The Part 73

"There's something strange" Alex said. "Why is it only your number with Dinda that the person contacted?"

Hearing the words of Alex, Rudi and Billy just realized, if it is true what Alex said.

"That means that person probably knows you two, until you know your contact" Alex continued, staring at Billy.

Billy was confused to see Alex's gaze like that.

"I don't know. As far as I know, Dinda and I have no enemies" Billy said.

"Is it something to do with your family or Dinda's family?" ask Alex to be curious.

"don't know. That's what I was thinking, too" said Billy.

The three of them went back to silence. Operation Dinda is not yet complete.

Alex seemed to be unable to calm down. He walked around in front of the operating room door.

Rudi was still busy blaming himself, while Billy was busy thinking about people who might try to harm Dinda.

Rudi's phone vibrated repeatedly.

Rudi took the thing out of his pocket. He saw an incoming call from an unknown number. He then looked at Alex and Billy alternately, while showing the incoming call number.

Billy signed with his hand, to greet the phone.

"Hello!" said Rudi who then installed a loudspeaker, so that others can come to hear the conversation.

"Hello! It's me Laura! Rudi are you with Dinda?" it was Laura who contacted Rudi.

"Yes! Why?" said Rudi.

"There's something I want to talk to Dinda about, but Dinda's number is off" Laura's voice panicked.

Billy and Alex nodded, as if approvingly as Rudi told, where Dinda is now.

"We are again in the hospital (Rudi mentioned one of the names of the big hospitals in the city)"

"Why? Who's sick?" ask Laura.

"Dinda" said Rudi.

"What pain? I'm there now!" laura's voice panicked. Then hurriedly disconnected the call.

Billy then asked for Rudi's phone, he wanted to compare his number, with the one on his cellphone. Billy checked those two numbers.

"Different!" billy said.

"Also as far as I know, Laura doesn't know my contact number" he continued.

"Sounding from her tone, I think Laura was worried about Dinda's situation. But, I don't know... We will see when he comes later" said Rudi.

They simultaneously stared at the door of the operating room, which had not yet opened. It's been over an hour since Dinda's been in there.

"How long is this?" alex said, who then walked to the door. He looked impatient again, wanting to peek inside.

"Is Dinda okay?" alex said again, then sat back in the chair.

A question that has no answer. The three of them could only wait.

One of the nurses opened the door from the inside. She's alone, Dinda hasn't been seen.

The three of them stood up together wanting to know how the girl was doing. The three of them approached the nurse who was standing at the door.

"The operation is not finished, I was just told to tell you that the operation will still be long," said the nurse.

"How is he doing?" ask the three of them almost simultaneously. The three of them looked at me.

The nurse then looked at the three of them, taking turns.

"The condition is still critical. Fractions of bone injure muscles and some nerves. His family was asked to be more patient, because the repair process would still take a long time" said the nurse, who walked into the operating room and closed the door.

Alex, Rudi and Billy immediately limp to hear what the nurse said. Everyone has worried faces. The three of them sat back down.

"Why would anyone try to kill Dinda?" said Alex.

"Have you guys reported to the police, about the current irregularities?" alex asked with a curious face.

Billy shook his head.

"If we report now, I think you'll be the prime suspect" Billy said, staring at Alex.

"Report it! If you keep quiet, the real culprit will have time to escape, later!" exclaim Alex steady. He was sure he was innocent, so he did not feel afraid.

"Later, I'll report to the police. I don't want to leave Dinda, who is still like this," Billy said, looking down.

Alex saw the two men taking turns. It wasn't just them who didn't want to leave Dinda, without knowing how things were going.

"If Dinda has finished the operation. You two go make a report. I'll take care of Dinda" Alex said.

Rudi and Billy looked at him in surprise.

"Why? You still think I'm the one who wants to hurt Dinda?" alex said while shaking his head, as if not believing the behavior of his two friends.

Rudi and Billy were silent.

"Then one of you went to report. So someone can keep an eye on me, with Dinda," Alex said. He then leaned his back, onto the back of the chair.

Rudi's phone shook again and again. That number that Laura used, who called her. Rudi answered while walking away from Alex with Billy.

Shortly after Rudi disconnected the call. Anxious-looking Laura, ran down the corridor towards those sitting there.

"What's going on? Is Dinda okay?" laura asked, when the distance was close to the three men.

"Still in surgery." said Rudi.

Laura looked worried.

The three men could see Laura's face clearly as she sat down. The girl's eyes were swollen as if she had cried for a long time. There was a slight bluish circle around the girl's eyes.

Likewise in the jaw there was a bluish bruise to the neck, as if he had not beaten someone for long.

"What's wrong with you?" Rudi did not want to guess, when he saw Laura's condition.

"I was hit by my Papa." said Laura. It was obvious that she was holding back tears.

"Why?" ask the curious Rudi.

Laura looked at Rudi and Billy alternately. Then his eyes stopped on Billy.

Billy furrowed his brows.

"What's up?" asked Billy who was astonished.

"Some of you sent a video to my papa to Eko too, when I was at your villa at the time" Laura said.

"What video?" billy asked in amazement.

"Video of the time I was with my friend that night. After we had a drink," said Laura, who then felt ashamed of her own behavior.

Billy's wide-eyed. He was really surprised.

"My father hit me in shame. I'm locked up at home" said Laura, tears streaming down her eyes as she lowered her head.

"I ran away from home, when I had the chance," Laura said.

Laura wiped her tears, then raised her face as she felt more resolute.

"I went to Dinda's house. I'm sure it's not him who's going to send that stupid video...

So I'm going to hitchhike in her house, all for her opinion, about who might have sent the video to my dad," Laura said, glaring at Billy.

Billy shook his head, as Laura looked at him like that.

"Do you think I sent that video?" asked Billy with a sour face. He looked upset, feeling that Laura was accusing him.

"There are only a few people. Dinda certainly can't be. All you have left is Mita. But, I don't think Mita would do that." Laura still spoke as if accusing Billy.

Billy stands. He could not believe what he heard.

"Just your contact I don't know, how can you think, if I know Papa's contact, or your fiancee?" billy said ketus.

Laura remained silent. He thought Billy had a point.

Rudi and Alex who do not understand what Billy is talking about with Laura are just speechless to see them.

But Rudi still has a curiosity.

"You called me with a new number, didn't you?" rudi asked, breaking Laura's daydream.

"Yes, that's a prepaid card. My HP was confiscated by papa, so I bought a new phone...

What about Dinda? I went to his house, kept saying that if Inah, Dinda might be with you, so I called you, when Dinda's number couldn't be reached" Laura explained

"Dinda's still in surgery. His condition is still critical" said Rudi.
