The next day, David takes Wayne and Gordon to Uncle Bobby's house. Based on what David knew about Uncle Bobby and Aunt Karen, it was absolutely impossible for them to obediently hand over the compensation. Therefore, the night before, David contacted the best lawyer in River City and sent the deal to the other party.
Because of the deal at hand, the other party claimed there was almost no doubt in regards to this lawsuit. The lawyer should also have been on his way to Shu.City by then. In addition, he uses multiple relationships to direct people in the court system. The other party said that as long as the evidence was conclusive, it would be dealt with as quickly as possible.
Uncle Bobby's residence is located on the outskirts of Shu City. It was a self-built house with three floors, and was built together by David's Father and David's Uncle Bobby. In other words, half of this house actually belonged to David, but after David's custody was granted to Uncle Bobby, the house naturally became the property of Uncle Bobby.
David and his gang soon arrive at Uncle Bobby's house. Upon entering the courtyard, they saw Aunt Karen watering the flowers in the courtyard. After he saw David coming, he snorted and returned home. It was clear that he did not welcome David. David takes Wayne and Gordon into the house.
Because Saturday, Bobby's family of four is all at home. There's Uncle Bobby, Aunt Karen, and cousins Felicia and Quin. However, when they saw David, none of them were willing to pay attention to him. They just watch television while thinking about their own business.
David smiled indifferently and walked to the middle of the living room. Then, he put the agreement in his hand on the coffee table and said, “Bobby, this is the agreement you signed back then. Hurry up and give me my parents' compensation. I won't make it difficult for you. I don't want this house, and I'll just take it as a payment to stay here for the last few years.”
David does not call Bobby as Uncle Bobby anymore, he immediately calls him by his name. David was traumatized by his uncle after living here for years.
“What agreement? What compensation? I don't know shit. David, don't listen to the nonsense that Aunt Sally and the others have been saying. There is nothing like it.” argued Bobby.
“Bobby, don't you think it means nothing to you not to admit it? It was written in black and white, and there were records taken in court at the time. Do you think you can play like a fool?”
Bobby did not speak, but Karen started to scream.
“David, you unscrupulous brat, do you think we haven't spent any money on you in all the years you've lived here? We give you food, clothing, and daily necessities. Let me tell you, the compensation for your parents is all spent on you. There's not a penny left."
David found a bench and sat down. He said, “Come, help me do the math. How did I spend two million as a teenager? If you can detail it for me, I won't ask for money back.”
“Do you think clothes, food, and daily necessities are free?” exclaim Karen.
“I remember when I stayed here for a few years, I ate the leftovers you had and I wore the clothes Felicia was wearing. You asked me to go to school as a boy in a girl's outfit, but you dare say out loud that you spent money on me? Regarding daily needs, have you ever given me a penny during my studies? It was all funded by Aunt Sally and Aunt Diana, didn't it?”
Karen paused for a moment and said rudely, “By the way, your parents' money was spent on you a few years ago. Nothing left to ask.”
David took the deal on the coffee table and said, “Please take a good look. It's clearly written here on the agreement, which Bobby signed. In addition, the court also has that record, If you do not fulfill it, I will sue you in court.”
“Think carefully then. With this evidence and the record in court, there is no doubt. When the time comes and you are branded as a dishonest executor, your assets will not only be frozen, but will also affect the work of Felicia.” David smiled and said.
From what David knows, his cousin Felicia works at a bank in Shu City. He also came in after Bobby did everything he could to draw some connections. If they were branded as dishonest executors, it would definitely affect Felicia's job as she worked in the bank and her parents were dishonest. That's why David said it.
Indeed, when David said that, Bobby's whole family was shocked.
They did a lot to get Felicia her job. Their daughter works in a bank and they are very proud of her. If this case affected Felicia's work, then it would be very serious.
Felicia panic. Banks value trust very much, and if her parents are dishonest executors, it will greatly affect her. They might even find an opportunity to fire him. Being able to work in a bank is very profitable in their small area. He often shows off in the circle of his friends and classmates. If this is lost, how will he live?
Thinking of this, Felicia looked at her parents with a hint of hatred.
“David, don't mess around. Let me tell you, if you dare to interfere with Feli's work, I will never forgive you!” Bobby threatened.
Bobby's been beating up David ever since he was a kid, so even after High School, David's kind of scared to look at him.
Although he did not know why David dared to ask for money back today, he had a psychological edge over David.
“Bobby, how do you intend to punish me? I really want to know. Are you still going to run around the yard and beat me up like when I was a kid? You can try it now.”
After David finished speaking, his smiling face suddenly turned solemn. Bobby's words remind him of his tragic childhood. Back then, whenever Bobby made a mistake, he would blame David and then David would be beaten horribly.
Whenever the family was in a bad mood, they would also beat up David to vent their anger.
They would use a very thin stick to beat him. So, it was only natural that David was covered in a very painful wound.
Things got better when she asked to stay in the dorm when she was in Junior High. Back then, he rarely came back whenever there was a holiday. She'll just go to Aunt Sally's or Aunt Diana's.
She only moved into Aunt Sally's house when she was sitting on the high school bench, thus leaving this traumatic family behind.
