"What do you want?" asked Grey in a flat tone.
"You want to go to the dungeon, don't you? Can I come with you?"
"What kind of intentions are you hiding."
Irena grabbed onto Grey's collar as she stared through the hidden crevices of her helmet. This was a disrespectful act but adventurers were used to being rude. They are not nobles who have to maintain manners and act like sneaky people.
"Because your attitude is what makes others misunderstand," she pushed him a little before continuing," but I'm sure you're not a bad person, it just so happens that my group is on holiday.. I don't have a job so let me come with you."
"I work alone."
"You're this? Just for a while, tomorrow my members will also return, and I promise I won't bother you anymore."
Grey dropped his shoulders limp.
"Just this time, after that.."
"I know I'm gonna stay away from you."
After informing Mary, the two finally walked away to the dungeon in question. They passed through the rocky mountain to get to the location.
After the Undead King wiped out half of the human race, dungeons began to appear near the remaining human settlements, when the moon was red, all monsters from within the dungeon would surface and simultaneously destroy the nearest village or town, to minimize the number of adventurers taking this quest to kill them.
Grey reached out his hand to help Irena up.
His attitude is like a real adventurer, with morals and concern for his colleagues even though he does not like it, it is strange that people should not be in groups with anyone, Irena thought.
From what Irena had heard, Grey had lost his partner in the first wave but somehow she survived even though she had since started covering her face as well as reducing interaction with other adventurous companions.
Even though his attitude was so he still cared about his own way, that was why he took on a volunteer quest that was always ignored by other adventurers.
Compared to anyone, he is a very good person.
Irena was a little amazed by him.
Sometimes within the dungeons that appeared, there were precious items such as treasure chests, powerful weapons and even rare parchments. No one knew how it was all there, which was obviously possible that the dungeon was actually made to attract a lot of people in.
From what Grey knows, dungeons rich in magic energy are likely dungeons also require human energy entering them as an effort to create monsters.
This reason had also been anticipated by the Risol city guild or the other border guilds, so that the few people killed by the guild gave an investigation quest like the one Grey was using now for upper-middle-level adventurers. Grey is an exception in itself.
Each floor explore, Grey will create maps including the identity of monsters that appear on each floor, infinite one type sometimes in dungeons filled with different creatures.
Irena uses both of her swords to kill some of the big rats that are on them, unlike the other monsters they understand a cooperation and how they fight to take down the enemy.
Grey wrote down all his observations.
"They are quite difficult to handle, I think this dungeon can be entered by adventurers of silver level."
"I see, so this place is no match for iron and bronze levels," to Grey's words, Irena nodded her head in agreement.
After filling out road sketches and monsters, Grey gets involved in the fight. He swung his sword to kill the rats.
They were half a meter in size with red eyes and lined teeth. Their movement is fast too.
One mouse bit his arm which was intentional.
"With a bite like this low equipment can also hold it for several times."
"You did it just to find out."
"I made a note different than the one requested from the guild."
"You're really doing your job to the fullest."
Grey finished off the rat and then removed the protector in his hand after his evaluation was complete.
