical to Sebastian. Hatred emanated clearly from the glare of his sharp eyes.
"Are you satisfied, Sebastian?" asked Paloma coldly. "You won't see Rafael's face again. It's a pity, though, that you can still see my face. Maybe, after this you'll see me more and more." Paloma said with great emphasis. Another meaning was implied in his words earlier.
"I'm glad to see you more often" Sebastian replied, "but I don't understand the meaning of the words you said earlier." Sebastian stood up from his seat. However, the man's gaze was still fixed on Paloma. Wonder and curiosity mixed into one.
"Do you not understand or deliberately pretend to be stupid, Mr Sebastian Cruz Castaneda?" Paloma's tone has not changed. Staying cynical as it is towards the enemy.
"No, Paloma." Sebastian is shaking. "Do you think that I ...."
"You are a criminal!" shouts Paloma. Suddenly, he was hysterical. "You are a thousand times more savage than Raphael!" Paloma shouted back. The woman vented all her anger.
"Your words are unwarranted" Sebastian argued. He tried not to be provoked by Paloma's attitude and harsh words.
"There need be no reason to lay it out in front of you! It's all clear! You deliberately invited us to Casa del Castaneda ...."
"I told you that I never invited Rafael." Sebastian again denied the allegations made by Paloma against him.
"Please take out all your excuses, Mr. Sebastian Cruz Castaneda! One thing for sure is, God keeps letting me live so you can keep seeing my face. Yep! You'll see it more often, because I swear to avenge you!" paloma.
