Being Strong On Your Own

Being Strong On Your Own
Chapter 36: The State of the City

Grey decided to go for a walk to check things out, in the alley the little boys swarmed around while hugging his legs.

Some were children he often helped.

"You seem to be growing up healthy."

"Of course, we eat a lot" one boy said.

"We also often train as well, to be strong like Grey," one girl and the other also said not much different from the two, before pointing towards the woman.

"Look, is there a pervert?"

"Who are you calling perverts, bad boys."

"Run."

What they meant was Arina coming from across the street. If looking at her appearance it was hard not to say that, she was probably the type of woman who enjoyed being noticed by men thoroughly especially her chest part.

"What's Arina?"

"Guide me for a moment, I think I need to go shopping."

"Me?"

Before Grey agreed he had been pulled over by her, he was taken along the sidewalk while looking at what was on display in the shop they passed by.

"I haven't been to the city in a long time, because that's why, even though I seem so ordinary, actually everything here feels foreign to me."

Grey finally realizes it, if remembered he is a Hikikomori also like Anabeth.

"You're mocking me in the heart."

"Not really."

"Don't lie."

"I'm serious."

They both entered the shop which was quite the most spacious compared to the other stores.

"Lock shop?"

"I need some, the bottom one will be covered in pants so the top one should choose carefully."

"You should have closed the top one too."

"Huh?"

"No, I should have been surprised because you had no problem showing it off."

"Why should I be ashamed, in my hometown I don't even feel good about anything."

The closed concept does not exist in the mermaid dictionary. Putting that aside, Grey thought such a place was a treasure the men had always wanted to visit, before he noticed two pieces of triangular cloth stuck out on his face.

One was a thin white with a gaterbelt and the other was red and sure it was not something that women were safe to use.

"Which do you think you like?"

"Don't ask me, obviously this light-colored one."

"Fufu turns out you're a real man."

He wants to leave. However, just like before his hand had been pulled from the desire and went back to choosing the thing he was supposed to touch.

"Should I wear a short skirt?"

"I think it's better not," Grey tried to keep the image of this town.

After choosing including the cape and pointy hat, they visited the magic equipment shop.

Grey used to buy some here so he already knew the seller was a little old grandma.

"You're a killer helmet?"

"I told you I'm not a killer even though I kill a lot of monsters."

"You refuse to be you."

"Better just add the killer Monster."

"That sounds uncool."

"Give up, my friend needs some magic tools, you got a good one."

"You don't have to ask. Everything in my shop has been guaranteed strength, choose what you like."

"You can pick it up Arina."

The name made the grandmother's forehead shrivel.

"Did you just say Arina."

"What is it me?"

"So then, you remain the same as I heard, a witch who has gained an eternity."

"They're too much, I'm not human anyway."

"Still making you immortal is the desire of many people.. uh, I'd better not bother you, choose what you like.My shop is also not much less than your equipment."

"Then I'm honored to buy it."

Grey thinks exactly how old is Arina? Surely older than him.

Arina starts sorting out what she wants, Grey also has for her she is always interested in a parchment she can use.

The grandmother saw him after realizing what he was lacking.

"Grey, where's your sword?"

"I ruined it, but I have a replacement."

Grey pulled out a sword from his storage ring, which was the sword he had taken from the Nile.

"This is a Spirit sword?"

"The size is changing, I'm sure that it's just a one-handed sword."

"Hoh, it's weird that usually if the previous owner dies, they rarely make contracts that fast especially with someone who killed the owner, you're a killer helmet."

Grey can't argue with him now.
