Apocalypse Regression's

Apocalypse Regression's
Ignorance Takes Happiness

The next morning.

Having just finished his breakfast, Ark saw the figure of Jay following him all the way to the office. Entering the room, the man immediately approached her with a confused and sad face.

“Ark ..”

“What's up?” reply Ark flat as usual.

“What did you say to Mona?”

“Hah?”

Seeing Jay's haggard expression like a certain drug addict, Ark raised his eyebrows. He thought about a few things for a moment. Unable to find anything, the young man said.

“I didn't say anything unnecessary to Mona. In addition to watching her, she would usually be accompanied by the women from Golden Rose.”

“Really?”

Jay looked at Ark. Realizing that his best friend was not nervous, even a little confused made him let go of his suspicions.

“Of course it's true. You should know that I don't have time to do unnecessary things.”

“It's true.”

After saying that, Jay sat down on the chair opposite to Ark while sighing deeply.

“Is something wrong?” ask Ark.

“Yes! Actually, I spoke to Mona last night. It's just, the conversation didn't go smoothly at all.”

“Speaking ..” Mumbles Ark. The young man tilted his head. “So you want another girl? Exemplify Vadim to get many wives?”

“Uhuk! Uhuk!”

Jay immediately choked. He did not expect that his best friend would know his little thoughts. But now is not the time to talk about it.

“Not. I mean not that,” Jay replied in a somewhat frantic tone.

“Then?”

“I want to take Mona to Golden Maple Group to meet my parents.”

“...”

Ark was silent for a moment. After a while, he said with a serious expression.

“Are you stupid?”

“EH? Why are you suddenly saying that, Dude?!”

Jay was completely dumbfounded, not at all expecting his best friend to say that with a serious and straight expression.

“Keep aside other reasons. First of all, do you think we, the assassins have no fear and shame?”

“Isn't that not?” reply Jay with a confused face.

“Of course we have it. Only, most ‘professional’ is able to hide it well.

You and your family hate hit men. Doesn't Mona know that?”

“Ya.” Jay nodded lightly. After a few seconds, he was stunned then said with a puzzled expression. “How did you know?”

“You don't think I'm stupid, do you? Remember the first time I said I was a hit man? You react when the job seems unreal and ask cheerfully.

It's just, your reaction is excessive. That's already suspicious. Plus you always avoid direct stares, it's a habit you do when nervous. So, most likely you lied.”

“HAH? You serious?”

Jay leaned back in his chair with a bitter expression. He does say a few things about hitmen to Mona, but not to Ark for fear that his best friend thinks he hates killers like her.

“Really? You've been guessing for a long time just because of such small details? Did Mona not tell you?”

“I've known it since the beginning.”

Ark shrugged with a flat expression. But he said in his heart.

‘Mona also said something important. Something you don't know. You should never even know, Jay.’

Jay scratched his head in frustration.

“So he won't come for fear that my parents hate him? Then I will persuade him!”

Seeing Jay so eager to invite Mona, Ark shook his head lightly.

“You better stop such unreliable thinking.”

“T-Unreliable? You mean, you also oppose Mona coming with me, Ark?” Jay's surprised.

“Why?”

“Forget whether you can convince both your parents or not. Now, think about it.

Are you familiar with all the members of Golden Maple Group?

Do you know how strong they are?

Can Mona adapt to them?

Was that place really safer than Sword of Sufferings, where Mona had many friends as well as bodyguards protecting her?

If you think about it well. You should have realized, Jay. Although Golden Maple Group is a host familiar with the city. There is no safer place compared to Sword of Sufferings.”

Hearing the various questions that came out of his best friend's mouth, Jay was completely stunned. The man was stuck in his chair. Not saying a word at all for a long time.

Some time just passed. Jay suddenly took a deep breath and said.

“What you said is true, Ark. It's just, I don't want to make Mona worry. I also want him to meet my parents. Really, I'm quite selfish for not paying attention to his feelings.”

“You try to get another wife alone is already considered selfish, Jay.”

When that flat voice rang out, the corner of Jay's lips twitched. He tried to act seriously, but was actually directly interrupted by his best friend in such a manner. Feeling disbelieving, the man said.

“How about you?! You have a good relationship with a lot of women, right? Until when will you hang them like that?”

“I?” Ark pointed to himself. “You mean ... relationships with Natasha, Lisa, Stacy, Roxanne, and others?”

“If not?” Jay raised his eyebrows.

“I have absolutely no relationship you think of with them.”

“How about Kurona and Shirona?”

“Stay alike.” Ark said flat.

“Ark. You ... have really gone too far. Don't you know how they feel?”

Seeing Jay suddenly angry, Ark understood. The young man knew what he was doing was mean and cruel to the women. It's just, Ark doesn't seem to care that much.

“I know it, Jay. Of course I know that they like me, depend on me, even love me.”

“THEWHY?! YOU'RE WORSE THAN VADIM, MAN!” scream Jay.

“Because it interfered with my plan.”

“EH? You-“

“We'd better stop talking about this, Jay. You better think of your own business first.”

Jay got up from his chair. Looking towards his best friend with a complicated expression, he said.

“You will regret if they leave, Ark.”

“I feel relieved if they can find a replacement, Jay.”

Ark muttered softly. Seeing Jay leaving the room, he still looked indifferent. The young man then leaned back in his chair while closing his eyes.

‘At least, that way they can be happy without having to feel the heavy burden that is on my shoulders, Jay.’

‘I guess ... it's enough.’

Meanwhile, in Roxanne's room.

Roxanne gently hugged Mona who had a sad expression on her face. Hearing the story from the woman, he found it complicated. Guilt, but not knowing what to say.

“Calm down, Brother Mona. Everything's gonna be fine. Things from the past cannot be traced back. It has been swept away by the arrival of the apocalypse. You better forget about it because the Vice Chairman is not aware of it either.

Live happily.”

Hearing Roxanne trying to comfort him, Mona shook her head lightly while holding back tears.

“The past cannot be written off, Roxanne. I'm really scared. I'm so scared that Jay knows it.”

Roxanne looked at Mona with a complicated expression. He wanted to comfort her, but no words came out of his mouth. Only, the woman never thought that the events of many years appeared as a wall that blocked the path of Mona.

He did not expect at all ...

One of the people Mona killed was Grandpa Jay, the grandfather of Mona's own lover!
