Mr. Lowell got up and walked to the table to pick up David's gift only after David and Celia entered the campus.
Mr. Lowell caught a glimpse of the contents and was surprised. He quickly opened both bags and was stunned by what he saw. One bag contains ten high-quality cigarettes. It was a luxury brand of cigarettes, and Mr. Lowell had never tried such an expensive cigarette before.
One cigarette of this brand costs several thousand dollars, which means ten cigarettes it costs a total of several tens of thousands of dollars. The other bag had an expensive box of branded brandy. One bottle of this liquor costs over ten thousand dollars, a box of six means it costs tens of thousands more.
Two bags from David could amount to at least a hundred thousand. Mr. Lowell stared at the items in confusion. It took a long time before Mr Lowell could come out of his shock.
It's only been a few years since the last time they met and David has been successful enough to give someone something so expensive. Coupled with the fact that David managed to find a very beautiful girlfriend like Celia, Mr. Lowell could only imagine how successful the child was.
He was always confident that David would reach incredible heights one day, but he never expected David to do so in such a short amount of time. The boy had not even graduated from university, so Mr. Lowell was curious how David could become so successful with this short amount of time.
Still, Mr. Lowell suppressed his curiosity and carefully kept the gift on the shelf. After all, it costs several tens of thousands. At the same time, David and Celia walked side by side through the sports field. Both of them seemed to be twinkling in the sunlight.
Mr. Lowell has helped David a lot during high school. To save time, David usually only delivers food through the security entrance and has students take their food from the security room. Therefore, Mr. Lowell had to help him confirm the identity of each student before allowing them
take orders that are in between.
Mr. Lowell never made a mistake in this case and David is always grateful for the help of the old man. Therefore, in addition to attending the reunion, David also came to Shu City to thank Mr Lowell.
David had given the man the best cigarettes and brandy he could buy in Shu City. In fact, he had opened and poured all the liquid from the brandy bottle and put two million dollars worth of cash into the bottle. David decides not to put the bank card, fearing that Mr. Lowell would feel uncomfortable taking the money in it from the bank.
Unfortunately, the box only had room for two million dollars in cash, so David couldn't give more even when he filled the box with it. In other words, Mr. Lowell did not hold a box of brandy but rather a box with two million dollars in cash in it.
Two million dollars is more than enough to allow Mr Lowell's family to live comfortably in a small, impoverished area like Shu City. David even left his phone number so that Mr Lowell could call him whenever needed. This is how David repays the kindness of others, simple, even though it seems rude.
David personally believes that since he is fine at the moment, the people who are kind to him should also be treated well. However, David makes a written note to remind Mr. Lowell when he leaves so as not to sell brandy if he is too reluctant to drink it.
Not because the buyer would mistake the bottles for real brandy, but because it is dangerous to reveal that he has so much money at once. Just because doing good to others does not mean one should not be wary of the potential danger that will befall that person.
Walking in the warm sunlight, David and Celia travel down memory lane as they stroll on the sports field.
The school may be on holiday, but there are still more than ten classes that hold additional lesson sessions. So, as soon as the class ended, the silence of the previous classroom was gone.
David and Celia had just started walking through the classroom not too long ago when the end-of-class bell rang. There was only ten minutes of break time between the classes, very little or no one would come to the sports field.
As soon as the teacher left, the additional tutoring students groaned in annoyance. No one likes to have half their vacation taken by an extra class, but there is nothing they can do about it. As the best High School in Shu City, Shu City High School has a tradition of providing additional classes during summer holidays.
When in Rome, do as the Romans did. All students enrolled in Shu City High School have no choice but to follow this tradition.
A male student looks out the window and happens to see David and Celia taking a walk on the sports field.
He exclaimed, “Jeez! Who are they both in the field? I've never seen them before! That girl looks so pretty!”
“Where? Where?”
“Let me see!”
A group of boys rushed to the window and looked into the field when they heard there was a beautiful girl.
“Jeez, she's so beautiful! Even Snow could not compare to her, even though she was the prettiest girl in school.”
