OPEN MARRIAGES
The Part 15
This time Rudi came late. The course of one of the lecturers, has been started since
when he entered the room. He quickly climbed up the stairs, towards where they used to sit. The young man stumbled.
The sight before him was heartless.
Dinda sat next to the young bule the freshman. Dinda and her new friend look familiar.
Rudi looked back and forth, Laura's nose was invisible. He sat down with a chair from Dinda.
Dinda saw it, but as if not care, she was still focused on paying attention to the lecturer's explanation. Every now and then Dinda and the young man whispered.
Rudi felt very upset, but he covered up his frustration, pretending to focus on his lesson.
"Mark, this is my friend Rudi!" said Dinda introduced Rudi with a young man who turned out to be named Mark.
Rudi and Mark shake hands. The three of them relax in the cafe. Rudi was upset at Dinda's cuekkin who even coolly chatted with Mark.
"Where's Laura?" tanya Rudi sought Dinda's attention.
"Laura is out with her parents. He said it might be a week or two" replied Dinda.
Dinda then chatted again with Mark.
Mark asked Dinda many questions that made Dinda give her attention to the young man.
He was no longer able to control his frustration. Rudi then said goodbye to Dinda and Mark.
Dinda just nodded.
Rudi quickly walked away from there.
A few days later, the scene continued.
Where Rudi and Dinda are, Mark is there too. Mark and Dinda became more and more familiar.
The problem is every time there is Mark, Rudi as if not seen in Dinda's eyes. The girl was always busy chatting with the young man. Not infrequently when Rudi spoke or asked, Dinda did not have time to answer him even first respond to Mark's chat.
The longer Rudi gets jealous. But he can't do much. He realized his position was only a friend. He couldn't possibly forbid Dinda from being friends with Mark. Inevitably Rudi was forced to hold back the resentment in his own heart. The young man did not know how to.
Laura is back from abroad. Due to Laura's sociable nature, Mark's attention from Dinda is somewhat distracted. Dinda's behavior almost returned as usual. Rudi was relieved.
But Rudi's relief was only temporary. Until the news echoed in his ears.
When Rudi, Dinda and Laura are picking up a book in the library. Dinda said
"Mark wants me to be his girlfriend,"
The words of Dinda surprised his two best friends.
"Really?" laura almost shouted. Laura pinched Dinda's cheek.
Dinda grimaced in pain, while stroking her sore cheeks.
"Keep, you accept?" laura asked excitedly.
Rudi looked at Dinda's face. He knew that Dinda wanted to be that guy's girlfriend.
"okay... By the way, where is Mark now? why isn't he coming with us?" ask Laura.
"So he came home first, he said he wanted to accompany his sister shopping" said Dinda.
"Ciiieee, you're the only one he's told. You're special for her to say," said Laura teasing Dinda.
"Udah, just accept it. His son is so nice it looks. Than being single!" connect Laura.
Rudi just listened to the chatter of the two girls, without responding to anything. Rudi pretended to be busy reading the book in his hand.
In the library, Rudi was not calm. Many times he glanced at Dinda. The young man gathered his intention, to express his affection to Dinda. She doesn't want Dinda to date Mark.
Not that Rudi did not want to see Dinda happy, he wanted Dinda happy, with him, not with the young man.
Rudi thought hard, how to open a conversation like what. He intends to declare his love when he takes Dinda home later.
On the way home, Rudi got more agitated. The car was going very slowly.
"Super slow! When's nyampenya?" said Dinda while looking at Rudi.
Rudi realized, he drove his vehicle at normal speed.
Before Dinda got out of her car, Rudi held Dinda's hand.
"Wait a minute!"
"Eh, Why?" Dinda pulled her foot back into the car.
Rudi was silent, he was very nervous.
"What's up?" ask Dinda again.
"Do you like Mark?" rudi finally spoke. Rudi looked at Dinda deeply.
"Yes!"
"Do you really want to be his girlfriend?"
"Hmmm... Yes.." Dinda's answer sounded doubtful in Rudi's ear.
This is your chance, thought Rudi. He gathered up courage, then said
"I love you, Din! I want you to be mine!"
Rudi expressed his wish, he hoped that he would get the answer he wanted.
Now Dinda is silent for a long time.
Dinda stepped out of the car without saying anything. Leaving Rudi who was only glued to see it pass.
