Chapters 88. Fades Away's

Today Louis is taking Mother and Helga to one of the malls. Using cheap tricks to win the hearts of Hannah's mother and sister. Hannah was invited, but she firmly refused. Judith looked at Maria and Jose, who were looking at them from her place. “Hannah, introduce.They're Mark”'s parents.

“Uncle, Aunty. It's Hannah. Lover Mark.”

Judith decides to leave Hannah, giving her time with Mark's family. Johnny followed. “We don't have much time, Judith. I have to take her back before Louis comes home”

“What about our plan? You sure two weeks is enough time?”

Johnny nodded. There's no need for words to convince Judith. He was quite confident his plan, with the help of Jeanno, would go smoothly.

“Sshh, wake up, son. Do not be like this, Aunt and Uncle have forgiven you, wake up baby” slowly, Hannah got up, aligned her body with Maria who pulled her into a warm embrace.

“Hannah darling, my son's lover. The woman my son loved. Aunt please, help Mark through his critical period.he needs you dear”.

Hannah wiped her tears even though her shoulders were still shaken. “B-can I.. visit him?”

Maria nodded. While Jose calls a nurse to help Hannah pair up the sterile attributes that visitors must wear every time they enter Mark's nursery.

“You must be strong, dear”

Hannah nodded. The door opened, taking her footsteps slowly. As soon as she uncovers the curtain, the strength of her legs goes away, causing Hannah to collapse again in tears. His heart was broken to see the man he loved, now lying helplessly with various medical devices that sustained his life. Growing devastated when he realized that it was possible that when Mark opened his eyes, he was no longer here.

Hannah never cried so bad. He couldn't even get up, his head was heavy with guilt and his shoulders were so much bigger. He hugged his knees, letting himself cry on the cold hospital tiles.

Crushed. Her world collapsed and her love was forcibly snatched away. There was no bright spot to welcome him. She will be someone else's wife in two weeks. He casts out all the shadows he would have cast if he were to be the wife of Mark Sebastian.

“Honey.. how are you? It's me. Hannah”.

“We still have two weeks. I will help you as much as I can to meet Mark secretly. But I ask you to obey my words. Don't let Louis, or your family know about this. And. eat, Hannah. I don't want you to be sick”

Coming home from the hospital, Hannah was like an insane person. His gaze was empty, occasionally tears just flowed. He refused to eat, did not talk to anyone. Louis, Mom, even Helga tried, but Hannah didn't budge. Louis thought it was just a form of rebellion Hannah refused their marriage, without him knowing that actually Hannah thought about Mark's condition which could at any time go down.

The night was quiet, Hannah was still awake. He glanced at Mother and Helga who were already sound in a dream. In the faintness of the light, Hannah's eyes caught a shiny object that was above the nightstand. He recalled, Helga was studying while eating some apples. Looks like the little brother forgot to keep the apple and the knife back in the kitchen.
