“Rafael Hernadez?” reset Martin.
“Ya,” Paloma replied reassuringly that the man in front of her had indeed not heard wrong.
“Rafael Hernandez?” Martin again called out that name while muttering. It was as if he was remembering something. Every now and then, the handsome man with the yellow ivory fedora hat touched the base of his pointed nose. “I'll find his name on the plantation worker's list. However, while I was doing that .. I mean it's night now .. you ...” Martin watched Paloma who was still lowered. “It takes time to check the names of workers whose numbers are not small,” said the man again.
Paloma immediately raised his face after hearing Martin's words. He looks disappointed. “Can't you do it now, Mister?” the door was half pushy.
“Sorry. Can't do. I'm busy, Miss,” Martin refused.
“Jam like this?” Paloma scrunched his forehead. The look on his face implied a sense of wonder.
“Yes. It's night,” Martin replies. “I work all day in the plantation. Take care of a lot of things. Now is the time to rest,” firmly the man.
“Come, Sir. Please,” pinta Paloma. The young lady put on a hardened face.
“I really need your help,” said Paloma again in earnest.
“You came here by infiltrating among the workers. You're not willing to work here either. Now, you asked me to do something suddenly and .. listen, Miss de Luna.” Martin spoke in a quite serious tone. “Mr Sebastian won't like your presence here. So, before you put yourself in trouble, I suggest you leave Casa del Castaneda right now.”
“I will definitely leave, but after finding information about the person I was looking for. Please, Mister. It relates to my future ...” Paloma paused his speech. He doesn't have to talk much.
Meanwhile, Martin could only exhale deeply. Actually, this was the thing that he disliked the most about a woman. The face with adorable eyes as shown by Paloma, is something that makes him always feel unbearable. Moreover, the woman in front of him turned out to be very beautiful if observed more carefully.
Martin took off the yellow ivory fedora hat earlier. The man ruffled his slightly sweaty hair while clucking softly. There is always an exception for a beautiful woman. By force, he finally complied with Paloma's request. “Follow me,” take her.
The man with the checkered shirt stepped first into another part of the magnificent building. He carried Paloma across the fountain garden which was in the middle of the building. From the park with a size not too broad earlier, Martin walked down a fairly long corridor. While Paloma continued to follow him while carrying a cloth bag containing several strands of change of clothes.
After walking down the long corridor earlier, the two of them arrived in front of a three-story building with many rooms. It was a special message for plantation workers and some administrative staff.
“Please wait here,” message Martin. He left Paloma who was standing near the stairs towards the second floor. Martin walked into a room. He seemed to be talking to the occupant of the room. After a while, Martin and the man in the room walked down. They approached Paloma who was still standing near the stairs.
“Include. It's Antonio. He handles all information and other matters related to the workers here.” Martin introduced the man next to him to Paloma.
Paloma nodded slowly accompanied by a small smile in return that was considered polite.
“This is Miss de Luna. He's here to find someone named Rafael Hernandez,” Martin said, turning his attention to Antonio.
“Rafael Hernandez?” repeated Antonio. The man with the same age range as Martin was frowning his thick brows. “Rafael Hernandez,” repeat. The man also seemed to think. Paloma and Martin are still waiting for the answer the man will give. “When does he start working here?” antonio asked after thinking for a while.
“About five years ago,” Paloma replied.
“Five years ago?” reset Martin.
“How?” martin asked, looking back at Antonio.
Antonio breathed a heavy breath. “Lima last year. It's been a while. I've only been working here for about three years. That means, I have to open old files. As I recall, in the current data of the plantation worker .. there does not seem to be any name Rafael Hernandez, the bright” of the dark-haired man is a bit doubtful.
“Are you sure?” ask Martin again.
“Normally, we update workers every year. Old workers whose age is considered no longer productive will be replaced with new ones. That's all after going through a very tight selection, because we don't want to carelessly break someone's employment contract. Unless, if the person himself resigns,” explains Antonio.
Paloma fell silent for a moment after listening to Antonio's explanation. “Can if you check it now, Mister?” pinta woman while again putting the same look as in front of Martin earlier.
“Sorry, Miss. It's already outside working hours,” reject Antonio smooth.
“Please,” pinta Paloma half urgent.
Antonio looked at Martin. He asked the foreman for his opinion. Coincidentally, Martin was the one who held the keys to the important rooms there.
“You are really troublesome, Miss,” complained Martin as he passed near the stairs, where they were talking earlier. He walked to another corner that was separated from the three-story building. There are four rooms. Martin then unlocked one of the doors at the very end.
While Antonio and Paloma who followed the young foreman, immediately entered after Martin turned on the room lights with a size not too large. Inside, there are several wooden cabinets and buffets with stacked drawers. There are three computers on a separate table.
Antonio, get to one of the computers he used to use. The man with a typical Latin face looks serious facing the screen that has been lit. For a while, Paloma and Martin waited for Antonio to check the list of workers.
“I should have taken a shower and prepared for dinner this time,” Martin complained.
“Sorry, because it has troubled you,” said Paloma felt bad about Martin's words.
However, the man who continued to hold the fedora hat did not respond. Martin looks very tired. “How?” ask her while walking closer to Antonio's desk.
“I found the name Rafael Hernandez. She is from Granada ..”
“Yes. That's right,” sela Paloma looks cramped. He moved from where he was, then approached Antonio's table. Paloma stood next to Martin.
“Rafael Hernandez was recorded to have worked here for only one year. In fact, his age is still included in the criteria to keep working on the Castaneda plantation. However, he resigned,” explained Antonio. “Like that note I got here. He terminated the employment contract for no apparent reason, so no compensation money was received by him,” continued Antonio again.
Paloma looked confused to hear the words of Antonio. Suddenly, anxiety burst into his heart. I don't know what happened to Rafael. Whether the man is okay or not. Paloma looked wrong. However, soon he can control himself to keep looking ordinary.
“Ah, it turns out there are still colleagues who work until now,”, Antonio said later.
“What's the name?” ask Paloma.
“Carlos Martinez.”
