I want to Find Him

I want to Find Him
CHAPTRE 16

For four days my parents were not home. I live my life as usual. I mean, when my parents were busy traveling out of town for work. It feels tiring to have to chase an oplet every morning. Because the last few months I've always been at school with Dad. Living my old habits is very difficult for me now. Having almost gotten used to living like any other child.

Now I am chatting with my friends in the Whatsapp group. We were talking about my repeat result which made them cluck in disbelief. Yes, I got a value that far bounced from my previous repetition. Even my incomplete grades have been fixed thanks to Rain's help. And Bu Mega looks very happy with my change.

"Dad! Can you open the door, please?" Pekik Kak Ina from the kitchen.

It was so exciting to chat, that I did not realize the sound of knocking on the door coming from outside. I got off the couch and went to the door that was knocking. I opened that door too. And how surprised I was when I saw the figure of Rain standing there.

"Rain's. What are you doing out here tonight?" I asked in wonder.

He grunts. "I thought I was invited here" he replied.

"Huh?" I don't understand what Rain means. "Well, let's go in first. It's a little late anyway. Later the neighbors will think no more."

I also shifted from my previous position to give Rain entry. Then I closed the door and locked it again. After that, I met Rain who had been sitting on the sofa. I asked him why he came to my house. He also said that he was invited by Kak Ina to stay at my house. Brother Ina also approached us with three drinks on the napan. He handed us the drink. Then he joined us sitting on the sofa.

"That's what Rain said, Han. Brother who hired Rain here." Said Kak Ina just confirmed Rain's speech just now.

"But why, brother?" I asked very curiously.

"So of course, my brother is leaving early tomorrow. Maybe from dawn" replied Ina.

"Huh? Where is my brother going?" I was really shocked when Ina said that she was leaving tomorrow.

"Sister must go home. Brother's son is sick, Dek. So, Brother should take care of her until she is healed. Brother already said, same Mother. And he's allowing, really."

"Keep me how?" I asked who was starting to worry. No way, I stayed with Rain for a few days.

"Hem.. Next week, Adek is off. So, because tomorrow is Friday and school hours are faster than usual, the Friday Prayer Adek and Rain can go immediately after Mother."

Suddenly me and Rain immediately clucked in shock. I never thought I should go with Rain. Especially there we will stay long enough. Yep.. Probably two weeks. I was worried that Rain would get bored with me like a bodyguard.

"Eh, why, go with Rain anyway, brother? I can take a taxi or other transportation" Tukasku.  "I don't feel good about Rain anyway." I said as I turned towards Rain who was also looking at me.

He was smiling too. "You never did, repotin me. In fact, I would be bothered if you went alone. It will be a burden on my mind" Rain said.

I'm speechless. There's no word I can say anymore. Is he really so attentive to me? Brother Ina just kept quiet while a little smile observed the two of us. "Well, I'm going to sleep first." I also stood up from the sofa intending to leave Kak Ina and Rain. However, Rain held my hand. "You think I'm gonna sleep in a room this big alone. Let's get our equipment to sleep." Said Rain with a face that looked strange. Yep.. Don't think I'm afraid of that silly face.

The final lesson time was over, and the bell went off. The parking lot was filled by students who were busy removing their motorbikes from the row. And it's this kind of opportunity that I use to break through the school fence safely.

I was shocked when I saw Grandpa's pickup parked across the street. There, Rain was sitting on a steering chair whose glass was wide open. He came out when he saw me standing in front of the gate. Then, cross the street to meet me.

"Hany?" Suddenly Brother Fatha was standing right beside me. I looked at him and smiled in response to his greeting. "Eh, Brother Fatha."

"Why are you here?" He also saw the situation around us. "After waiting for people, huh? Who's home?" I have not yet answered the question Brother Fatha Rain has reached where we stand.

"Yok, Han, we're home." Bring Rain.

I feel bad if I leave Brother Fatha just like that. Before leaving I tried to mince Rain to Brother Fatha.

"Start, Rain." I also looked at Brother Fatha. "I don't know this Rain, my childhood friend." Rain stretched out his hand to shake.

Brother Fatha also returned Rain's hand. "Fatha" she said.

"Rain, this is Brother Fatha, who's been teaching me how to study chemistry."

Rain smiled at Fatha. "Oh, so you're Hany's private tutor. Hany told me about you. He said you were.." Rain looked at me with a stern look. I also directly lubricated Rain with a pinch on his arm. "What the hell, Rain" I blushed in embarrassment. Rain only chuckled crisply, while Sister Fatha looked strange with her face that looked uncomfortable. "Oh yeah, brother, I got Rain. We have to hurry home because we have to pack."

"Where are you guys going?" Ask Brother Fatha very curious.

"We're going to the hospital to see my grandmother who's sick. Anyway, next week it's off for the twelfth grade, so Rain and I are going to finish vacation there." I clearly. "Then we say yes, brother. Assalamu'alaikum."

"Getishalam."

I left Brother Fatha who was sculpting in front of the gate while watching us leave. While Rain only scowled towards Sister Fatha before she followed me towards Grandpa's pickup truck parked across the street. Brother Fatha and Rain's meeting was awkward. There was something strange I had just witnessed. From the way Sister Fatha saw Rain, as well as how Rain gave Sister Fatha a smile before we left, it all felt unusual. Yet already. I'm sure this is just my prejudice. After all, it is impossible for Rain and Brother Fatha to know each other. How close Rain is to Indonesians. Maybe I'm the only native he knows.

Now I've been sitting in the seat next to Rain. The sound of the engine began to sound. I still had time to see Brother Fatha who was still watching us from across the street. Before the car glass was sealed by Rain.
