Rayyan growled, holding back her frustration as Nadine entered her room. After switching her job to someone else, spreading untrue gossip in her office, the girl reappears.

Zahra was quite surprised to find Nadine coming back to Rayyan's office, but after that she could control herself. Learning from his experience several times dealing with Nadine, Zahra only needed the courage to not be daunted in the face of Nadine's bluff.

He has to be like him in Bali yesterday. Although eventually the rumor spread and cornered him, but the way it managed to make Nadine retreat and reluctant to meet him and Rayyan.

Nadine glanced at Zahra who was sitting on one sofa with Rayyan. She smiled sinisterly as her eyes met Zahra's eyes.

"I heard, there was a furore in this office a few days ago."

"Hm. Isn't that because of you?" shoot Rayyan.

"I yeah? But.. I didn't think it would be this big." Nadine smiled, then crossed her legs and crossed her arms.

"I just met our high school friend first, and then we told him. His sister was there at the time, he worked here. And.. I don't know if he will spread the rumor, let alone make a scene like this. I'm sorry ya." Nadine said casually. She even slipped her sweet smile which made Zahra become puffed up.

"What you're talking about is the boss, so it's only natural that the gossip is so excited." said Zahra. "Yes, if you feel guilty, you should apologize well. Not even a smile like not guilty."

"Darling...." Rayyan said softly while clasping Zahra's hand.

Rayyan tried to calm Zahra who ignited his emotions. Because of yesterday's gossip, all the employees in the office immediately demeaned him.

"Ahhh, should I bow down and kiss your feet crying? Come on, Zah, this is an accident. Anyway... It did happen between you guys, right when in Bali yesterday? So, I think you guys better stay quiet like this and not defend yourself."

"What really happened in Bali between me and Zahra has nothing to do with you, Nadine! Please do not interfere in our affairs. Whether we sleep together or not is our business. And since you don't know what really happened, please don't spread such ridiculous news again. Especially by corrupting Zahra."

Rayyan did not look angry. His tone was flat, no intonation of his voice raised. But through his eyes on Nadine, it explained that Rayyan was really angry right now. Nadine knew that. Their closeness at High School was enough to make Nadine understand Rayyan.

"I'm not saying I blame you. But if you realize it, I'm so grateful." Rayyan straightened her seat and increasingly stared intently at Nadine.

"I don't want to know at all until I interfere in your life, Nadine. So you better do the same to me. We were friends, we were close once. But don't make that excuse so you can act as you please on me. And one more thing, never involve Zahra in any of your conversations. I won't stay silent."

Nadine was upset. The sweet smile she had been showing off was now gone. Nadine clenched her hands, her molars tightened from feeling rejected. Rayyan had hated him now, it meant that he had no more chance to get close and snatch Rayyan's heart.

Zahra was silent. Zahra was like a spectator watching a fierce match from the stands. Zahra did not want to defend herself, but she felt Rayyan had defended her enough. Moreover, Nadine did not like it, so whatever was said by Zahra would definitely be heeded just like that.

"I told you I didn't mean it, Rayyan. So you shouldn't accuse me." Nadine is still trying to defend herself, although now her facial water has changed from the previous one.

"With you talking about things you don't know the truth, it's wrong, Nadine. Especially if you know your friend's sister works here. You must have meant to say it to them, right?" rayyan asked with a grin towards Nadine.

"W-what do you mean, Rayyan?" Nadine.

"Okay, I'm just guessing." Rayyan rested her back on the back of the sofa. "I'll study the file you just gave me. If I agree, Zahra will call you. Or maybe call Alex. You can leave if there's no more work to talk about, Nadine."

Nadine's breath was hunting, Rayyan really pissed her off. His frustration grew to see Rayyan who deliberately returned to show his affection for Zahra. Rayyan purposely embraced Zahra's shoulder, even gently rubbing Zahra's coiled hair.

In the past, Nadine liked Rayyan's sweet attitude. The gentle rubbing of Rayyan's hand on her hair always made her heart rustle. But now, he saw Rayyan do it to another girl. Although she and Rayyan no longer have a relationship, Nadine is jealous.

"All right, I'm going. Maybe you need some time to make out here." Nadine tries to quip. He did not want to be seen defeated even in front of Zahra who would make him more laughed at by Zahra

"If you don't want to go, I don't have a problem. Maybe you'd like to see what kind of activities Zahra and I do together. So you can update the news you spread earlier."

"You're crazy, Rayyan!" Nadine immediately grabbed her bag and left Rayyan's room. Nadine even deliberately slammed the door while closing the door of Rayyan's room.

Nadine lost again. His frustration grew when he found out that Rayyan was defending Zahra. Her memories go back to the moment when she and Rayyan were still dating. Nadine is heartbroken, as Rayyan is not fighting for her just because of Andrew's threat to Eowyn. And now, Rayyan was so desperately defending Zahra.
