A Will Eternal – Chapter 713

Chapter 713: Arch-Emperor City!

Although Giant Ghost City was not too far away from Arch-Emperor City, it would still take months with the Deathcrier Duke to get them close.

And he is a god. If Bai Xiaochun were to pilot the ship alone, the waste of spiritual power would be huge. Even by replenishing himself with soul medicine, it would be difficult to continue walking for very long. Most importantly of all, he would face ten times the amount of danger.

Whether it was the strange creatures inhabiting the Wildlands, or the hordes of souls with their profound death auras, they were all things that made Bai Xiaochun tremble in fear. Of course, those souls would be easier for him to deal with, but to a savage beast, they were extremely shocking.

At one point along the way, he saw a towering tree that was so withered that it looked dead. However, it could move, and would consume anything that was too close to it.

He saw a huge ferocious beast that resembled a hippo. It was sleeping, but its snoring was so intense that it caused the sky to tremble, and it shook the ground for hundreds of kilometers in all directions.

There was a flock of ferocious vultures that followed the giant ghost warship for a few days before reluctantly releasing it.

Seeing all the strange creatures leaving Bai Xiaochun's mind shaken. They met some clouds, which caused the Deathcrier's Duke's face to flicker. Only by driving the ship at full speed did he manage to dodge it.

At one point, Bai Xiaochun noticed that the ground beneath him was pitch-white, and considered it snow. However, a closer examination revealed that it was a sea of bones, covered by waves like water. The powerful aura emanating from the sea of bones caused the Duke Deathcrier's face to pale. Drawing on taboo magic, he negated the aura of the giant ghost warship, and then pushed forward at full speed for several days until the sea of bones disappeared behind them.

The scenery changed, and the wind blew. Thanks to this trip, Bai Xiaochun completely understood that crossing the Wildlands without using a teleportation portal was something only devas could do.

The Duke Deathcrier's countenance grew increasingly grim as they faced one danger after another. He was not at all happy with the situation. It was all because of one command from the Giant Ghost King, and all because the damned Bai Hao refused to use the teleportation portal. Therefore, he, a mighty god, was forced to become a bodyguard.

No matter that Bai Hao was favored by the king, the Deathcrier Duke still felt extremely dissatisfied. However, there was no way for him to vent his feelings, so he ignored Bai Xiaochun.

Bai Xiaochun knew that he had dragged the Deathcrier Duke into this matter, and therefore, took the initiative to try to smooth things out. Although he was not entirely successful, his efforts were quite successful.

One day, as a gigantic ghost warship streaked through the air in a beam of light, Bai Xiaochun was able to see the heaven-shaking, earth-shattering cityscape in front of him, a city far more majestic than the Giant Ghost City.

In terms of size, it could contain at least ten Giant Ghost Towns. The green city wall towered over the surrounding plains, exerting immense pressure on the hearts of anyone who saw it. There were countless limiting spells locking up the entire area, taking the pressure from heaven and earth and using it to protect the city.

The power of the five elements was harnessed to suppress even lightning and thunder. As a result, the city looked like a huge ferocious beast of paragon-like strength, resting but ready to erupt with force at that very instant.

Countless towering green pagodas could be seen within the city walls, each of which had a huge crystal ball on it. Each crystal ball had a purple mist sealed within it that crackled with lightning, and occasionally turned into large eyes!

It was hard to tell how much life force was flowing within that huge city. However, the amount of qi and blood Bai Xiaochun could feel was astounding.

"How many people live there?!" he thought, surprised. As he inspected the city, he could not help but look up. .. Another city floating in the air above the main city!

It was smaller than the city below, and it was completely golden in color. There was something domineering about it that made it stand out from everything else in the area, as if it was something that could suppress the entire Wildlands.

Even the surrounding air seemed to be destroyed by his presence, as if this city was something completely different from all the others in the heavens and earth. Given the golden light shining from it, it almost looked like an enormous golden sun, or a gigantic golden castle in the clouds.

It was none other than .. the imperial palace of the Arch-Emperor Dynasty!

Eight islands floated in the air around the imperial palace, each covered in clouds and rainbows. They seemed like guard posts, there to protect the imperial palace against the outside forces!

From what Bai Xiaochun knew, the rainbows on the islands far exceeded those of the Starry Dao Sky Polarity Sect. After all, there was only one rainbow structure in the Starry Dao Sky Polarity Sect, but here, each island had one!

Countless soul cultivators in golden armor were patrolling, making Arch-Emperor City truly and truly astounding to behold!

Bai Xiaochun had seen several cities in his life, and Arch-Emperor City was on a different level than all of them, and it included the Starry Sky Polarity Sect.

