Apocalypse Regression's
The Enemy Actually

“You mean ..”

Chris' eyes narrowed. For some reason, he could guess the quite brilliant but also dangerous idea that was in the brain of the young man in front of him.

“Your guess is right, Mr. Chris. I asked for your help to call the middle-level groups around. Since it's a joint problem, we have to endure it together.”

Ark said with a smile on his face. But his words really make Chris and Lara stunned. He did not think that the young man had a crazy idea.

“Mustahil.” Chris shook his head. “Each group has their own problems. They have egos and cannot be controlled that easily. It is impossible to ask them to come, let alone fight for us.”

“I agree that we cannot control the wishes of others. But you should also know, the greatest desire they have today is not for wealth or power, but life.

We are not fighting over food. We are now facing an enemy equal to an unknown strength and number. That is why we must put aside other thoughts and unite.”

Hearing the beautiful words spoken from Ark's mouth made Chris and Lara also a little motivated. But they immediately shook their heads. As people who had survived in this city for so many years, they knew how difficult it was to convince those stubborn people.

“Your id is indeed very good Ark. But that kind of thing is impossible to do. They're too stubborn and can't be talked to.”

Looking at Chris who seemed to have no hope, Ark raised the corner of his lips.

“Because I said such remarks, of course I have a solution.”

Chris and Lara looked surprised when they heard the confident remark. They looked at each other and nodded.

“If you have a plan you want to do and need help, we are willing to help.”

Chris immediately said the availability of the Golden Maple Group was in support of Ark's plan to bring people together in the city.

This made the young man shake his head. He immediately said in a flat tone.

“Actually the answer you want is simple. If they are difficult to set up and cannot be controlled ..”

Ark clenched his fists then glanced towards Chris and Lara with a faint smile on his lips.

“That means your boxing is not hard enough.”

Two hours later.

After discussing everything with Ark in detail, Chris leaned back in his chair with a tired face. Glancing at his wife, the middle-aged man asked.

“Do you think the Ark idea is really reliable?”

“It is not impossible to unite to gather everyone in such a way. However, that means the young man must also have absolute power.”

Lara stroked his chin. Thinking of the mysterious-looking Ark and Roxanne, he wondered if the idea was worth it or not. Decided worthy, indeed worthy. However, it was difficult to do because the strength of a normal person was limited.

Ark's own intention was to send several teams to visit various groups. Invite them subtly after explaining the situation. If rejected, hit hard until they agree.

Yep. That simple.

Merely, Chris and Lara were doubtful whether the Sword of Sufferings did indeed possess that kind of power. However, thanks to the group's help and supportive remarks from their son, the two men choose to try to trust Ark.

“According to some, Jay's ability is out of bounds. It has truly surpassed normal humans, even going too far.

So, as long as the people from the Sword of Sufferings have similar abilities, the plan is not impossible.”

Hearing the explanation from her husband, Lara frowned. Having a look of doubt and disbelief on her face, the woman said.

“You mean, they have broken the key to evolution? Even taking it to another stage? Really far beyond the research we do?”

“Indeed. Compared to the Sword of Sufferings, Chelsea's own achievements were limited. The girl was indeed kind, but facing everything herself was too difficult for her.”

Thinking of Chelsea, Chris could only sigh deeply. It was not that the girl was not talented, but the figure she had to fight against was more unreasonable.

“If evolution without side effects can be done, then we have a chance? Our troops can also be strengthened and-“

“Quiet, Lara. Such technology is in the hands of the Sword of Sufferings, not us. Even if the relationship has improved, we cannot ask them recklessly.

Even if faced with cannibals and mutual interests, there is something that can and should not be done. Besides, you must know that the materials needed are not that simple, right? If it was easy, why would the Sword of Sufferings limit their expansion?”

Hearing Chris' explanation, Lara regained her senses. He then nodded with a tired expression. In the end, it could only let out a long sigh and let time show the way.

‘That hope thrives, while reality is so arid.’

Sitting by the window, Ark lit a cigarette while thinking alone. It's not that he doesn't want to share it with others. It's just, it's too heavy for them.

‘Dignorance is a bliss.’

Ark flicked his finger, flying soot at the tip of the cigarette. Exhaling the smoke full of the cool and refreshing aroma of herbs, the young man shook his head lightly with a wry smile.

“Who would have thought with the starting line so early, I still came late.”

The young man continued to mutter a sentence that only he himself understood. He wanted to lie down and rest, but was too depressed that he could not do so.

Geck! Geck! Geck!

“Wait a minute.”

Ark got up from his chair and opened the door. There, looked Jay who was waiting with a worried expression.

Jay was stunned when he saw Ark coming out in casual clothing, carrying a cigarette between his fingers while looking at him with a flat expression.

“What's up?” ask Ark.

“Ayo streets! I'll show you the back garden of the headquarters and the collection that Chelsea has. There may be something that interests you.”

Hearing Jay talking like a boy taking his friend home, Ark shrugged.

“Wait a minute.”

After saying that, Ark took all his weapons. Just leave a robe, a bag, and a few daily glances in his room.

“Ayo.” Ark nodded lightly.

“Good!”

After waiting for a while, Jay seemed so excited. The man then took Ark around the headquarters of the Golden Maple Group first. Only after touring did they go to the backyard.

There, Ark was immediately greeted with a view of a small garden that was quite subut despite being treated with makeshift equipment.

“Oh?”

Seeing some plants that interested him, Ark walked over and touched him.

“It looks like it was well taken care of.”

“Thank you.”

Just then, a soft voice rang out in Jay and Ark's ears. Looking at the source of the sound, they saw the figure of Chelsea standing near the door while carrying a glass jar.

Chelsea seemed to be very surprised when they saw Ark. It was truly unexpected to see that young man in this place.

Looking at the girl's expression, Ark and Jay had the same thought.

‘Truly kind of nerds who like to confine themselves and have no connection with the outside world.’

Ark and Jay looked at each other and smiled wryly. From the appearance of Chelsea, it was clear that the girl did not know the big events that had befallen the Golden Maple Group even this city. Busy with his own materials and research.

“That's why we have to protect them right?”

Hearing Jay's sudden words, Ark seemed to wake up. The reason why he came back and fought is clear for humanity to survive. Although you have to use your own way, but that's the goal.

‘To protect them ... is it?’

Ark thought while staring in a certain direction. Looking to a place covered by gray fog.

However, if noticed, the direction Ark looked at was the center of the city where the giant tree was located.

‘It seems like keeping secrets is the best way to protect them. Yes ...’

‘Let it be only I know who our enemy really is.’
