Lucas asks Rania to bring Haru and Yujin to play in the back garden. Lucas will have a one-on-one conversation with Jenny.
“What's up? Is that one of the bad things I'm going to hear?” Ask Jenny worried.
“Listen, your mother is in a mental hospital,” Lucas said hesitantly as he looked at Jenny who looked surprised. “She was too shocked to hear that her young husband committed suicide.”
“Kill themselves? Mark killed himself? Why,” Jenny corrected her sitting position, exerting all her attention on Lucas.
“Mark suffered various kinds of torture in prison to the point of not being able to bear it and ended up committing suicide. Law enforcement said from your mother's side, they've filed a complaint about the torture, but the police closed the case. Your mother was very unaccepting and eventually a mental breakdown.”
Jenny looked at Lucas. He doesn't know what he should feel. In her little heart she felt relieved, the person who had abused her had been none of this world. But also feeling sad, because her mother went crazy because her new husband died, but her mother was not even sad when her daughter was told.
“A-I don't know what I should feel.”
“Of course, I understand,” Lucas clasped Jenny's hand. “A week ago, I visited your mother in Mental Hospital, but she still has no development whatsoever.”
Jenny didn't know if she should be happy, because God was as if giving karma to people who caused her to go through a deep trauma. But anyway her mother is the one she once loved, and anyway Jenny and her mother have fond memories of when Jenny was little.
“Ya .., maybe I'll see her sometime. But, I still don't understand. What does this story have to do with Daniel?”
Lucas took a breath, trying to convey well what he had been hiding. Even Lucas didn't tell Rania.
“Daniel who put Mark in jail. And he purposely paid the warden there to torture Mark.” Lucas looks at Jenny who seems surprised but is mostly confused. Lucas knew he should have told Jenny right away, maybe things got a lot better. But now Lucas is happy because Jenny has gone through her dark times.
“I still don't understand. Why would Daniel do that? can you tell me clearly?”
FLASHBACK
After driving Jenny last night to Daniel's apartment. Lucas feels uncomfortable, as Jenny has been in a forbidden relationship with Ruby who has married. And Jenny is in touch with another man, Lucas just doesn't want Jenny back the way she used to have casual sex and changing men just for fun.*
And that's why Lucas was in front of a luxury apartment, waiting for someone to open the door after he rang the bell. Before long the door opened.
“Oh hi, you're Jenny's sister right?” Daniel greets Lucas cheerfully, though Lucas only responds by nodding his head.
“Please enter, sorry I just finished taking a shower and hurriedly opened the door after hearing bell.” Daniel lets Lucas in and directs Lucas to sit in his living room, while he leaves to put on a shirt.
“Sorry to keep you waiting,” sits in front of Lucas who is still expressionless. “So what's up?”
“What is your relationship with Jenny?”
Daniel is a little surprised by Lucas's no-nonsense question.
“I don't care what your reasons are. I'm here as Jenny's friend and brother, I just
warn you, please don't use Jenny's ego for your pleasure. I'm not sure, but it looks like you know Jenny and Ruby's relationship, as you emphasize Ruby's name. Shouldn't you be out of touch with Jenny when you find out she has an affair with your director. Unless it's because you're taking advantage of Jenny's current ambitions. Sometimes he does act quite recklessly, and you must know it.” Lucas spoke while looking intently at Daniel. Actually she also wanted to tell Ruby directly to stop having an illicit relationship with Jenny, but she had not been able to meet Ruby for long when she remembered her brother Yoona.
Daniel sighed after hearing Lucas' words. He did not expect that Lucas was really very protective of Jenny.
“I don't have any relationship with Jenny. But yeah, I was playing around with him a little bit, actually I wasn't messing around. But Jenny thinks so. If you're worried about that, I promise you right now, I won't be in touch with Jenny anymore. You can keep my promise.”
From then on Daniel stopped contacting Jenny, and stopped flirting with Jenny. Because he wanted to keep his promise to Lucas. But Jenny thinks Daniel is avoiding her because he already knows that Leo is her son.
After a few weeks of the incident, Daniel goes to see Lucas in his gallery, wanting to apologize about Yoona's first incident. Daniel regrets having once helped Ruby to get close to Yoona.
“Yes, I forgive. I honestly don't want my life to be filled with hate. It's just that since I'm an ordinary human being, I still cry and get hurt while missing them. I'm so glad Jenny loves me as much as I love her. But, he could not think properly, and planned this revenge. Though to me, Jenny's happiness is everything.” Lucas
“Thank you for forgiving me, I'm really sorry,” Daniel breathed, a little hesitant to continue his words. “I don't know how you look at me for asking this. But, did something happen to Jenny? I mean, I know you love her so much. But the way you treat it is a little different, like you're scared.”
“Ya ..., that's something you don't need to know.” Lucas said firmly.
Daniel nodded his head. “Either you believe it or not, but I really care about Jenny. If you need help you can contact me.” Daniel gave Lucas his card. Lucas picked it up and looked at Daniel's clan.
“Yoon Jung-Hwan?” Lucas scrunched his forehead. “Not your name Daniel?”
“Daniel is the name of my Canadian mother. I hate to say it, but I'm Yoon Daehwan's son, a former chief prosecutor who just retired. I work for Ruby because I don't want to deal with my father's company.”
“I was very surprised,” Lucas stared at Daniel. “Sorry but can I ask for your help?” Ask Lucas expectantly. Make Daniel smile.
“I told you, I'll help.”

“Sorry, but I told Daniel all about the abuse your stepfather did when you were in school. I don't know why, but when I look into his eyes, I believe that he's really going to help. You know I've been dying to report Mark, but you're banning me for fear that he and your mother will deny it. But I didn't expect him to intend to torture Mark in jail.”
Jenny was so shocked, that she was completely speechless. All the flashbacks filled his mind. But the question for Jenny is why did Daniel do all that why did he help her? However, on the other hand Jenny is even more embarrassed, because Daniel has found out how dirty she is.
“This is a shame,” Jenny cupped her face with both her hands. “I became more insecure to tell him about Haru, what if he thought it was another boy I slept with? She already knows how dirty I am, she will definitely be ashamed to have a child from me.” This time Jenny cried, she thought of her promise to Haru to bring Daniel to see her.
“Jen ..., what do you say, do not say such a thing. You're not dirty or disgusting, or anything that's on your mind. What happened in the past is something you didn't expect.” Lucas hugged Jenny who was crying. “I'm sure Daniel will see Haru, I'm sure. How could he possibly doubt Haru as his son. Even if Ruby sees Haru, she will know that Haru is Daniel's son. Haru's face really looks like Daniel, there's no way Daniel would doubt it.” Lucas rubbed Jenny's back, trying to calm her down.
Lucas understood that Jenny always felt guilty for the abuse that happened to her in the past, even though the one who should feel guilty is the perpetrator not the victim. Lucas was actually very happy when he heard of Mark's death. Lucas thinks Mark deserves it. A tragic end.
