Chapter 30: Rain in Early August

"Certainly remember, why are you so confident about winning?" Ruben glared slightly and his voice was a bit loud.

"Of course I'm confident, look up now," Ahsan pointed his index finger towards the sky which was already blackening overcast.

"It hasn't rained yet" said Ruben.

"I'll just say get ready" Ahsan replied again.

"Let's see who wins" Ruben said.

Then we also accelerated our steps towards the minimarket because the sky already looks like it will drop water. The rumbling sounds have started to sound.

Upon arrival at the minimarket, we went straight in to buy a drink. It felt quite tiring the trip earlier, plus the current atmosphere was also quite sultry because it was cloudy.

We also buy drinks according to our taste. Ahsan buys orange juice, Ruben buys fizzy drinks, Sofia buys cold chocolate milk, and I buy sparkling tea. After we finished paying, we immediately sat in the available seats in front of the minimarket.

"It looks like it's going to rain?" Sofia put down the milk box she had just drank.

"Oii what the fuck is Sof, show your spirit dong, don't give up like that," Ruben looks very disapproving of the question from Sofia.

"What the fuck is tuch, why do you make Sofia look like she's supporting you?" reply Ahsan.

Shortly after, it finally rained. Started by a small drizzle until finally the rain becomes quite heavy. It feels a bit strange that it rains in August. Actually it is now the dry season or has it entered the rainy season? I don't know, sometimes the universe likes to make surprises. Whether it's a surprise that makes you happy or sad. At least the rain this time did not feel cold at all, on the contrary, it felt warm and comfortable.

"Hahahahaha I finally won," Ahsan laughed proudly.

"Well, why is it raining, does the sky hate me so it's raining? What's my fault" Ruben grumbled.

"Your fault is only one Ben, your stupidity is hahahaha," Ahsan said.

"Huh yeah?" Ruben glared back.

"If there were four seasons here would be nice?" Sofia smiled a little.

"Why can that be Sof?" ask Ruben.

"What do you think the snow is melting?" this time Sofia looked at Ruben with a peaceful gaze.

"It's definitely water, right?" ruben answered quickly.

"That's not wrong, but if you live in a country that has four seasons, you will find that the melting snow will turn into spring. The season where the flowers will bloom again" Sofia replied with a warm smile.

"Are you doing a poem, Sof? Your words sound beautiful but they are difficult to understand" Ruben said.

"That's hard your brain" Ahsan chirped.

"Haaa? Whatchu mean? Do you understand what Sofia just said?" Ruben glared a little.

"Of course I understand" Ahsan said.

The sound of rain was getting clearer. The streets that were once quite crowded, now look so quiet. The smell of soil when exposed to the rain is still smelled. The sky was still dark, there was no sign that the rain would stop.

At 18:10, the rain began to shrink. Now all that is left is a small spatter.

"Let's go to the stop now, the rain is raining again," Sofia asked as she moved from her seat.

"Come," said Ruben following Sofia.

We rushed to the stop not far from here. Because it was still a little drizzle, we also ran a small while heading there.

After arriving at the bus stop, we sat down to wait for the bus to arrive. Luckily we didn't wait too long, because it was only about five minutes we arrived, the bus had arrived. The atmosphere of the bus this time was rather quiet. The four of us can sit close to each other.

Along the way, we talked about a lot of things. Of course I listen more than I talk. For this time, Ruben and Ahsan were not involved in the debate as to what they always did normally. This time, they seem to really enjoy the time that the four of us spend together.

To be honest, my biggest concern was not our conversation, but I secretly noticed Sofia's face, which also looked very happy. I even drowned and sometimes I didn't hear what was on the subject.

Until now, I was still pounding when I met Sofia. I wonder if he also thumped when he met me? I don't know.

Finally we arrived at the stop near the school, we immediately went back to school to pick up Ahsan and Sofia's bikes. After that, the four of us separated to return to our homes.

After school, before I got on the bus, I sent my mom a message that I might be home late today. So at least he already knew that I came home late today.

The water from the rain this afternoon has not dried up. Even tonight's Eve is pretty cold. Even though the rain had stopped, it seemed like the sky was still covered in black clouds. The evidence is that the moon and stars are closed and still faintly visible.

Suddenly while I was still staring at the night sky, my phone shook. "It looks like there's a message coming in," I thought.

It's true, I did get a message. And what makes me so happy is the message coming out of Sofia."Thank you today :)" the message read. This is his first message to me.

After I finished reading it, I put my phone back in my pocket. I looked back at the sky. This time I looked up at the sky with a smile on my face.

When I got home, I took a shower and then had dinner. This time, I ate my own dinner, because mom and Hana had already finished eating their dinner from earlier. After I finished eating dinner, I went straight to my room and laid myself on the bed.

I turned around and looked at the ceiling of my room which was quite glare exposed to the light of the lamp. Then I closed my eyes for a while. As soon as I started closing my eyes, I could immediately see Sofia's smiling face. His smile is so strong.

A rumbling sound came back from the sky, it seemed like it was going to rain again tonight. I think I'll go to bed early this time. Before going to bed, I also took the time to re-read the materials that have been given. I yawned several times while reading the material.

45 Minutes later, I felt very sleepy. I also closed the books I had read. I turn off the lights before going to bed.

Along with me who had just laid down to sleep, it rained. I honestly really like it raining nights like this. I like this atmosphere that is very comfortable to sleep in. It's only been two days in August, but there's a lot going on this month.
