I told him I would wait for him on Friday. Why is my heart beating so slow? I feel like I'm going to choke. Breathing is a task. That hard. I wish he had come early. The candle in the middle of the table is the only light in my house. I saw how the candle kept dripping. Like crying for me. Or with me?
Feels weird. It's not what I want. I have other plans. But why does it hurt? Why do I still make myself believe that he's coming? I also cannot understand my mind. It's hard to explain. Even though I didn't expect him to come, I was there, sitting, waiting.
Lucas told me that hope usually causes heartache. I wasn't expecting. I knew Ruby was coming. She loves me. Am I confusing? Am I starting to hallucinate?
...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...
Jenny took off the robe all over her body as she stepped into the bathtub. He made sure there were a lot of bubbles. She used her favorite scented bath gel, to make sure the scent lasted longer on her skin.
Resting the back of her head on the edge of the bathtub, she smiled to herself while humming. Today was Friday, the day he had been waiting for came.
Jenny picked up the wine and took a sip, her smile never escaping from her face. She's expecting tonight with Ruby. He closed his eyes thinking about his future with the man he thought made him fall in love and happy.
"Yes?" Jenny's eyes were still closed as she answered the knock on the bathroom door.
"Has Ruby been tonight?" lucas asked, leaning his back against the door.
Jenny opened her eyes. Lucas could see the happiness in it and it extended to Jenny's lips, and perhaps, to every part of her.
"You know me very well" Jenny took another sip from the wine glass. Jenny rarely spoke in such a tone. From his voice, Lucas knows that Jenny's happiness is more than just a curve in her mouth.
"You won't soak in the tub without a special occasion. Don't drink too much."
"I asked him to choose."
Lucas's eyes, which were about to come out of the bathroom, looked at Jenny and lingered. She couldn't understand why Jenny did that when she told her before she knew where she was standing. "You crazy?!"
Jenny grinned and acted flipping her hair. "I am" then the grin disappeared and his face darkened. "That's what you believe in that damn doctor, right?"
" Jenny, please stop-"
"And what do you want Ruby to believe, am I right? You all said I was crazy. When is finding true love a crazy thing to do? Isn't that normal?" Jenny suddenly looked like she was going to cry and that made Lucas even more worried.
" Jenny, no. That's not what I meant. You're not crazy. You just need to take things in stride. Please, you will only end up ruined if you insist on Ruby. She's already married-"
"He'll leave it. Stop preaching. I made him choose between me and his lying wife. I'm good at thinking about it, right? Because I knew she'd vote for me" Jenny grinned and her face looked proud. .
" Jenny, not smart with a married man. Especially thinking of revenge."
"So you mean I'm stupid?"
"NO!"
Jenny nodded and poured the wine into the tub. "I have resigned. I'm not going to the office anymore. I can decide for myself. I'm not a kid, you know."
Lucas stared at the ceiling while combing his hair with his fingers. "And what if he doesn't choose you? What if he chooses his family over you?"
Jenny's expression changed. His eyes were emitting fire as anger started to pour out from his chest. He suddenly banged the wine glass into the bathtub then picked up a piece that fell to the floor. Lucas could see blood from Jenny's finger and he began to feel more anxious.
Lucas thought he forgot how to breathe. This was the reason why he did not leave that morning. Jenny was acting strange. " Jenny, please don't do anything silly."
Jenny laughed hysterically as she dropped the broken glass onto the floor. He leaned his head against the bathtub and his bleeding finger. "I'm not a bastard to kill someone. I'm sure Ruby will be home tonight. And when I say go home, of course, that's what I mean. So go and meet Rania. Or if you have something to do, do it. I'm doing fine. Leave me alone."
Jenny makes Lucas frustrated and always scares him. She has trouble predicting Jenny's true emotions because Jenny can change her mood so quickly. He picks up the broken glass from the floor because he's not sure what Jenny can do.
Lucas stood up and looked at Jenny, annoyed. "If you want wine, take your pant*t out of the tub and drink it outside," she slid out of the room before Jenny could say something else.
...****************...
I'll leave tomorrow and never come back. I just want to say goodbye to you. Sorry and thank you.
Jenny read the message she received this morning, no matter how many times she read it. It was late in the afternoon until he decided and ventured to come see Daniel.
Being at Daniel's doorstep, it didn't take long for the door to open after he rang the bell.
“I didn't expect you to come,” Daniel said nervously when he saw Jenny.
“Yes. I just want to see you for the last time before you go.”
Daniel walks Jenny in, sits in the living room. They were very clumsy, after the chaos that had occurred for several days. For the first time they spoke again.
“Where are you going?” Jenny looked at Daniel doubtfully. Daniel looked different than usual. He looked tired and sad. Unlike Daniel who is always cheerful and laughing.
“I'll go to canada. I want to start a new life. I want Leo to grow up well, without experiencing any trauma to the family.”
“True. Now that you've become a father,” Jenny sighed heavily. Looking at Daniel. “Do you love Leo? Even though he is a kid you didn't plan on?”
“At first I was very confused, I never thought about having a family. But, deep down, I know I'm lonely. After learning that I became a father. I was happy and scared, I was scared because I was a bad person. I just don't want my son to be ashamed of having a father like me.”
“Do not think like that. I'm pretty sure you'll be a good father.” Jenny smiled at Daniel. “Leo where is it?”
“He is sleeping. He was still a bit confused by his suddenly changed state. I'll take her to a child psychiatrist after arriving in canada.”
“Yes. That's the right decision. Then I'll go home. I'm glad you're okay.”
Jenny was about to leave but Daniel pulled her wrist. “You okay?” Daniel looked into Jenny's eyes.
“Of course I'm fine. Today is Friday’at and Ruby will meet me.” Jenny smiled.
“You love Ruby? You sure?” Daniel kept staring at Jenny, wanting to find honesty in his eyes.
“Of course, you know it.”
"Jen, you know what? when you're sad you can cry, it doesn't mean you're weak. Don't hide the pain for too long." Jenny turned her face away as tears began to well up when she heard Daniel say.
"I don't understand what you mean. I'm fine.I'll go, goodbye." Jenny left Daniel looking at her worriedly.
