A Will Eternal – Chapter 570
Chapter 570: The Fire Conjugation Technique
In the Wildlands, the five great powers were split between the five great cities!
Of those five cities, four were cities of kings, and one was an imperial city! Those cities were Nine Word City, Giant Ghost Town, War Champion City, Advent Spirit City, and the latter .. Great Emperor City!
Wildlands were structured in the same ancient way as the Heavenspan land. At the peak of everything was the current Great Emperor, and below him were four kings!
The four kings were like feudal vassals, who controlled the four great cities, and raised and maintained armies.
In the imperial city, there were also kings and marquis who were ranked lower than kings. Basically, Wildlands was structured very much like a feudal empire.
Bai Xiaochun had learned all of this information by asking one question after another about Zhou Yixing before. Although he was surprised by some of the new things he learned, everything made sense based on what he knew before. After all, he had long understood that soul cultivators and necromancers were the true masters of the Wildlands.
However, what he did not know was that many years ago, the Celestial of Heavenspan Island had overthrown the current empire. After that, the surviving members of the deposed dynasty had fled to the Wildlands, leading to the current situation.
He was currently in a territory ruled by one of the four great kings, the Giant Ghost King. As for the forest behind him, it was called the Lost Soul Jungle, and was relatively close to Giant Ghost City.
Furthermore, the Giant Ghost City was located in the western region of Heavenspan land, while the Starry Sky Dao Polarity Sect was in the east. It makes it very, very far from home.
If he wanted to return to the eastern branch of the Heavenspan River, he would have to cross the Heavenspan Sea, which was something that even Soul Cultivators could not do. Only people with Deva Realm cultivation bases could do such a thing.
Of course, there were other methods of travel, such as using a teleportation portal. It would not be too difficult to reach the eastern Heavenspan region through that method. Unfortunately, through a very vague line of questioning, Bai Xiaochun was able to learn from Zhou Yixing that only people born in the Wildlands could use that teleportation portal.
The basis of such a teleportation portal was soul power, which gave them many other strange properties.
However, even Zhou Yixing wasn't really sure about all that. Most of the information he provided was based on things he had heard but could not be personally verified. In the end, Bai Xiaochun was silent for a while, staring at the sky outside the cave.
"Ah, whatever," he thought with a sigh. “I might as well try it. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and be able to teleport out of here. ” Shaking his head, he looked back towards Zhou Yixing, who was lying unconscious after his head hit.
Despite the fact that Zhou Yixing had tried to kill him three times, ending his life here didn't seem like the right thing to do. If they were to return to the Great Wall, it would be a different story, but here alone in an unfamiliar place, it seemed like a better choice to make it as a traveling companion.
Besides ... Bai Xiaochun was completely convinced that Zhou Yixing was truly his lucky star. With him to take the lead, the Wildlands did not seem like a dangerous place …
That thought made Bai Xiaochun even less willing to kill him. After thinking a little more, his hand waved in a spell move, and he placed several hundred limiting spells on Zhou Yixing. After achieving that, he held Zhou Yixing's life in his hands, and could kill him with a mere thought.
"It's not good to make it completely separate from its cultivation base. What will happen if we get into trouble and he gets killed? That's not gonna work. ” After a few more thoughts, he unsealed ten percent of Zhou Yixing's cultivation base. However, it still made him feel a little uncomfortable, so he reduced by half.
“With only five percent of his cultivation base, he was basically a Cultivator of Foundation Establishment. It gave him a little freedom, but it would ensure that he did not try to escape. ” Admiring how well he treated his lucky star, he ignored her, sitting cross-legged to experiment with one of the flame formulas Zhou Yixing described to him.
To make sure nothing unexpected happened, he summoned his three clones, sent one to the entrance of the cave, and asked the other two to sit on either side as Dharma protectors.
