CHAPTERS 70. I'M STILL ALIVE

Arriving at the hospital, Liona got out of the car and ran in. Both the bodyguards and Bastian chased after from behind. “Please enter madam.” said a bodyguard when the elevator door opened.

“Tell me, how is Reynard?” ask Liona to Bastian.

Upon their arrival on the fourth floor, they headed straight for the VIP room where Reynard was being treated. The condition is good, only suffered a tear in the forehead due to hit the car window. The driver is still in critical condition. Liona sat next to Reynard's bed that was still unconscious. “Reynard darling...build! Open your eyes, don't scare me Rey!” liona said sobbing. His hand caressed Reynard's pale face.

A doctor and nurse entered the treatment room. “Sorry mistress. We're interrupting for a second. We want to check patients.”

“Doctor how is he doing?” ask Liona.

“Mr Reynard has had surgery. There are injuries caused by being hit by a car window, but there are serious things that may take a long time to heal. His left leg is broken but has been operated on, he will need further therapy later.”

Liona's cry grew louder, she sobbed knowing Reynard's condition was not as good as Bastian had said to her earlier.

“When will he wake up, doctor?”

“Maybe in about an hour the effects of the anesthetic are gone. This is a drug that must be consumed, this drug is a painkiller can be given if he feels pain. We will come back later to check after he regained consciousness.” after explaining and answering some questions from Liona, the doctor and nurse came out of the treatment room.

Bastian asks both of Liona's bodyguards to go home to look after Elvano, who is currently at home with her caregiver. Felicia was taken by her grandmother and grandfather to the main house of the Wilfred family.

The flashback

Upon hearing the news that Reynard was in an accident, his parents decided to pick Felicia up to school. But when they got to school, they saw the driver was waiting for the two children.

“Good afternoon Sir, Madam.” greet the driver when he sees Abraham Wilfred and his wife Davina.

“You just go home, we will take Felicia home.” Davina said.

“But I ordered Mr. Reynard to pick up Miss Felicia and Elvano.”

“What did you say? My son told you to pick up the girl?”

“True Big Mistress, This car was damaged so Mr. Reynard was picked up by Mrs Liona's driver. Whereas I was ordered to pick up the kids.”

“Mistress...mrs! Who told you to call him that!”

“Sorry Big Mistress. I was just following Mr. Reynard.”, the driver bowed his head.

“You just bring the girl's son home. Felicia will come with us. Reynard was in the hospital.” said Davina, suddenly her face was bright when she saw Felicia coming out of the school gate while holding hands with Elvano.

“Grandpa! Did grandma and grandpa come to pick me up?” asked Felicia tilting her head to look at the driver who picked her up. He looks like he's looking for someone.

“Feli dear...grandfather and grandmother come to pick you up. Today you stayed at my grandmother's house. Your dad is sick so grandma will take care of you.”

“Really? Will mama Liona and sister also stay?” ask Felicia again. “Papa hurts again?” Hearing her grandson's question about Liona made Davina upset.

“No. Only you will stay at grandma's.”

“But why? I always slept with my mom and sister. At home, whose grandmother will be the same Feli? Where's papa?”

“And there are grandparents and grandparents. Felicia can sleep with us if you don't want to sleep alone in your room.” explains Davina. “Your father is being treated at the hospital. Tomorrow we look at your papa.”

With a heavy heart Felicia followed her grandparents. “Do not pout. At home grandma many servants that you can invite to play.” persuade Davina when she saw her grandson's face pouting.

Flashback off

Reynard was still unconscious, Liona still sitting beside the bed holding the man's hand. His eyes were swollen from constantly crying. Bastian came in with two paper bags filled with food and a change of clothes. “This I brought food and change of clothes for you.” said Bastian handed over the two paperbags. Liona picked it up and moved to sit on the sofa and started eating.

After eating, she took a shower and changed clothes. He suddenly remembered that he had not spoken to his son, and then he grabbed a cell phone from the bag and called Elvano.

“Halo mama where?”

“El. Papa Reynard is being treated here. Are you with Felicia now?” asked Liona worriedly.

“Tadi Felicia was picked up by her grandparents. I went home with the driver and I was home with the nanny. Mama...Can I go to the hospital with you.”

“What? Felicia brought her grandparents?”

“Iya ma. But they won't let me come. It seems like they don't like me.”

“Hmm. Maybe because they don't know you. Don't be sad, tomorrow you meet your sister at school, right? Have you eaten?”

“Already Ma. There was a waiter cooking a lot of food but only I ate.”

“Ya. You rest yes, tomorrow mama tell the driver to bring her here.”

“Ok mom.”

Coinciding as Liona closed the call, she glanced at Reynard. Her heart became sad considering that they should be out for dinner tonight together. His tears broke again, slowly he walked towards the bed and sat down beside. “Rey! Why aren't you awake? I'm afraid I'm afraid to see you like this. I miss you. Do you not want to live anymore? You don't love me and the kids anymore?”

Liona cried while laying her head in bed. His hand held Reynard's fingers. He did not realize that Reynard had opened his eyes and heard all of his words. “I'm alive.”

“Ah!….” Liona was shocked to hear the sound. His head lifted and looked at Reynard and was also staring at him. So happy, Liona immediately hugged Reynard.

“Honey! Rey....you're aware.”

“Uhhhh...sick.” Oozed Reynard who felt pain because Liona hugged him tightly.

“Ma—maaf. I was not intentionally. You are conscious. I'll call doctor soon.” Liona pressed the button beside the bed, before long the doctor and nurse came.

After being examined by a doctor and explaining his condition. Now only the two of them are in the room. “Do you feel pain in your leg?”

“Iya, it hurts so.”ujar Reynard pretended to moan. His left leg was wrapped in a cast and he did not feel anything because of the effect of injections given by doctors to reduce pain in the leg.

“What can I do for you? Tell me, how do I reduce your pain?” asked Liona worriedly.

"Lay beside me to calm me down."

"This is not the time to joke Mr. Reynard!"

"You why? I'm just asking you to lie next to me. Or maybe you...."
