OPEN MARRIAGES

OPEN MARRIAGES
The Part 40

Rudi walked into Dinda's house. He looked here and there, but Dinda was nowhere to be seen. Rudi then saw Mbok Inah coming out of his room.

"Mbok, where's Dinda?" ask Rudi.

"Oh, Non Dinda went on a pilgrimage to his parents' grave with Mr. Billy, '" replied Inah.

"Have they been away for a long time?" ask Rudi again.

"Lumayan... It looks like it was more than an hour ago" said mbok Inah.

"Master Rudi wants to wait for Non Dinda?" mbok Inah asked again

"Mr Rudi what do you want to drink?" ask Mbok Inah again.

"Hmm, don't be mbok! If I'm thirsty, I'll take it myself!" said Rudi.

"Good, Master!"

After feeling there is nothing more to talk about with Rudi, mbok Inah then excuse me to continue his work taking care of the house.

Rudi sat on the chair on the front porch. At the office his work is done. He was going to accompany Dinda. Dinda went with Billy.

Rudi chose to wait there until Dinda returned.

With Billy? Why did they suddenly go to Dinda's parents' grave?

Rudi was still wondering in his heart, when a car stopped in front of Dinda's house.

Billy got off the car first, then opened the door for Dinda.

Dinda then walks into the courtyard, with Billy embracing Dinda's shoulder.

Several times Dinda was seen wiping her face with her hands.

Rudi approached Dinda and Billy came.

When he saw Rudi, Dinda just bowed and continued to walk slowly. Dinda's heart is still chaotic, she is still carried away by the sad atmosphere of missing her parents.

Without saying anything, Rudi blocked Dinda and Billy's steps.

Dinda stopped stepping, the girl still lowered her head.

Rudi held Dinda's chin and raised the girl's face. Dinda's eyes were puffy, she had just cried a long time ago.

Dinda looked at Rudi, the girl's eyes still watering. Dinda hugged Rudi.

Rudi hugged Dinda tightly. While Billy who had removed his embrace from Dinda's shoulder, only speechless to see them cuddle.

Rudi brought Dinda in. Billy walked behind them.

Dinda whispered to Rudi, if she wants to be alone in her room.

Rudi nodded and led Dinda to the room. Dinda was lying on the bed, and Rudi came out of it.

"What's going on?" rudi asked Billy who was still standing looking at Dinda, from the door of the room.

Billy saw Rudi at a glance, then went to sit on the sofa in the middle room. Rudi followed him and sat there.

"Dinda misses her parents" said Billy, as Rudi sat down.

"So mbok Inah accidentally alluded to our time in High School," continued Billy.

This time Billy can talk. It was a bit surprising for Rudi, but Rudi still wanted to know why Dinda was so sad.

"meaning?" asked Rudi again not understanding.

Billy looked at Rudi. This guy doesn't know Dinda very well, Billy thought.

"So I was joking with Dinda. Then Mbok Inah laughed looking at us. Maybe because of that, Dinda remembered her mother who used to laugh so, when she saw us again joking," said Billy.

Billy saw Rudi still staring at him, as if waiting for an additional explanation. Billy continued saying

"I used to get along with my mom Dinda. I play here often. Sometimes we act like kids who bother each other. Most of all, I'm the one who bothers Dinda.

If Dinda's angry, she's usually after me, for her to hit. Mama Dinda, even if she sees me bothering Dinda, won't be mad at me. Mama Dinda just laughed when she saw Dinda chasing me around.

Likewise with Papa Dinda who never got angry with our behavior, he just let us chase is not clear," said Billy. He spoke at length, explaining to Rudi.

In Billy's heart, there is a sense of regret for not being able to be on Dinda's side, when Mama and Papa Dinda died. So when talking about Dinda's parents, Billy gets serious.

Dinda's room door is still open. Rudi looked at Dinda who was lying in her bed, which was right opposite the living room sofa where Rudi and Billy were sitting.

Rudi did not get to meet Mama Dinda. When Rudi got to know Dinda, her mother was dead. Rudi also rarely met Papa Dinda. Before Papa Dinda died, Papa Dinda often worked out of town.

Step mbok Inah who approached Rudi and Billy, disperse Rudi's daydream.

Mbok Inah approached Billy.

"What does Mr Billy want to drink?" ask Billy.

"Latte coffee mbok!" answer Billy.

Mbok Inah nodded. He asked Rudi.

"Mr Rudi what do you want to drink?"

"No need to be mbok!" sahut Rudi's.

Mbok walked into the kitchen. Rudi saw the back of Mbok Inah disappear from the bulkhead that separated the living room and dining room.

Rudi looked at Billy.

Billy looked back at him.

"Do you want coffee?" asked Billy in wonder. Since they met several times, Rudi usually drank coffee.

"Ah, I don't want to bother Mbok Inah!" answer Rudi.

Billy smiled.

"You don't know, do you?! Did you not see? That ma'am didn't want to be quiet. There is not much work at home. Sometimes he repeats work that is already in order. Mbok Inah has always been happy that there is something we ask him to do. Maybe just so he feels like he's useful" Billy said.

As Billy was saying that, Dinda was already standing at the door of the room. Dinda heard all Billy's words about Mbok Inah. It turns out Billy knows what Inah wants, it's worth it to look more attentive and affectionate with Billy, than other people who have visited Dinda's house.

Dinda walked straight into the kitchen. He did not say hello or look at Billy and Rudi.

Rudi and Billy both just saw it. It seemed like they were both aware that Dinda would not be bothered anymore.

Until Dinda returned from the kitchen with a glass of water in her hand, the two men remained silent.

Dinda went back into her room.

Rudi looked at Dinda, then looked at Billy who was busy with his mobile phone. Rudi did not know what to do or say.

Soon, Inah approached the two men. In his hand was a tray with a cup of coffee and a small plate of pastries. Mbok Inah presents to the table in front of Rudi and Billy.

"Thank you, mbok!" billy and Rudi said almost simultaneously.

Mbok Inah just nodded then walked back to the kitchen.

"I had thought that Dinda had returned to work" said Rudi.

Billy looked towards Rudi.

"Dinda shouldn't have to work at that bad firm" Billy said.

Billy put his phone on the table.

"Why?" ask Rudi.

"Papa Dinda's business results are much greater than Dinda's salary there," continued Billy. The man lured Rudi, as if he knew something about the office where Dinda worked.

"Oh, if that's what I already know. Dinda's been telling me that ever since her father died, her uncle's in charge of her Papa business in the meantime. Dinda wanted to be a good lawyer, so she chose the firm" Rudi said.

"Why did you say the firm was bad?" rudi asked Billy.

Billy stared fixedly at Rudi. Billy makes sure that Rudi really does not know what Billy means.

After seeing the look on Rudi's face that was wondering. Billy is convinced that Rudi does not know anything.

"Bad is bad. Dinda's useless superior always pressured his men!" Billy answered the origin. He covered up what he knew from Rudi. Billy was holding his phone. He did not want to talk to Rudi anymore.

If that's all I know, Rudi thought.

Rudi then leaned on the sofa, pulled out his cellphone, from his pants pocket and then busy there.