Three days passed quickly. Zhou Yixing had long since regained his senses, and was lying there motionless. He could feel that ninety-five percent of his cultivation base was sealed, however, it was still very relieved. Clearly, his captor did not plan to kill him, and instead sealed his cultivation base. For now, he is safe.
However, when he thought about how unlucky it had been since going to the labyrinth, he could not stop the sadness from within him, and just lay there, staring at the ceiling of the cave.
“So that's how you conjure a multi-colored flame…. The different types of flames required different kinds of souls as their materials. Actually, there are very strict requirements in that regard.
“To make a two-color fire, you have to start with a one-color fire…. Once you get a two-color fire, you can put more souls into it and thus conjure up a three-color fire …. " The more he learns, the more his eyes begin to sparkle with interest. There are many differences between conjuring fire and concocting medicine, but there are enough similarities that make it easy to gain a basic understanding of the process.
"Interesting.." she thought, licking her lips. He knew that concocting medicine was one of his best skills, and therefore, the idea of becoming an expert in making fire was very interesting.
For now, he decided to forget about the two-colored flame and focus on the one-colored flame. He even decided to do some tests to see if he could do his own magic.
After carefully studying the formula, he had his water clone take his bag held outside to capture some vindictive souls.
Zhou Yixing watched all this happen with flashing eyes. He was especially shocked by Bai Xiaochun's clone, and could not stop thinking about how they had destroyed his limiting spell as easily as dry weeds.
“Only what kind of divine ability did this Bai man cultivate? It's not like I've never seen a clone before, but most of the time it's an illusion, and usually only has about ten percent of the true self-cultivation base. Even that's amazing. But this guy's clone seemed to be just as powerful as his true self. That ... is absolutely impossible! "
Zhou Yixing pondered over the subject for several hours, until it was dark outside. Then, a figure suddenly exploded into the cave, shocking him. However, it turned out that it was a clone that had gone before.
The clone walked over to Bai Xiaochun's true self and handed him a bag of holding, then sat cross-legged next to him and continued to meditate.
Bai Xiaochun's eyes opened, and he waved his hand, causing eight vengeful souls to emerge from his bag. They were balls of opaque fog that sometimes took the form of savage or ferocious beasts that snarled at Bai Xiaochun.
After studying it for a while, a very serious expression followed Bai Xiaochun's face as he sank into the same condition he often did when concocting medicine. Reaching out, he grabbed the eight souls and smashed them into his palm.
Almost instantly, it felt as if there were laws of nature at work. To his surprise, streams of fiery light began to seep out from the cracks between his fingers, which quickly faded away. When he opened his hand a moment later, it was completely empty.
From the side, Zhou Yixing's lips curled up.
"He used the Zhou Clan's fire magic technique …. Hmph! Our clan technique was given to us by the Nine Words King. Even though we don't have the best techniques available, they are still amazing. Most people need to practice for a decade to use it with skill, and sometimes even some sixty-year cycles. Even a one-color flame usually takes a year to master. The clan head praised my abilities as outstanding, and it took me three months and thousands of sessions to succeed. This person was obviously used for other techniques, but was still trying to master Zhou's methods. Not knowing his own limits! ”
Bai Xiaochun frowned as he looked at his palm seriously. After analyzing a few things, he took out another eight souls, and then grabbed them into his hands to try again.
The same thing happened as before, when a fiery stream of light shot out from his hand. However, this time, they did not fade. They actually started to shine brighter, and then, turned into one-colored flame tongues, burning right in his palm !!
Zhou Yixing's eyes widened in shock, and his jaw dropped. He was well aware of how different the various fire magic techniques were. It was a very difficult thing for necromancers who were familiar with one system to master the techniques of the other, and would usually require a lot of adjustments in the process.
But this Necromancer Bai .. had used the time it took to burn incense to master it on the second try!
Zhou Yixing was so shocked that he started to pant.
“Starter luck, that's it. This guy is lucky! " Regardless of the way he comforted himself, he gulped and stared at the one-colored flame that Bai Xiaochun had conjured.