“Since when do we have a beautiful schoolmate? Let's take a closer look at the field. Who knows, maybe we'll meet him.”
“You wish impossible things. Can't you see they're dating? Look at yourself in the mirror and look at the man there. As if you could compete with that guy.”
“What's wrong with my appearance? You look worse than me, okay? Gods alone don't know how your mother gave birth to a dwarf like you.”
“Tell that again, if you dare!”
“I will say it again and again if necessary. You look like a dwarf.”
“I'll kill you!”
Seeing how the two of them were going to fight, the people around them quickly
separate them. No one is happy to have to come for extra classes during the holidays, and students often get into conflicts over small matters due to their already gloomy mood.
“David, let's visit Madame Han later!” cellia.
“Sure. I was thinking about it too.” replied David.
Miss Han was their homeroom teacher during their senior year, and she was very kind to them because David and Celia had always been the two top scorers in their years of study.
“But the teachers should be in the classroom now, so let's find them after the class is over.”
“OK!”
The two talked about their high school experience as they walked.
Time passed, and now is lunch time. The ending lesson bell rings.
David and Celia walked into the teaching area and entered the building. All the students they passed by looked at the two curiously. Especially because of how attractive and charming they are. The prettiest and most handsome students at Shu City High School today can hardly compare to the looks of David and Celia.
The couple had already graduated three years ago, which meant new students who entered school during their senior year had also graduated and left school by now. So, no one recognized these two once popular students.
The two walked into the teacher office assigned to the senior teacher and went inside together. David and Celia enter the office together. There were about a few teachers who were packing things when they entered, most likely getting ready to go to lunch. The couple stopped in front of their former homeroom teacher, Madam Han.
“Money Han!”
“Money Han!”
They say hello at the same time.
Giselle Han was tidying her desk when suddenly, she heard someone calling her. Not too far away from him stood a young man and girl. They looked somewhat familiar to Giselle and after a moment of thought, she quickly recalled who they were.
The two had changed a lot, but they had left a long-term impression on Giselle, so she immediately remembered who they were. David and Celia's senior year was one of the proudest years of her teaching career, as two of her students were admitted to two of Somerland's top ten universities.
One of them even got the highest marks among everyone in South River Province and was enrolled in the internationally renowned Greenwood University. It was the year that she became a special grade teacher and gained some advantages.
“David, Celia, why are you two here?” Giselle asked happily.
They are his best students. The other teachers in the office turned to look at the couple as well. David is little known at Shu City High School for being accepted to SRU, but he did graduate three years ago so only the teacher who taught him once remembered who he was.
However, Celia was not only the first Shu City High School student to be admitted to Greenwood University, but she was also the year's top scorer in South River Province. Celia gets a spot in Shu City High School's Glory Column. His name was still at the very top and his status was unshakable.
“We are on summer vacation and we happened to be back in Shu City, Miss Han, so we thought we would come and visit you.” replied David.
"You're Celia Young who was accepted to Greenwood University?” A teacher pointed at Celia and asked.
“That's me, Madam.” replied Celia.
“You were the top scorer in South River Province back then. You brought glory to our school."
“You're too good, Madam. I can't do it without Madam Han.”'s teachings Celia said humbly.
“Courteous girl! You are kind and smart, I know you will reach incredible heights in the future.”
“We'll have lunch first, Giselle. Have fun and chat with your students.”
The other teachers said goodbye to Giselle and left the office for lunch.
They were all envious of Giselle, back then. Both of his students are enrolled in Somerland's top ten universities, and one of them is the province's top scorer as well. As their homeroom teacher, Giselle's name was widespread.
The director of the school has plans to retire, and there are rumors about how Giselle will become the next director once this group of seniors graduate.
The other teachers were envious, but this was up to luck and there was nothing the other teachers could do to change it. Despite moving on in the second year, Celia still managed to become the top scorer.
“You two have eaten? Let's eat outside. We can talk while eating.” suggested Giselle.
“Sure! But we should take care of you, Madame Han. Thank you for taking care of us at the time" David said.
“This is all your own hard work. All I do is guide you.”
