Chapter 22: Self-Containment

The red moon theory is a tragedy in which the entire territory of the three kingdoms is enclosed by an invisible protective wall that causes the moon to look so colorful. The protector was obviously made by the Undead King and also had a curse called a zombie outbreak or death curse.

Since their appearance no one has buried a person in the ground, they tend to be burned until they turn to dust and if they defeat creatures like undead they must also use holy magic to purify them.

That was the big picture that Arina said when they finished breakfast.

"So above us there's some kind of protector," Grey confirmed once again and Arina nodded in agreement.

"I have tried to go further and further away from the three kingdoms precisely in the cold region and see it as well as possible, there is a white moon like what we know, there, from there I decided to stay."

It was hard to see the change of the moon other than if someone had gone to a place very far away and Arina had done just that on her own.

Anabeth.

"We already know how the red moon was created and the curse it was given but why does the red moon not appear every night, and how do we destroy it?"

"The reason why the red moon does not appear at all times is most likely because the energy of the curse has not been collected completely, just as the rain did, the protector has the intake to activate the curse. I'm sure that energy was obtained when you killed the undead."

Grey finally realized something.

"So, it's only fitting that the second wave is faster than the first wave, we killed many undead inside the dungeon."

"If you say so then that's how it happens, if the energy of the curse gets bigger then the effect is also greater."

Grey could imagine how the entire adventurers who had come with him to protect the city died because unwittingly the monster force grew stronger, he was finally convinced that what Arina said was indeed the real thing.

They tried to reduce the number of monsters within the dungeon but the effect that everyone had instead received was the opposite.

"In the kingdom of Vardes there is an ancient weapon that can be shot into the sky, with a slight modification I can make it absorb holy magic to neutralize the curse, but unfortunately I do not know exactly its existence, he said, if we can get it then we can eliminate the red moon including the plague, at least until the Undead King dies it will always be useful."

Knowing about it for Grey is a wish, he wants to save everyone including the woman next to him.

"There's one thing I'd like to ask you, why does the red moon affect Anabeth as well while I'm not even though we're both vampires."

"My analysis is probably because Anabeth has a strong curse on her body while you're Grey, part of you is human."

"Well that's possible, I've been cursed from birth because that's why I'm like this now, but I don't regret that I was born in this world, I can meet Grey and we can be together until now."

Anabeth pushed back the book she was given.

"I'm so happy to see romance with my own eyes."

"Are we going to Vardes soon?" sela Gray's.

"On that, give me time to prepare my mind."

Either Anabeth or Arina are both self-confined.
