I promised myself not to write this story, as a tribute to my foster brother. But I keep thinking about it every night. I still can't accept Victor's death.
It might feel a little different and too imposing, but I'll try to make the "final part" more satisfying for myself. By utilizing the records Tiara created in a separate file.
And again, I'm basically not a writer, so I hope you don't expect too much.
...~•~...
Victor stared at the vast ocean before him for the last time. Enjoying the last air he breathes. Last sunrise. Victor smiled faintly, closed his eyes and threw himself into the vast ocean.
After a gust of strong wind, Victor felt his body touch the surface of the water. Pain attacks every inch of his skin due to sudden changes in pressure. He believes his flesh was torn in many places. The pain only lasted a little while, then Victor felt nothing more
"Is dying that easy?" inner Victor. "Now what?"
Victor felt no change in him. He still has consciousness and can think. Is he not dead? Given the height of the cliff, it was clearly impossible for him to still be alive.
Victor opened his eyes. He was surprised to find himself still on top of the cliff. Not moving one bit. Was his suicide just an illusion? Victor shook his head strongly, then jumped confidently.
Again. Somehow, he went back up the cliff. Victor did not give up, continued to jump repeatedly. Of course, he continued to fail. Victor is like a character in the game, who returns to his original place every time he dies.
"What the fuck?! How could I not jump there?!" Victor wants to go berserk. It felt like fate was playing tricks on him. Victor shouted towards the sky. "I want to die! Don't block me!"
"What do you think?" A sound entered Victor's sense of hearing.
"I'm sure he's dead." Another voice chimed in. "But what do we see now?"
"Don't make fun of me!" Victor turned his body, snapping at the source of the voice. "I can definitely die, no need to nag me!"
"..."
Victor gnashing. So did the two people - meaning the two strange creatures ahead there.
"Can you hear us?" ask one of them. A blue-bodied creature with a tall and large stature. It doesn't look like anything Victor's ever seen.
Victor was still dumbstruck when the other creature of the same shape with red color approached his face. "You can see us, huh? At last. After a long time." It looks like a creature, like.
"Don't touch it. We don't know what he is. He might be dangerous." Blue Beings withhold Red Creatures.
"But wasn't he the human who jumped off the cliff?" The Red creature tilted its head.
"Maybe it's just similar. He's not human, no human can see us." The Blue man looked at his friend. "We have to be vigilant, I don't know what he can do to us."
"What do you say! I'm the one who should be on guard. Those who are not humans are you!" Victor clenched his hands, trembling slightly in fear.
"It seems he himself was confused. Maybe he's a new kind of creature?" The Red Creature reassures. "We were like that when we were first born, remember?"
"That was thousands of years ago, who will remember?" the Sangsi Blue Creature. "I'm sure you don't really remember yourself."
"At least I'm sure we've been in a state of confusion for months. There's nothing we can ask." The Red creature raised a limb that looked like its shoulder. "But now he can ask us. You can't just let it go, can you?"
The red creature is right. They have lived together for thousands of years, without other creatures of the same kind. In this world there is only one Red Creature and one Blue Creature.
They can see everything, whether humans, animals, objects and sights. No one can see or talk to them.
After a long, boring journey, the Blue Creature can finally interact with people other than the Red Creature. How could he miss that opportunity?
"I've forgotten when and how we were born, which obviously was a long time ago. At that time humans were still behaving like animals," explained the Blue Creature.
"Wait a minute" Victor said. "Why do you call yourself there is only one in the world? You two are. And, how can you be sure there is nothing else? Why not reproduce?"
"You're so funny! Reproducing?" The red creature laughed out loud, then touched the back of the Blue Creature. His hand pierced through the body. "We have neither lust nor sex, but above all, we can't even hold hands."
"We've lived for so long, everything you ask about we've been searching for. We have explored every inch of this earth, even to places that are not affordable by humans. The result is nothing." The Blue creature looked towards the morning sky. "There's only one me, and one him."
"You might think the only difference between me and him is the color of our bodies." The Red creature brought his face closer to Victor. "No. We're a lot different. I live from absorbing the energy of someone who wants to die, whereas he absorbs the energy of someone who has the desire to stay alive."
Victor gulped. He was not sure whether to trust the two alien beings in front of him or not. Does all this make sense? He was trying to kill himself until a while ago
"Hey, you said humans can't see you guys, why can I? Is it because I'm dead? So ghosts? What about the other ghosts?" Victor's face frowned, trying to find the answer to each of his questions.
The Red Creatures laughed again. "Who believes in man-made superstitions? God, humans are weird creatures. It could be making up stories to scare the other."
Blue creature elbowed his friend's arm—just gesture, they can't touch. "He has a point. Obviously he jumped off that cliff. Normally a dead human would go to the light, but he was still here. In human theory, it's called a ghost, right?"
"You mean he's a curious spirit who still hasn't done anything in his life? Should we help get her business done so she can go to the light?" taunting Red Creature. "There are many people who die curious. Everything goes straight to the light."
"I killed myself to die, not live another life." Victor rubbed his face. "What if I'm not dead and all this is just a hallucination? Maybe they were just my imagination. I'm starting to go crazy."
The Red and Blue beings looked at each other with strange smiles on their faces. They turned to Victor, then disappeared slowly. Wind blowing. Now there's nobody on that cliff but Victor.
"I'm right?!"
