Substitute Mother

Substitute Mother
Chaptre 95. A New Day Has Come

News of Louis' arrest broke out so quickly. This case is considered quite serious makes the news does not stop airing on various news platforms. Although a court ruling has not been made, Louis' assets have been seized as evidence. Including the house he lived in, and also Victoire.

Hannah takes her family to live in her long-empty old apartment. Without the need to comfort the mother and Helga who mope with the failure of their dream of having a foreign daughter-in-law who will invite them to live abroad.

Hannah is now free. Free from Louis, free from Victoire. Victoire, where he had been making a living for the past few years, had finally collapsed without a trace and at no price. Leaving hundreds of employees adrift with a new status, namely unemployment.

Oh, Johnny's been checked out, too. His status is still a witness. But according to Jeanno, Johnny is at risk of being affected as well. The man had already offered a great lawyer to accompany Johnny. But it was rejected on the assumption that he deserved all the risks while working under Louis.

“How's Mom and Helga?”

Judith and Hannah are having lunch at the Hospital cafeteria, taking turns with Mark's parents. Hannah, who had not stopped smiling since yesterday, looked at Judith with cute sparkling eyes.

“Mother rarely speaks. I think he was disappointed, but also embarrassed because the future daughter-in-law who was proud was none other than a criminal. Helga often locked herself in her room. I think he was disappointed because his dream of school in England ran aground”

Judith extended her hand, clasping Hannah's hand. “I'm glad your one problem finished”

“But Judith, I'm sorry”

“For?”

Hannah was breathing out, feeling guilty. “Because Victoire no longer exists, then you have no place to work anymore”

Judith smiled. “You talk as if Victoire is the only place to make money. It's okay, honey. Not salahmu. Besides, I also have no thoughts of going back there after my employment agreement with Jeanno ended”

“If you won't come back, then what will you do after this?”

His opponent shrugged his shoulders. “Entah. But I'm thinking about quitting the night job. Maybe I'll start a business with my savings. Just pray”

Their conversation came to a halt as Judith's phone shook. Oia, please remind Hannah to buy a cell phone after this. Judith pulls her hand from Hannah to answer a call from her Aunt Mary.

“What's up, Aunty?”

“Yes? Did ya? okay, we'll be there” soon

Judith disconnected her connection. Turning to Hannah who had listened carefully. “Why Judith? What happened to Mark?”

“Honey, we have to go back now” Judith got up, prepare money to pay for their food. But Hannah intercepts his hand, wanting more explanation.

Judith smiled. “Mark sober”

When Hannah and Judith returned, the doctor had finished the examination and allowed Maria and Jose to see Mark's condition. Makes Hannah have to patiently queue her turn. One side he was nervous. Given all ‘dosa’nya to Mark who has sincerely accepted himself as he is.

“What if Mark rejects me, Judith?”

Judith shook her hand. “Stop talking nonsense”

“I was so nervous, even I could hear my own heartbeat”

“It will be fine, Hannah. Your wait has come to its end. Mark's aware. Mark has made it through his critical period”

The door opened, revealing Jose and Maria with happy expressions. Maria hugged Hannah for a moment, understanding that she was looking forward to entering.

“Come, darling. The first word that Mark mentioned when he woke up was your name. Quickly, meet him”.

Hannah nodded at Maria's words. Helped by nurses wearing sterile clothes, Hannah stepped slowly along with her running heartbeat. When he reached his destination, he saw Mark slowly opening his eyes, as if he was still adjusting the light he had not received for a long time.

“M-mark..”.

The so-called one moved his head very slowly, barely visible if not meticulous movements. Her lips were still clad in oxygen cylinders, reviewing a thin smile. Really, he misses his girl. He wants to embrace Hannah, whom he has not seen for a long time.

Hannah nodded many times. Hold Mark's hand. Two tears of happiness, followed by another. “Yes, yes, it's me, Hannah. I'm here, baby. I'm here with you”

Mark's eyes closed. As if blinking requires a great deal of energy. But Mark is still trying to respond to Hannah's grip on her fingers.

“H..sign. Ha..nhah.”.

“Sshh.. Don't talk if you're not strong. I'm here, I'm not going anywhere”

Mark was still smiling, obeying Hannah's words to save his uncollected energy.

“Thanks for holding, Mark”

Even three days passed, Mark showed amazing progress. The man had been moved to an ordinary outpatient room. Various heavy medical devices have also been removed from his body. It's just that Mark is still not allowed to sit down, or talk too much if it drains a lot of energy.

The man also did not remember the cause of his accident. When Jose asked, Mark only remembered himself driving down a deserted highway. Then it was dark.

Hannah spends every day with Mark. Not even going home even though Mary insisted. Instead, Judith brought clean clothes for Hannah from Mark's apartment.

“Sorry.. I didn't keep my promise.

Hannah smiles. “I won't forgive you if you don't wake up, baby. But since you're sober, then all are forgiven”

Hannah promised herself that if Mark were conscious, he would tell her everything that was covered up. But waiting for his condition to improve, of course.

“You.... alright.....just?”.

Hannah gnashing. Isn't he the one who should be asking?

“Yes, I'm fine. I'm perfect seeing you awake, Mark. And I'm grateful for that”

Mark smiled, deciding to look at the face of the ayu as much. Oh, of course Mark clearly remembers the cause of his shock until the fateful accident. But he decided not to say anything for Hannah's honor. He believes the photos he got, there must be a story behind it. And Mark wants to hear himself from his lover's lips.

Mark still trusts Hannah.

Tyona felt her body goosebump. For the last two days it was like a cold. Feeling dizzy if it smells pungent, no appetite, even vomit all that goes into his system except the chicken porridge of the Hospital cafeteria. That led him to order the same menu for his meal schedule.

“Doctor order chicken porridge again?” asked Eva, a nurse who accompanied Tyona to lunch. The one asked chuckled. “Yes, this is the only thing that stirs my appetite, Eva”

“But aren't you bored, doc? I just ate my favorite menu, maximum 3x. After that I stopped because enek”

Tyona shook her head, adding a little sauce to complete the flavor of the porridge. “I once ordered another menu, but I was instantly nauseous. So rather than redundant it is better to go back to chicken porridge”

Eva shook her head at the doctor's behavior. “Doctor reminds me of my sister when I was pregnant. He would not eat anything but broccoli. Though previously he hated half dead on broccoli”

Tyona's hand movements came to a halt as her ears caught one interesting word. Getting pregnant? Could it..

Wait, when was the last time he got his period. Tyona grabs the phone, opens the calendar on the feature. Five. It's been five days that he's late. But isn't he ever late? Even more than five days. Should he check it? But Tyona didn't want to hope.

“Doctor?”

“Ya?”

Eva smokes a smile. “What doctors are pregnant?”
