Chapter 34

“I don't want to repeat my own words!” Andy declared expressionlessly.

Tristan is desperate. Until another voice sounded from the crowd.

“Andy, are you bullying the poor again?” Hugh walked closer.

"Mr Greene! Save me, please! We've worked together before! I'm Tristan from Lucky Cloud Real Estate!” Tristan turns to Hugh as if he is his last savior.

If anyone in Lake City could help him, Hugh Greene would be one of them. As the second son of the Greene family, he was supposed to be the second person to inherit the family business. However, Hugh managed to turn things around and fight parallel to his older brother. The elders in his family have yet to decide who will truly inherit the family business. Thus, the elders decided to give the two of them some money to use and develop to their best ability for ten years.

The son with the best result will then be chosen as the heir. Five years have passed, and Hugh clearly has the upper hand.

"Greea! Who says I oppress weaker people? He's the one who bullied cousin David, what else to do?” Andy pointed at David and protested.

Hugh turned to look at the young woman David was hugging.

“Ohh? You bluffed Dave's cousin? You got the courage to do that?” Hugh turned to ask Tristan.

“Hah?” Tristan was confused.

“What are you planning, Andy?”

“I gave him three days to get out of Lake City!”

"What's? Three days? That's too long! I think one day is more than enough.” Hugh said.

Tristan drowned as soon as he heard Hugh's words. There was no chance for him to turn things around now that the two leading figures in Lake City were eyeing him. Blood flowed into his head, and he fainted.

"Bring him up and call an ambulance for him. If he doesn't wake up then let him, but if he wakes up. let him know that he has one more day" Andy told the employee.

“Good, Mr Lewis!”

Some security took Tristan and escorted Jessica out. Now that the situation was dealt with, everyone turned to look at David curiously. This man's status must have been frightening, considering he was friends with two important people in Lake City.

Marie's heart surged as she looked at David. He did not think he would get the chance to meet her again because of his identity. He did not expect to see her again today after parting ways yesterday. Even though he came today with hope of it.

"Since everyone is here, I'll explain it now. David is my best friend, and his cousin's sister is my cousin's sister too. Anyone who dares to bully her in the future will face my anger." Andy shouted to the crowd.

“I'm the same!” Hugh added.

"Thank you, brothers!” David answered.

David feels that he is close enough to Hugh and Andy that he can call them brothers.

“Together, Dave!”

"Alright, everybody. Time to enjoy the show!”

The crowd slowly dispersed. Marie walked up to David and said, “We meet again, Mr. Lidell!”

“Halo, Miss Kent!” Lily was calm now.

He looked between David and Marie and asked, “Dave, do you know Miss Marie?”

“Yes! I know him!”

“Miss Marie, thank you for helping me just now. Miss Elsa too, thank you!”

Elsa was about to leave when she heard Lily call her. He walked closer. “Same-sama, Lily!”

"Thank you, for the both of you!” said David.

“You're too good, Mr Lindell!” The two celebrities answered simultaneously.

Pearl passed through the entrance gate in a 911 porsche car. He did not realize that there was a taxi following behind. Excluding the driver, there was also a young man and woman inside the taxi.

"Where is this place, Mister?” The young man asked.

"This is the rich residential area of River City, son. It's as far as I can go. The total cost is fifty dollars." Said the driver.

"Why is it so expensive?” The young man asked.

“Time is money! I waited for a long time.”

“Alright then! Thank you, Mr.”

Both paid and got out of the car. They walked to the entrance of the South River International Residence. They would take a closer look when the security guards stopped them.

"Hey! What are you two doing here? Get out of here, this isn't a place you can just go in."

"May I ask who the red Porsche belongs to that just entered?” The young man asked.

“Who? Of course the inhabitants of this place! Who else can? Yours? Go!”

“It must be quite expensive to stay here, right?”

“‘Have you just come from the village, son? Let me explain. The houses here cost at least two hundred thousand per square meter, and each house was at least fifty million. Tell me whether it is expensive here or not!”

"What's? So expensive? What if someone just rented a house here?”

“‘Is there something wrong with your brain? Why would anyone spend fifty million on a house and rent it out to someone else? And if someone has the money to live here, you think they need to rent out a house for rent? Go there!”

“Alright, alright! I'm going to leave now. Thank you!” The young man left with the young lady behind him.

The two find a cheap motel and decide to settle there for now. Only after entering the room did the woman speak.

“Sam, can't we find your brother directly?”

The young man is Sam Warner, Pearl's younger sister, and the young woman is Minnie, her boyfriend. However, Minnie's family is opposed to this relationship because Sam's family are farmers, while they live in the city. Because of this, Sam and Minnie decide to secretly come and seek Pearl's help. But it turns out Sam finally realizes that Pearl has lied to their parents. At least that's what Sam had in mind.

Pearl said that it was difficult to make money in the city and she had to pay her rent and pay her living expenses. However, Sam sees Pearl driving a luxury car and living in an expensive house.

"No! We'll go look for him once Mom and Dad are here. I've always been afraid of Pearl, and only Mom and Dad can deal with it. I'll go call my mom first." Sam pulled out his phone and called.

"Where are you going, boy? Come back here now!" The voice of a middle-aged woman sounded from the speakers.

"Mom, I'm in River City now. I'm not coming back!" said the young man.

“You brat! You ran off with somebody's daughter, now her family's coming to ask us where she is! Back here now!”

"Mom, listen to me! I found Pearl, she's rich now! He drives a million dollar car and lives in a house worth at least fifty million! Come here if you don't believe!”

"Are you crazy?”

"It's real, Mom! I'm not lying! I found Pearl's place to work yesterday, and I saw her driving a red sports car worth millions after she got home from work."

"Then?” Ask her mother over the phone.

“I didn't follow him yesterday, but I called a taxi today to wait at the entrance. I saw him enter the residential area and I asked the security guard about it. He said that the housing there cost two hundred thousand per square meter, it was enough to buy an entire house in our village. Every house in that place cost at least fifty million.”

"Are you sure? You didn't mistake him for someone else, did you?”

“What did I lie to you for, Mom? And that's my sister, is it possible that I won't recognize her.”

"All right, I'll be there with your dad in the morning. This foolish girl, how dare she send us only twenty thousand every month when she drives a sports car and lives in an expensive house in the city!”
