29. Not Feeling Pain

Then Willa put her palm on Steven's cheek and said to Steven by looking at Steven's eyes deeply and her tears began to fall onto his cheek unconsciously.

"Do you know anything Steven? Even after my death, I will continue to love you in my grave. Even if I die, the love I have for you will never die with me. But it will all continue to live forever. My love will never end, you are my last love."

'Huk... Huk...'

Willa coughed and spat out blood.

When Steven saw the blood coming out from within Willa's mouth, he involuntarily cried out very loudly and also sounded as though he had been so excited.

"Someone calls an ambulance..." Shouted Steven in a stammering voice.

The truck that hit Willa immediately fled, while the police car continued to chase the large truck.

Willa kept talking to Steven as she held onto Steven's cheeks with both palms looking towards Steven's eyes and smiling at Steven with her eyes still filled with tears.

"Don't cry, your eyes shouldn't cry. What are those tears for? Your tears are more precious than anything in life, even more precious than me. So your tears should not come out of your eyes for anything in this world. If you cry because you think that I feel pain, you're wrong. I've told you before, but you didn't trust me until now. When you feel so much pain inside you, something like this will never even make you feel any pain. Do you think that everything I'm feeling right now hurts so much? Just so you know, the pain inside me hurts a lot more than my body feels right now."

"You can imagine how much I wished to die in your arms. I don't care what happens to me as long as I'm in your arms. I don't care what I'm going through, as long as I end up dead in your arms."

'Huk... Huk... Huk...'

Willa coughed again and spat out more blood.

"Stop talking. The ambulance is coming soon." Steven sobbed.

Actually Steven could have taken Willa in his own car. But, with Willa's condition like that, Steven really will not be able to focus on driving. Moreover, his current self seemed so shocked and trembling.

Then Willa smiled with her smile that looked so sweet and said to Steven again.

"Do you think I'm sad? That's not true, I'm actually very happy because at the end of my life, my only wish could be fulfilled by my death in your arms. Only one thing I wish for, if I didn't know anything about it that you'd marry another woman than I do, that's the most painful thing in my heart."

'Huk... Huk... Huk...'

Willa coughed again. Steven looked at the blood coming out of Willa's mouth.

"If you think that the blood coming out of my mouth was because I was so violently hit by a truck, you're totally wrong. Do you know why? Because my heart has been bleeding for so many years that it continues to hurt me mercilessly. But in the end I couldn't get that blood out of me."

"I'm so happy that I can finally let go of all the pain that's been going on inside me. With this blood coming out, I can finally make myself free."

'Huk.... Huk... Huk...'

Willa coughed again.

Willa put both palms on Steven's cheeks, looked into his eyes, smiled at him and with blood still coming out of his mouth, Willa said to Steven.

"Although I wish that you could find another love, it makes me sad because so far, I can't accept the fact that there's another woman who can come into your life besides me. Believe me, that I keep feeling jealous of you, even if I'm already in my grave. To think that there was another woman who could come into your life except me, made me feel really hurt. I wish my heart was made of stone. I wish if my heart couldn't be hurt, then nothing could tear my heart apart in this way."

"Do you think that I'm sad because I'm going to die? You're wrong, because I'm so happy. Because in the end my eyes can see you who are still in good health. I've seen your death every day in my dreams. I thought that it was a nightmare, but sometimes the reality can be worse than a nightmare."

Steven held onto his chest that was hurting from seeing the sadness in Willa's eyes, as Willa said again.

"Do you think I believe that you're not the person I love? Even though I've seen you die before my eyes, and my mama also told me that. But I will never believe it, for you are my soul and I am the only one who can recognize my own soul. I can recognize my breath, even I can recognize the scent of your body. Tell me, how can there be two men who are so exactly alike in this world?"

"So you're my husband. Even if the whole world denies that and says you're not him, don't trust them. You have to trust others who can even recognize your heartbeat."

"I wish you could live happily. I wish you could achieve all your dreams. I hope life treats you well. But behind all that, I always hoped you could have a happy life without any pain without having to face any sadness."

Huk... Huk... Huk...

Willa coughed again and spat out blood.

Willa continued to hold Steven's face with her palm and continued to stare into Steven's eyes and smile at Steven.

"I'm so happy and grateful to you for giving me such a happy time. I've even been through my life like an undead for a long time. But you made me breathe again. You make me laugh, cry, you can carve a smile on my face, you give me the love I've always wanted. Thank you for your last love, stay happy. Stay healthy, and remember to keep smiling."

Then Willa stopped talking and her hand fell off and she finally lost her consciousness.

It was then that Steven shouted very loudly and his hand pressed down towards Willa's chest continuously very hard and his tears kept falling like river water on his cheek.
