The clink of the elevator sound spread Zahra's daydream, making her turn small looking at Rayyan who was smiling at her. Their steps came to a halt as Rayyan took out a card and attached it to the detector.

"Let's go in, baby." said Rayyan after opening the door wide.

Zahra went inside the apartment and looked around. The apartment was quiet, and his heart was pounding violently when Rayyan closed the door. Rayyan grabbed an AC remote, then opened the window and balcony door in the room.

"Night, I've asked my mother for her blessing to propose to you. They agreed to it, and gave me this apartment card. Not to give it to us, but to lend it. Mama said I should buy a house for our little family later." Rayyan smiled awkwardly and scratched her nape as she said her mother's request.

"This is the apartment that Papa bought while he was in college. Mama and papa lived here at the beginning of their marriage, and now this apartment is only used for staycation when papa feels saturated with work. This apartment is not big, but it is enough to live after we get married later. This is also the first time I've set foot here. You... wouldn't mind if we stayed here for a while after getting married?"

"After we get married, we'll stay here, Zah. While waiting I build a house for us to live in later. Whaddya think? Or do you have another suggestion?"

Rayyan smiled faintly, trying to cover up her anxiety that perhaps she would be rejected by Zahra with a ridiculous excuse for her.

"We can get to know each other afterwards, Zah. My parents even did it, dating after marriage instead of being more exciting? We can even do whatever we want without fear of sin."

"B-but.i...."

"You still doubt me, hm?" Rayyan held onto both of Zahra's shoulders and looked at her deeply. Pray inwardly that Zahra will not reject her in order to hasten their marriage.

"It's not. I just feel like this is too soon." replied Zahra who successfully invited a smile to Rayyan's lips.

"So, you want us to get married after how long?"

"I don't know." Zahra lowered her head, her voice sounding soft and almost inaudible.

Rayyan understands that everyone does not immediately take a proposal from his lover. Many things must be considered for marriage, especially the readiness to spend the rest of his life with the partner they choose. And Zahra might be one of them. I don't know what thoughts are raging in Zahra's mind, which Rayyan obviously won't force now.

"I'll give you time to think, Zah. Let me know if you're ready for me to marry. But I'm asking, don't make me wait too long. Okay?"
