Chapter 1268: What A Drag

Back when the Renegade Mortal annihilated everyone in the starry sky, the resulting vengeful souls were tainted by its aura, and became these evil ghosts, the, that was once the terror of anyone who faced them in battle.

Since they were already dead, they were not afraid of being cut down in battle, and actually could not be annihilated without using extraordinarily powerful divine abilities or magical techniques. Most other methods were useless against them.

Only a few groups in the starry sky possessed divine abilities that could target soul bodies. They were the ones personally handled by the Renegade Mortal. For the most part, his large army of evil ghosts was his most deadly and terrifying weapon.

Back when the three Eternal Sons sacrificed themselves to seal the Mortal Renegade, his army had been drawn into him, where they slept for years with him.

Now that Mortal Renegade had begun to wake up, so did his army of evil ghosts. As the pieces of flesh and blood fell in the form of meteorites, they began to bind to the world, spreading out slowly to cover all of the Eternal Immortal Domain. At the same time, anyone who entered the area would quickly be devoured.

However ... now they had met Bai Xiaochun ….

It was impossible to tell how many souls Bai Xiaochun had captured in his life, and how many he had used in his necromancy. Its number might exceed the current population of the Eternal Demon Domain. The ghosts struggled, but were powerless to resist the forces dragging them to places of convergence. Now, they looked weak and helpless, and could only howl when they were dragged into several dozen soul orbs.

Each of those balls contained countless ghosts, all of them howling and discouraging each other, struggling to get free….

Suddenly, Bai Xiaochun felt his weariness turn into relaxation, and even excitement. Moving on, he began to collect soul orbs in one location after another.

"If only things were this easy back in that energy aisle." Sighing, he collected a whole set of soul orbs, and then looked around at the horde of evil ghosts that were still rushing towards him. Eyes glittering with the desire to do battle, he threw his head back and released a long cry.

"Come on! Today, all of you will know exactly how great Lord Bai is! ” With that, he took out more Soul Convergence Pills, becoming a beam of light that shattered everything in his path.

In the end, the terrifying army of evil ghosts was reduced to just a few wandering souls. Any of those remaining would flee as soon as Bai Xiaochun approached.

Back when they swept across the starry sky, they had met terrifying opponents, but none of them could match Bai Xiaochun, who was like the king of all demons !!

He had gathered about thirty percent as many souls as he had gathered on his journey through the void. In fact, it was so easy that, other than gathering souls, he conjured some flames on the side!

They did not have any real consciousness, but they could sense how dangerous he was, and did not dare to try against him. They could only hope that they were faster than when they had escaped.

On another occasion, Bai Xiaochun might not be in the mood to chase after them, but seeing how much wealth there was, he headed to the volcano in the middle of this bound area.

Nothing could stand in his way, and thus, before long he arrived at the volcano, which he immediately scanned with divine senses. Instantly, his eyes lit up out of curiosity.

Inside the volcano was an ancient stone gate!

It seemed to emit an ancient sensation, and emanated a muffled howl. In fact, it was less of a gate and more of a stone skeleton, within it was a membrane, a chaotic ripple that resembled water.

The membrane pulsed in and out, as if something within it was struggling to free itself, and entered a bound part of the world.

The sight caused Bai Xiaochun's disciples to shrivel. However, he immediately sensed that whatever was on the other side was only at an arcane level. Relax a little, he shot towards the volcano.

Although the volcano continued to emit black smoke, it did not affect Bai Xiaochun at all, thanks to the fluctuations rolling from it and pushing the smoke away. Hence, it was like a flash of lightning that he shot into a volcano and appeared right in front of the stone gate.

When he did, the entity on the other side seemed to sense his presence, and emitted a howl that could shake the heavens and earth. Suddenly, a large arm stretched out from within, pushing the membrane as if to break it.

Clearly, this entity was the scourge of another demon, although it was different from the others of its kind. It was much stronger, being at the archaean level!

Moreover, his soul body was whole and complete, very different from the ancient soul Bai Xiaochun had obtained from the palace he had encountered in the void. Apparently, this particular evil ghost was like some sort of general in the Mortal Renegade army.

With enough time, it would pierce through the membrane, and arrive to take control of this bound region of the earth. At that point, it would take quite a bit of effort from Bai Xiaochun's part to expel him.

After all, ancient demon ghosts can give an enormous control over an army. And although Bai Xiaochun's Soul Convergence Pills would still work in such a situation, they would definitely be less effective.

Unfortunately for this pesky arch phantom, not only did Bai Xiaochun arrive faster than people had expected, but he also had a method to capture the soul body. Therefore, before the demon ghost could even come out into the open, he was there to block his path.

Enraged, the demon ghost let out a howl, as well as a chill of ice, as it began to tear apart the membrane. Another way that this demonic ghost differs from its peers is that ...it is conscious, and even has divine sense!

"You're lucky this time !!" the ghost shouted furiously. "If my true self was here, I'd cut you where you stand!

“However, you don't need to be arrogant. Not long after, my master's entire army will arrive, and my true self will be with him. We will fill the ground and bring your people to be part of our army of evil ghosts! ”

With that, the hand begins to sink back into the membrane.

Before it could disappear, however, Bai Xiaochun blinked a few times and then stepped forward. Reaching out, he grabbed the hand, which almost looked like a glove, recalling how the membrane covered it.

“Hey, what's the hurry? Since you are here, I can help you …. ” There was no way Bai Xiaochun would let the ancient demon ghost escape. It's too precious. Shocking demonic phantoms, Bai Xiaochun harnessed the power of his fleshly body and cultivation base, unleashing an overwhelming power as he began to pull his arm back….
