After making a decision, Bai Xiaochun did his best to keep his excitement in check as he darted off into the distance. This time, instead of avoiding all random souls, he would walk up to them and then pick them up with a swish of sleeves.
All the time, not a single soul noticed him.
"Ha ha ha! Now this is how to get battle credits! ” As he walked, he did not let a single soul escape.
His collection continued to increase, especially when he met the larger soul groups, which was when he would walk right into their midst and destroy the Soul Convergence Pill in his hands. With a shout, all souls would then be sucked into his bag to hold.
"Very sick! This mask was the key to dominating the Wildlands! ” For the next four hours, he kept moving to and fro picking up souls, until he had over 10,000. Unfortunately, it was the best he could do without meeting a large group of souls.
As for his subordinates who were shadowing him, ready to jump out and protect him at any time, many of them saw him go around gathering souls, and were somewhat surprised, but considered him to be commonplace.
From their perspective, Bai Xiaochun was the curse of vengeful souls, and as such, almost nothing he did with regards to them would be shocking.
Time pass. Finally, the light of dawn spread in the sky, and Bai Xiaochun was over a hundred kilometers away from the Great Wall. At this point, he was almost completely outside of an area that could be considered a battlefield, and was completely in the Wildlands.
All sorts of strange rock formations and ferocious plants could be seen, as well as the occasional beast. He even saw some savages.
At one point, Bai Xiaochun saw a soul planter in the mountains in the distance, chasing after some kind of ferocious beast.
This soul cultivator did not look like the one he saw on the battlefield. He was wearing ordinary clothes, and not very handsome. Based on his aura, he seemed to be at the Core Formation stage, except that the fluctuations of soul power coming out from him were not pure, but rather, heterogeneous …
A few years before, Bai Xiaochun would not have known what this soul cultivator should do. But as a colonel of the five legions, he had access to intelligence reports that gave him a much deeper understanding of the Wildlands.
The soul cultivators in the Wildlands were not united, and were in fact grouped together in all kinds of different organizations. There are even some soul growers that do not belong to the organization, and like wild growers.
The most powerful forces in the Wildlands were gathered in metropolitan cities called ‘cities of the kings’. There is even one city that has the designation ‘kecari’. The forces occupying such cities were those that fielded large armies, and were the home of the kind of soul cultivators he had seen before on the battlefield.
However, such people were actually a minority. Most soul cultivators were scattered, and did not belong to a powerful organization. Most of the time, they come from small groups that control small parts of the region in random places. As for the soul cultivator with heterogeneous soul strength Bai Xiaochun was looking at right now, he was clearly one of those types.
When Bai Xiaochun realized how far he was from the Great Wall, he stopped and decided that it was best to end his mission and return.
However, just as he turned around, explosive booms sounded from the mountains in the distance. A cloud of dust surged into the air when one of the mountains completely collapsed, turning into something like a crater.
Revealed within the crater was a large group of souls that almost instantly started flying in all directions. Bai Xiaochun's jaw fell.
"What the hell is going on?" he thinks. Almost immediately, the savages and other soul planters in the area noticed that something strange was going on. When they saw all the souls suddenly flying out, they started rushing towards the shattered mountain to try to take some of them.
To Bai Xiaochun, souls were basically battle credits, but they were as valuable as Wildlanders. Not only could they be used as weapons to attack the Great Wall, but they were also useful for cultivation in a place where there was no heaven and earth origin energy.
Also, anyone who could obtain their soul could turn around and sell it to a necromancer, who would use it not only to cultivate, but to make soul medicine.
Furthermore, areas of the Wildlands closer to the Great Wall often had more souls because of all the people who died in battle. For that reason, there were giants and soul cultivators lurking in the area, hoping to gather more souls than was possible in other areas.
Looking around, Bai Xiaochun could see at least a few ferocious giants and over ten soul cultivators, all rushing forward to fight over souls.
"Mine! They're all mine! "
The savages and soul planters did not know who Bai Xiaochun was, and considered him to be just a soul planter. However, it didn't take long before they realized that he was taking more souls than anyone else. In fact, he got about half of them.
Then, it became clear that, when he moved, no soul reacted to him. He would just reach out and grab them, very different to all the effort they put in.
For those who were in Foundation Establishment, there was little they could do about it, but for the handful of people who were in the great circle of Core Formations, there was little they could do about it, it didn't take long for their eyes to blink with anger and killing intent.
“Where did this monkey come from? He's so fast! "
"Damn it, he alone took more souls than all of us put together? Does he have a death wish or something ?! ”
One of them was an inconspicuous-clothed old man, whose eyes glittered with a purple light. Although there were three soul cultivators in the large circle, the other two seemed to follow this one's instructions as they all turned to look at Bai Xiaochun with cold glittering eyes.
There are no formal rules in the Wildlands, where the strongest survive, and the law of the jungle prevails above all else. In the end, strength is the most important thing. When Bai Xiaochun saw the group of three staring at him, he paused on the spot, narrowed his eyes, and looked back at them furiously, his killing aura on full screen.
If any of them were at the Nascent Soul stage, he would never do such a thing, but because they were only at the great circle of the Core Formation, he would have never done so, how could he be afraid of them?
It was even a problem considering he had a thousand subordinates who were not too far away. All it takes is one command, and they will rush to help him. Therefore, not only was Bai Xiaochun not afraid, he actually felt a little arrogant at this moment. Glaring viciously, and looking very much like he was on the verge of attacking at full strength, he roared, “Bawa continues! Who would dare to move on me !? ”
No savage or soul planter had attacked him from the start because of his fear-inducing speed. Now, he looked like an evil demon, the type who was used to fighting demons. Therefore, the old man let out a cold snort, ignored him, and walked towards the crater.
The other Core Formation experts did the same, and to the soul cultivators and other savages at the Foundation Establishment level, they obviously had no intention of provoking him. They all continued on their way towards the crater in hopes of getting out and gaining some souls.
Seeing this, Bai Xiaochun let out a small laugh, and then let out a cold harrumph.
"So, they realized how great Lord Bai was. I think they have common sense! ” While raising his chin, he very much resembled a peerless person under the heavens and could destroy anyone in front of him in battle. At this point, he could not just leave and return to the Great Wall, so he clasped his hands behind his back and headed towards the crater.
As he got closer to the crater, he could finally see the mouth of the cave at the bottom. That's where all souls come in. Surprisingly, some of them were even deep red, indicating that they were at the level of a Nascent Soul.
"How can there be so many souls?" Excited, he leaped forward and began to gather one soul after another. When the soul cultivators and savages in the area saw him take so many souls out from under their noses, their killing intent continued to grow stronger.
Pouring his lips to hold back his laughter, Bai Xiaochun imagined what it would be like if they attacked him, and then he suddenly summoned a thousand cultivators to his side to fight for him. The thought of the majestic spectacle made him so excited that he began to hope they would actually attack him.
"Come, hurry up and move!" he thinks. With that, he increased the speed in gathering souls, focusing on those at the level of the Nascent Soul.
A moment later, the old man in the large circle of Core Formation suddenly smirked in a frightening manner. Suddenly, a black fog shot out from him, turning into the shape of a huge skull around him. Then he started walking towards Bai Xiaochun.
However, at that moment, an intense rumble that far surpassed any sound from before rose from the crater.
THE RUMBLING!
