Chapter 48: Attack Part One

After the rain stopped they began to move again the next morning, because the rain fell last night their steps were slightly hampered by mud even so they continued to advance.

The capital is visible from where they hide, the, attacking directly was not a strategy so they were forced to sneak under the sewers and climb up through the stairs and out of the hole in the silent alley.

This was how Alexia was able to escape as well, from here lay the palace closer, having conveyed the strategy they had made... they spread out onto the sidewalk while Grey and Alexia took different paths.

Irena sticks out a fist at him.

"We'll make it."

"Well." Yeah."

As soon as none of the guards could figure out their whereabouts, in this place there were several guard posts which was why everyone would secretly cripple them without making a fuss that made all the residents afraid.

Two guards try to stop the figure of Grey and Alexia who immediately walk into the alley, when they follow, Grey beat them both to the ground.

The city was surrounded by a high wall with cannons placed on it, all this defense was the most powerful thing to prevent the waves, Grey was a little disappointed that previously something like this was not applied in the border city. But he chose to put that aside. He now has a much more important task than that. That is returning the figure of Alexia to be the heir to the kingdom.

Grey and Alexia nodded at each other then walked to the public streets to blend in with the pedestrians. Simultaneously an explosion echoed elsewhere.

"We got caught quickly, now what?" alexia asked, calmly answered.

"We'll just run to the palace."

"Good."

The soldiers outside the city would definitely enter the city soon, their plan to finish everything without any commotion had clearly failed.

The palace guards had been on standby at the gate, Grey wielding the Via sword that had been on his back since, with a single slash in the air they were thrown far back, behind them, knock down the gates until they can enter through the palace grounds.

By sending all the soldiers outside, the palace was clearly the place where the least amount of guard was, and just as the two entered the area of the throne one greeted them.

"As far as I'm concerned you're really coming to my place."

"If you know that, why not strengthen the defense here" Grey replied.

"Certainly because I don't need it, I myself have defeated you enough.I want to kill the royal with my own hands as I killed the king."

Alexia was about to step forward after taking out her dagger but Grey stopped her immediately.

"Take it easy."

Hearing these words the princess retreated and saw the prime minister standing in her seat. He spread his hand haughtily.

"Just accept that this is the end of humanity, by following the request of the Undead King, then we can maintain the continuity of all of us."

"In short you want to sacrifice dozens of people to save yourself."

"That's my goal, at least humans can survive."

"Compared to your will it is better for us to fight for the future and die together, if a human dies it is better than being enslaved by them" Grey replied with a hint of angry intonation in it.

"It's up to you to say what because the results will remain the same."

The prime minister took something in his hand, it resembled a lump of red meat that he ate voraciously.

Simultaneously his body now turned into a kind of demon, with the addition of two other eyes on his cheek.

"Ah, this power is amazing."

He looks younger than his age.
