After traveling for almost three hours, Jay finally saw a building in the distance.

“Although it has slowed down and is still in doubt, I finally got here.”

Jay has slowed his pace and is looking for a safer detour. Even so, he had finally reached a place where he hesitated whether to leave or not.

Having already decided everything, he ended up walking towards the headquarters of the Golden Maple Group.

After a while, Jay's distance and the headquarters of the Golden Maple Group was less than a hundred meters. Just then, a shouting voice sounded from the headquarters where many people were standing guard.

“Here is the headquarters of Golden Maple Group. If you understand what I'm saying, raise both hands!”

Hearing that, Jay raised both of his hands.

What the guards did was natural. In the mist, the figure in the distance looked extremely blurry. Since it was unknown whether it was a human or a zombie, inquired to confirm.

Seeing Jay raise both hands, the guard again shouted.

“Before walking closer, tell me what purpose you came here for! If there is no interest or get lost, please leave this place immediately.

If not, don't blame us if you shoot.” right away

Hearing that, Jay shouted back.

“Please tell Mr Chris and Mrs Lara, there are guests from out of town named ‘Jay’ who came specifically to meet them!”

Hearing that, the guards were stunned for a moment. They have no idea whether they heard wrong or not. Making sure they don't hear wrong, they become full of doubts.

Moments later, the guards finally retaliated against Jay.

“Please don't move and wait there for a minute!”

Meanwhile, inside the offices of Golden Maple Group.

Hearing the sound of knocking on the door, Madam Lara immediately said in a dissatisfied tone.

“Log in!”

The door opened, a black bald middle-aged man with a soldier-like appearance with many scars on his face entered the room.

“Is there a problem, Rhodez?”

“I came to report, Madam.”

“Say,” replies Lara in an impatient tone.

“Outside, there are people coming to headquarters. Although it is not known whether it is right or wrong, but he confessed from outside the city. The guy said that his name is ‘Jay’, and came to meet you and Mr. Chris.”

The room suddenly became quiet. Ink containers and quill pens fell off the table.

Lara looked at Rhodez with wide eyes. Body shaking. Moments later, he got up from the chair and ran out of the room. Straight past the man without saying a word.

Just out of the office, Lara meets her husband, Chris. Ignoring the man, he immediately ran over.

Seeing his wife's behavior, Chris is confused. He did not stay silent. The man immediately ran after his wife.

The two of them went down to the first floor then exited the headquarters in a hurry.

Without using any equipment, Lara immediately ran out of the gate. Although Chris was a bit hesitant, he immediately followed his wife.

“What's up, Lara? If there is something-“

“Is that really you, Jay!”

Lara's screams surprised Chris.

Just then, a shadow standing in the distance walked up to them. The figure was not walking sooner or later. When he came out of the fog, he shocked everyone.

There, stood the figure of a man in a black robe. He wears a strange bird beak-shaped mask. His back was slightly bulging due to the backpack under his cloak. There were also some sword hilts that looked quite striking.

Opening the unique mask that covered part of his face, Jay said with a faint smile.

“For a long time no see, Mom ... Dad.”

Seeing that handsome face, Lara immediately ran towards him. He hugged the man's neck tightly. Sobbing, the woman said.

Lara looked up and touched her son's handsome face.

“Thank God! Thank goodness you're okay!”

“I told you, whose child is it? Obviously, my son wouldn't be that fragile, would he?!”

Chris said in a somewhat frivolous tone, but immediately fell silent when he saw his wife glaring at him.

Pretending to cough, the man again said.

“Look at you, Son! Not only are you not skinny, but you look more handsome and muscular. If you live well, why don't you come back soon to see this old man? Don't you know how worried we are?”

Lara did not say anything, but also looked towards her son with a dissatisfied expression. He was obviously always thinking of his son who was in another city.

It really made Chris and Lara a bit upset!

Jay himself was stunned in his place. He really feels confused. According to him, both his parents did not look like what the rumors said. They were still two grumpy but kind people.

“Is there something wrong with you, son?” ask Lara worried.

Jay woke up from his daydream. Seeing the worried expression on the faces of his parents, the man smiled gently.

“No.” Jay shook his head. “Nothing.”

“Don't try to lie to your mother, son! You think mom doesn't know you're hiding something?”

“It ..” Stared at by his mother, Jay hesitated. “When I reached this city, I heard some rumors. So, I guess ..”

Seeing her son's hesitant expression, Lara immediately said with an angry expression.

“That must have been crazy barbarians! They always spread bad news about Golden Maple Group!”

“Barbarians?” jay asked confusedly.

“There is a group founded by ex-convicts. That group, the Cursed Berserkers often made trouble in the city. They like to spread bad rumors about many big groups, especially Golden Maple Group.”

Chris said with a tired expression on his face. It seems that the problem also gave him a headache.

“Why?” ask Jay.

“Because we refuse to cooperate with Cursed Berserkers!” answer Lara.

Jay nodded lightly, but also felt doubtful.

Seeing that, Lara immediately said in an anxious tone.

“Do you not even trust us, son?! If you don't believe me, go inside and check it out! In Golden Maple Group, there is absolutely no trial ground or anything like that!”

Looking at his anxious mother, Jay smiled bitterly. Recalling his friend who seemed so paranoid, he secretly thought.

Just then, Jay saw his mother let go of a hug. The woman then held her hand and pulled it.

“Follow me! I'll show it to you if you don't believe!”

Looking towards his annoyed mother and his shrugging father as if not wanting to interfere, Jay smiled wryly. In the end, he just followed his mother.

Just walking through the gate, Lara's voice rang out in Jay's ear.

“Welcome home, Nak.”

The words left Jay stunned. At the sight of the smiling mother and the lightly nodding father pretending to be cool, Jay felt the corner of his eyes was a bit wet.

After taking a deep breath, Jay finally said.

“I'm home.”
