The War Begins

All the way home from my in-laws house I just kept quiet. My three children have been asleep since. I deliberately chose to sit in the middle seat with my three children.

My husband was alone sitting in the front seat, driving. Sometimes he glanced at us through the rearview mirror in front of him. I pretended not to see and just focused on patting Adam so he would fall asleep.

I closed my phone and looked at my husband.
