Being Strong On Your Own

Being Strong On Your Own
Chapter 07: Reasons

Both Grey and Irena kept swinging their swords, they (monsters) knew no fear and kept fighting back.

This was the distant difference from the monsters in the dungeon and outside. Slashing several heads of rats, Irena was about to use magic but was prevented by Grey from killing them first.

"Why can't I use magic?"

"They all reacted with magic, it was a kind of provocation that made them even more aggressive."

"You mean they're turning crazy."

"You could say so."

"If so I'll be careful again, you should tell me first."

"I thought you'd been to a dungeon."

"No, my party members only operate in abandoned human cities we just explored goblin cities."

"The city is."

"Have you been there?"

"It used to be when we started out as adventurers."

"so."

Grey could tell that Irena's member was likely a novice, he wanted to ask her further the reason but he ended up pondering because it might be something he shouldn't ask.

They resumed the investigation after pacing between the first and third floors, it was useful to see if there was a trap or any secret route.

When the two were convinced they had just proceeded to the next floor filled with giant thorny frogs on its back, as they spun they shot thorns which made the two hide behind rocks.

"I'll divert it, you go ahead."

When the attack ended, Grey darted forward. The frog did not stay still, he used his tongue which had a sharp tip like a spear, as Grey's sword held it in place creating a metal spark that spread into the air.

His body was pushed and the next attack was directed back, from left to right, then from top to bottom. Grey's tongue to the left suddenly changed direction and whipped himself from the side until he flew into the wall of the cave.

Irena who had been behind the frog slashed it with a double sword move called "Spining Slash" splitting it from the stomach beautifully.

"You okay?"

"No problem."

"What did you write?"

"They are not good if fought together, I think the adventurers who will enter this place should bring the paralysis potion or so on when they are surrounded."

"I don't care if you're very thorough, but you better think about you first."

Irena could see the blood slashing from her stomach. Unless the helmets Grey wears from underneath are just plain clothes, some adventurers sometimes choose not to use protectors to keep their speed from diminishing. Grey may be one of them.

The wounds on Grey's body had healed unbeknownst to Irena, there were two reasons why Grey did not join the other group. The thing like he was traumatized to see his comrades killed was a lie.

The job of being an adventurer is like that, even from them no one knows when death will come.

First he tries to hide his true identity as a vampire from others and sometimes he needs time to drink blood without anyone knowing.

Thirsty blood was already innate from vampires, Anabeth was like that too but she chose to drink animal blood just like Grey.

And the second is so that Grey can get stronger quickly without caring about anything, if he is injured his body will heal itself temporarily if with others he must think about the safety of everyone at the same time to limit his movement space.

Grey is an adventurer who can be solo player.
