CHAPTERS 109. YOU OWE ME

Unlike Nesti, Adam was much calmer and never did anything bad to Liona. He was a husband who was under the control of his wife and since the birth of Vena, both ignored Liona who was only an adopted child. Adam was as cruel as Hesti.

“Liona, is this really you?” Adam asked doubtfully. Unlike Nesti who was acting ordinary, but Adam was a little surprised.

She had seen Liona standing in front of her when they arrived but she did not recognize her daughter's face. They hadn't met for four years and Liona had changed a lot. Her eyes instantly sparkled as she looked at her beautiful and graceful daughter. She couldn't help but feel excited and walked over, “Are--are you really Liona?”

“Ya, it's me.” replied Liona coldly.

Adam was so excited that the hue of his face turned red. “Liona, weren't you dead four years ago?”

“Why? Do you want me dead?” reply Liona with sarcasm.

“Oh no....not at all! Don't misunderstand your father, I'm just happy to see you here. How did it really happen? Why don't you go home if you're still alive? I really thought you were dead after that.”

Liona just silently listened to her foster father's excited voice. But somehow his foster father's expression was like he was not happy he was still alive. If to be honest, he had given up and did not want to consider them his adoptive parents anymore, Liona was reluctant to deal and have a relationship with the family. Liona was very familiar with the nature of her foster father and she dared to say that her foster father was as cruel as Nesti.

Adam never worked or made money like a head of the family should. Instead, he always asked Liona for money and even hoped that later his children would finance his life. Seeing the enthusiastic attitude shown by these two ruthless humans made Liona convinced that they had hidden intentions. Otherwise, how could they possibly know where Liona lived. “Now you know I'm alive, tell me what you really want? How do you know I live here while no one else knows.” Liona said coldly.

Hearing Liona's cold words, the two people exchanged glances. Suddenly Adam smiled and said, “Liona, you are my most precious daughter. I hope you want to come home with us. We miss you so much, maybe you can take your time to have lunch together at home. We know you now live a luxurious life and are able to have a house as luxurious as this but wouldn't it be more fun if we families could get together?”

When Adam spoke, his eyes reddened and he rubbed his eyes excessively as if he was forcing himself to cry. “I never thought our family would regroup like it used to.” Adam said in a choked voice. Liona gasped in shock and fear on the spot as she looked at her foster father's behavior. The man is not a typical good role model father, the man is full of cunning wits that only benefit himself.

‘Gather together he said? Huh! What does it mean they want to stay in this house? The dream! Besides this house is not mine but Reynard's, even if it's my house I won't let these cunning people stay with me. Basic balu!’ he said in his heart.

“Sorry, I'm going to rest. It's night anyway. I also can't gather with you guys anymore let alone eat together kalin, which there might be me poisoned to death like before. Didn't we? You always wanted my death.”

“Huh! My parents are long dead! You've taken very good care of you, don't worry I'll pay for all the expenses you've incurred. I don't think much because since the age of nine I worked for my own money to buy food and my needs.”

“Liona...”.

“Do you intend to sell me as you have tried to do in the past? Do you think you want to take away my treasure after you know I'm not the poor girl I used to be?”

“Liona! What you said is not true! Why would I do all that? All I want is for my daughter to live happily and marry a good man.”.

“Oh yes? Is that really your intention? Who's the good guy you have in mind? A rich old man? Then how did you know I lived here? Are you guys stalking me or hiring someone to stalk me?”

“Stop Liona! I'm your father! How dare you speak disrespectfully to me? I did my best for your good. You are a woman with one child, you must marry a good man who can accept you. Aren't you thinking about your good name?”

“You'd better go home. I'm tired and don't want to hear anything from you! In the future you better not take care of my life anymore, just take care of your son Vena!”

Adam's previously affectionate-looking face suddenly darkened and cold. “Liona, how dare you kick us out!” he stared at Liona sharply.

“You can go now dad. You know what kind of life I've been living for the past few years. I'm free now and I won't jump into another hell because of you guys. Thank you for everything you've done for me all this time. Since today I have nothing to do with your family anymore! Please don't intersect and disrupt my life again in the future.”

After hearing Liona's words, Adam narrowed his eyes and pouted. He could not believe that Liona would behave like that to them. “Oh one more thing! You don't have to care about me and my son, I've found a very nice man for me who will take care of me and love me. She and her family are my family now so I won't let you come to this house again and bother me!”

Adam's reddened face restrained his anger, “Alright if that's your decision! But let's get things straight first, you owe me a lot. I gave you shelter, food and clothes. I sent you eighteen years. Now I'm getting older and I need some monthly money from my kids. So you understand what I mean, don't you?”

“I don't owe you anything! How dare you say you raised me? You took me from the orphanage when I was a little girl and since I was nine I've been working to finance my own school and my needs. You never even gave me a dime. Do you know when my birthday is? Do you remember when I graduated from school? Remember when you bought me clothes?”