Suddenly, Bai Xiaochun felt as if he understood the world a little better. And that was even before he studied the four troops that were camping in the four cardinal directions around the city, filled with countless Wildlander cultivators.

Above each soldier was a banner identifying him. One of them featured a large green war axe, which showed that they were the troops of the Nine Words City. There was a blood-colored banner completely devoid of symbols, which represented War Champion City.

As for Spirit Advent City, their symbol was the ferocious-looking eyes that seemed to peek at all of heaven and earth as the banners swayed in the wind…. Lastly was the Giant Ghost City banner, which was easily recognizable due to the giant sigil phantoms on it. The giant ghost spread its arms wide, and wore a ferocious expression, as if it wanted to tear apart the sky.

"So it's four legions …." Bai Xiaochun thought, thoughts spinning. Suddenly, he felt the nervousness that came together to be at the enemy headquarters.

"What will happen if they find out that I am Bai Xiaochun …?" he wonders. The mere thought caused his face to turn pale like death. It was at this point that he realized that he had missed something, and gazed into the clouds in the sky. Suddenly, an enormous dragon head descended from the clouds, its huge whiskers floating in the air beside it as it looked at Bai Xiaochun coldly. A moment later, he lifted his head back into the clouds.

"A dragon!!" he thought, his eyes widened. Then he could see the long and tortuous form of the dragon rotating in the clouds, as well as its terrifying claws. From the side, the Duke Deathcrier gave a cold harrumph, but did not say anything. Instead, he maintained his gaze was fixed on Arch-Emperor City.

This is the heart of the Wildlands!

As a god, the Duke Deathcrier understood things much better than Bai Xiaochun. He knew ... that what was seen in the open was only part of what made up Arch-Emperor City. There's more underground …. There was a third city underground that was ten times larger than the part that rose above the plains!

"Three cities above," he murmured to himself, "three in the middle, and three under …. They formed what was spoken of in the legends .. the nine heavens! " He had never seen the real Arch-Emperor City, which was something that only existed in the distant past. Back in its golden age, Arch-Emperor City was like the nine collective heavens that dominated the world.

However ... After Heavenspan became famous, Arch-Emperor City refused. Then a great war ensued in which heaven and earth were split. Heavenspan replaced the Arch-Emperor Dynasty, and occupied the island in the middle of the Heavenspan Sea.

As for Arch-Emperor City .. it was during the war that three lower cities were destroyed, and three middle cities were destroyed. The only ones left were the top three cities, which fled to this location, gasping for air, where they remained down to this day, trying to recover ….

Currently, only the top two cities are visible above ground, with the third city remaining beneath the earth, buried and unable to rise.

Finally, the Duke Deathcrier turned away from Arch-Emperor City and brought Bai Xiaochun to the west side of the city, where the Giant Ghost Legion camped.

Before long, they were already at the entrance of the camp. Having no desire to remain there anymore, the Deathcrier Duke waved his sleeve, sending Bai Xiaochun flying off the giant ghost warship and descending to the main entrance.

In a loud voice like a stone, he said, “The task given to me by His Majesty, the king is now finished. You are alone now, Bai Hao. ” Without saying anything, he turned the giant ghost warship and sent it speeding towards Arch-Emperor City. Obviously, he had his own issues to attend to. Furthermore, he would return to Giant Ghost City through the teleportation portal, not by making a long trip on the ship.

The arrival of the Duke Deathcrier caused an uproar in the Giant Ghost Legion. Beams of light immediately flew to the main entrance of the camp, and the two soul-building guard squads stationed there immediately saw from the giant ghost warship that was heading to Bai Xiaochun.

"Who's there?!" one of them said, his voice threatening and seemingly dripping with blood. Clearly, these guards were the type who had seen countless bloody battles, and had a terrifying murderous aura.

Bai Xiaochun blinked a few times as he watched the Deathcrier Duke leave, then turned around to face the main entrance of the army camp. Scowling on the verge of tears, he decided that since he had come this far, he would probably continue to advance step by step.

"There's no way I'm gonna lose face" he thought. “I'm also an important person here. After all, the Giant Ghost King gave me his daughter to marry! ” After reaching this point in his line of thought, he looked to the soul cultivators who had just called him from the main entrance. Raising his chin, he put on the most unexpected expression he could muster.

Proposing his identity medal, he clasped his hands behind his back and proudly said, "I am the grand majordomo and inspection commissioner of Giant Ghost City, Bai Hao, and this is my identity medal. Take me right away to see your major sergeant. She's fiancee! ”
