The promise of life in the city

Adam was scratching the end of the pillow with his index finger when the door of his room was knocked.

" Come in, unlocked ", Adam thought it must be his father knocking on the door.

It turns out he was wrong, his younger sister Hani who came.

" Mas Adam.." Hani hugged his older brother.

Hani laughed at hearing all of that.

Hani nodded, then gave Sekar's mobile number to Mas Adam.

" Okay, I'm staying. Adam take a break", Hani then comes out of his sister's room.

Not waiting long, Adam immediately contacted Sekar who might have just returned from his home.

The young girl was of course excited to get a call from Mas Adam who said he wanted to meet alone tomorrow afternoon at a restaurant in their city.

He thought the grown man wanted to get to know him more closely.

The next day, Sekar was waiting at his place and Mas Adam promised to meet.

Before long, Mas Adam also came to Sekar who had sat down to order a drink.

" Are you done with your school hours?", asked Adam when he arrived.

Sekar nodded, not answering with a word. This woman seems to have almost the same nature as Dena.

Sekar just shook his head, in his heart he hoped Mas Adam came to talk about the continuation of their relationship.

Adam rubbed his face, the girl before him was like being confined by the rules of his parents. So it seems that he did not enjoy his adolescence like other girls who had felt "monkey love.

" Why then would you accept being betrothed to me who is almost twice your age?", asked Mas Adam again.

Now looking down embarrassed, he could not say that he really liked Mas Adam.

" Because I wanted to show my filial piety to Dad", a simple answer came out of his mouth.

Adam thought that was what he was going to hear.

" Secar, look at me", Adam asked Sekar not to bow.

The woman raised her head, looking at Mas Adam.

" You're so young, there's still so many dreams you have to pursue out there. Finish your college, show your dad you're capable of managing all his business".

" Married to me is not the way out to show your obedience to your parents" Mas Adam said with a calm intonation.

Just biting his lips, his body broke out in cold sweat hearing Mas Adam's words just now. He knew it was a very subtle form of rejection from the man.

" Hear me, I cannot marry you. Marriage is not a trivial thing that only concerns our parents. But also about how we spend a lifetime with our loved ones" Mas Adam said again, he remembered very well the failure of his household with Lisa because of love problems in his heart.

" You want to help me? I beg you to tell your father that you won't marry me. Help me Sekar, only you can give me a way out. I have the promise of life there, with my woman" said Mas Adam as he reached for Sekar's hand. It was like talking to his sister.

Sekar finally nodded, as easy as it turned out to give understanding to this young girl.

" Thank you if you want to help me, you're so young. You have plenty of opportunities to decide which man you're getting married to. Marry a man who loves you too".

" But I, I'm old to adventure with love. I don't want anyone else in my life, except the woman who's been making me wait all those years".

Sekar understood and felt how deep Mas Adam's love for the woman he told me about earlier. He did not want to impose the will of their parents and make this man tormented.

" Okay, I'll tell my father to cancel our arranged marriage" Sekar said despite the weight he received.

" Thank you again, I don't want anyone to be disappointed. So I don't want to be rash about getting married".

" Believe me, one day there will be a man you love and he will love you too".

That afternoon they separated and went home. Adam is grateful that one problem he has solved, just waiting for how Om Vishnu will tell his father.

After the meeting with Sekar, Adam could not bear to contact Dena after last night he felt deadlocked by the new problems that his parents offered.

See how the woman he loves always captivates him for some good reason.

It is the most hidden feeling, even if it is just saying long, Adam took the quietest time to express it.
