Apocalypse Regression's
The Love of a Brother

‘Why? Why does something like this have to happen to me? WHY?’

While continuing to flee away from the Spirit of Fire headquarters, various questions arose within Evans' head. Although he did not remember why he kept running, but the young man could not stop. Tears kept pouring down his face as he recalled the incident that had happened a few hours earlier. A scene he wanted to forget but couldn't.

***

A few years ago.

In Evans and Brian's residence, many people gathered. They take Brian hostage to have Evans reveal his secret.

“You don't have to say everything because they definitely won't keep their word, Evans.”

“Shut! If you talk again-“

The middle-aged man shouted viciously to threaten, but was instantly speechless when he saw what Brian was doing. He held the hand of the man who held him hostage. Directing the blade to his own neck with a confident smile.

“What are you doing, Brian?” asked Evans with wide eyes.

“I just did what I needed to do, Evans. You have made the right decision, so don't blame yourself. It may be a little frivolous, but there is nothing to regret.”

“What are you guys trying to do?!” The middle-aged man said in an angry tone.

“I didn't do anything, Old Man. You're just holding the wrong people hostage. Do you think I'm afraid of death? Even if I am the saddest of the eight brothers, but I am not a coward.”

Brian turned his gaze toward Evans.

“You can't possibly take me away because of this wound, so ...

Evans, you have to run and get out of this little cage! The wider outside world is waiting for you!”

Brian smiled gently. Tilting his head while looking right into Evans' eyes, he again said.

“Keep living well, Friend!”

After saying that, Brian clutched tightly onto the hand of the person holding him and slit his own throat.

BRUK!

The young man's body fell to the floor. Blood started to flow on the floor of the room. It happened so quickly that everyone could not respond.

Evans immediately fell to his knees in front of Brian's blood-soaked body. Right then, the elders immediately gave orders.

“Circle him! Don't let him escape!”

Instantly, many people filled the room and pointed their weapons towards Evans.

Having a blank expression on his face, Evans rose up like a robot. He remembers the last message from his best friend. Instead of slaughtering people around, the young man directly broke through the siege and jumped through the window.

It instantly shot away from the Spirit of Fire headquarters.

After all that, Evans ran. The young man continued to run away regardless of his feet which started to hurt and bleed.

‘Keep living well, Friend!’

That sentence robs Evans of sanity. She ran over with a smile, but the tears could not stop flowing.

‘Even if this world becomes so crazy and cruel, we can definitely handle it together!’

Recalling the eight people who promised to stay together, Evans covered his face with his left hand while continuing to run. He stumbled until he fell, but immediately got up and ran back. I was afraid someone would come after him.

Only, Evans himself did not feel that he was escaping from the pursuit of the Spirit of Fire. But escape from his own past.

Recalling the figure of the blonde youth who always behaved as an older brother, carrying a spear while turning towards him and the six others before leaving to attract the attention of hundreds of zombies, Evans ran over with a trembling body.

‘MAAF!’

Remembering the figure of the young man with a haircut like a coconut shell and looking mute with glasses, Evans' body trembled again. The frail-looking young man told him to hide in a closet while he himself fought with the cannibals and ended up being dismembered. Recalling that smile, Evans eyes became increasingly red.

‘MAAF!’

The figure of the young man with a burly body and always said that he would become a professional boxer appeared in Evans' mind. The young man who had simple thoughts and was more innocent than the others in the group stood quietly with a bite scar on his neck. He told Evans and four others to leave knowing he could no longer survive.

Choosing to head off the beasts to buy time for his friends!

‘MAAF!’

‘MAAF!’

The shadow of two young men who told him and Brian to hide came to Evans' mind. While betrayed for his mistake, they both chose to bear his burden. How they were dragged away the members of the Crux of Shadow was evident in Evans' head.

‘MAAF!’

The picture turned into the figure of Brian smiling towards her. With the happiest expression on his face after saying his last words, the young man instantly cut his own throat.

Given that he had gained strength but could not save the young man he had always considered his brother, Evans laughed with a crazy expression.

‘SORRY! FORGIVE ME!’

BRUISES!

The young man stumbled over a boulder and then rolled on the street. Lying on his back while looking at the sky, his body trembled. Smile, cry, sad, happy, sick .. His expression constantly changes when he recalls the various memories that arise and shreds his sanity.

At that moment, Evans saw more than twenty grey hounds appear and surrounded him. For some reason, the young man felt that the creatures were smiling towards him. A smile full of contempt and disgust.

Evans was stunned for a moment. He then got up while laughing madly.

“HAHAHAHA! YOU GUYS! EVEN ANIMALS LIKE YOU LAUGH AT MY STUPIDITY!”

“I'M REALLY STUPID!”

After saying that, Evans immediately shot up. He immediately fought with the grey hounds regardless of his physical condition. Even when his hand or leg was bitten, he just kept hitting the heads of the grey hounda until his fist was filled with blood.

“STUPID! YOU MORON! STUPID!”

Evans yelled and hit viciously and wildly.

“MATI! DIE UP! DIE!”

After beating more than twenty grey hounds to death, Evans lay flat on his back in the blood-soaked streets. It seemed to be completely indifferent to the condition of his body that was filled with injuries.

Meanwhile, in some of the surrounding buildings, over twenty cloaked people were watching him. Their eyes were in a certain direction. There, there appeared the figure of a young man in all-white clothes walking on a path filled with blood with an indifferent expression.

‘Chair ..’

Everyone inhaled a cold breath, completely clueless as to what the figure dubbed the white demon wanted to do.

Ark walked over and stopped a few meters in front of Evans. At that very instant, the atmosphere instantly became extremely silent.

“Is that you, Brother Archie? Huh uh?! Am I crazy for hallucinating?”

“Why are you so white, Brother Archie? Is this heaven? Eh? Even if I'm dead, do people like me deserve to go to heaven?”

Evans crawled slowly but surely. Up in front of the Ark, he held the young man's feet with an expression full of doubt. But when she could actually touch her brother's body and realized that everything was not an illusion, tears broke again.

“That's really you, Brother Archie! HAHAHAHA!”

“Really! It was really you!”

“Are you disappointed in me, Brother Archie? Your sister is really disappointing, isn't she? He actually killed the people he considered his brother!”

Evans hugged Ark's leg like a child reporting an error after returning home. Sobbing with a blood-soaked appearance, the young man asked in a hoarse voice.

“TELL ME, BROTHER? WHETHER ... DOES A PERSON LIKE ME REALLY DESERVE TO LIVE?”

Seeing the horrible and cruel expression on his sister's face, Ark was silent. He clearly realized that what he was doing was too cruel. But the young man did not care much because this would make his sister grow. It even grows faster.

Hatred will be the fuel for Evans to keep fighting for power. That painful experience will also make him realize how painful it is to lose people who are valuable to him, so that he appreciates those who trust him more.

It felt like Ark was dropping his own sister into a dark abyss.

Falling into such a deep abyss, then crawling back out just to get revenge!

Looking at his sister who looked so miserable, hugging her legs with a body full of wounds while crying, Ark's expression looked so flat. Looking at his sister who was about to be smashed into pieces, he just thought.

‘Even if you hate me for doing this, I will still do it, Evans.’

‘Because .. I did this for your own good.’
