The Duke Daughter Life
59| Happiness and Regret

...HAPPY READING...

"Come here, Lail."

Lail's heart was beating faster. Nervousness immediately struck out however, Anom immediately gave a calming smile, as if saying everything would be fine.

Slowly, the dress dangling until the surface began to drag, Lail stepped slowly until Anom let her daughter stand before Zavir. Guidance that will carry out the sacred ritual begins to do one by one the blessing process until the moment of the wedding vow is completed.

"Don't I give you a kiss now?" Zavir tilted his head slightly while Lail glanced at the invited guests. Of the invited guests, Lail met with Gaiden who looked grim and hurt even though he still showed a little happy.

A few days ago, Lail got a letter from Gaiden. The man apologizes and hopes that Lail has a much better life with Zavir and promises to start with Nilyar, trying to accept the woman despite her difficulties, he now has a son from Nilyar. Gaiden began to step onto a new page while slowly organizing his heart.

"Don't look at it, Lail. Now you are mine and I am yours."

Lail jerks. Zavir's large, warm hand caught his jaw and slowly distracted him from Gaiden. The silence of the invited guests then broke especially Rakaz who cheered mischievously when Zavir immediately followed Lail's lips.

"Thank you, Lail." Zavir then took off the pangutan, cupped Lail's face while fusing their foreheads.

The moment made Asye and Hendry moved, to the point that the corner of their eyes was watering. The struggle of the two in bringing Lail and Zavir closer finally came to fruition. "How sweet they are" said Asye, followed by a nod of Hendry and Rakaz.

...***...

Five years have passed since the wedding. Lail had been the wife of the second prince and a Duchess. As promised by Zavir, their marriage seemed to be blessed with abundant happiness and Zavir never traveled far because he felt the most comfortable place was Lail and her two children, Arthur and his three-year-old daughter, Jeane Laizav.

"What are you doing there, Zavir?"

The waist-tracked tail saw five-year-old Arthur wielding a wooden sword while pointing it at a wooden statue resembling a person.

"I trained Arthur to be a great man like me." Zavir patted his chest proudly then on the side of his right foot, Jeane looked at Zavir while applauding.

Lail exhaled and carried Jeane in a sling. "They're still kids. Don't you have a slightly lighter activity for our son?"

Zavir frowned, thinking hard about what answer was rightly given to Lail. "Didn't Amylia need a study buddy? What if Arthur goes to the Palace and studies with Amylia?"

Amylia Clasie is the daughter of Asye and Hendry, and Arthur is only a few months old. It's just that, letting Arthur stay in the palace will test Lail's feelings.

"Why is Arthur so big so fast, huh." Lail's eyes are glazed.

Zavir who understood Lail's feelings then gave a small swipe at the top of his wife's head. "We can visit Arthur every day. And then, I think Amylia would be happier if Arthur became her study partner. Putting another noble child by the crown princess' side might actually make big brother anxious because those nobles could take advantage of this opportunity through their son."

"If you're a pelgi's sister, who's Jeane belmain with?" as if understanding what her parents were saying, Jeane looked down weakly.

Zavir glanced at Arthur who was very focused on hitting the wooden puppet with a sword then turned to look at Lail with a slight mischievous glancing. "What if mom and dad give Jeane a sister? Didn't Jeane always expect to be a great brother like Arthur?"

"Sister? Jeane wants!" Jeane nodded enthusiastically but Lail gave Zavir a fist.

"One nteng your mouth. And every night you torture me until it's hard to walk in the morning!" Lail pouted and called Arthur for lunch.

"It's lunch time. Arthur, let's go with mom and eat together, "take Lail.

"Where are you with dad?" Arthur glanced at Zavir who rubbed his arms.

Lail glared sharply at her husband. "Dad will follow because a lot of work is waiting for him."

"Dad, the spirit of work! I'll keep some dry biscuits for you!" arhur exclaimed while punching the air.

Zavir laughed. His heart warmed to see the backs of his two children as well as his wife, a small family who made his days feel good. "Your son is the most attentive."

Meanwhile in Valazad, the mansion of Grand Duke Valazad. A little girl in a pink dress splashed in Gaiden's arms and not far from Nilyar looked awkward.

"Should we have lunch together, Grand Duke?" Nilyar rubbed his nape awkwardly.

Gaiden nodded his head and Nilyar turned his eyes brightly. Over the past four years, Gaiden has started to get a little soft on her, but has not shown the feelings she has craved all along. Nilyar begins to regret all his past deeds against Lail and Gaiden later last year, Nilyar decides to meet Lail and admit his guilt to the point of prostrating himself to beg for forgiveness.

However, not everything can be repaired. Nilyar accepts Lail's spaciousness but her three older brothers have moved away from her grasp and are more likely to acknowledge Lail as her successor. Nilyar desperately captures Gaiden's heart because he already has nothing but his daughter but, after his apology to Lail is discovered by Gaiden, the man's attitude changes, from softening to little by little paying attention.

"I once told Lail that I was going to start a new life with you but you still didn't change back then so I couldn't keep my promise to myself. But, Nilyar, I hope you can forget a little bit about the past because everyone is coming to terms with it. You too ... I hope to realize that it's never too late to get better when you have a lot of determination and opportunity."

Nilyar was wide-eyed, the pain and warmth were surging ferociously in her heart. Gaiden's words and shady gaze managed to knock down his defenses, then he cried loudly, squabbling while covering his face with both hands.

"Act... I'm really sorry I ruined both of you're lives. Until death ... I can't even forget the past."

Gaiden approached and left their daughter in the middle. Gaiden then removed both Nilyar's hands from his face.

"Then that's your punishment. But, don't punish our child, I think we need to improve this relationship so that our child can be happy and I hope you can be a good wife and mother, I will carry out my duties from now on, as the father of our daughter also as your husband."

Thank you for all your support in my story!

I know there are still many shortcomings, but I will learn again to present a better story over time.

Sorry, if there are many mistakes and shortcomings in this story especially I have been showing up too long a new episode.

I hope you can make an impression in this story so that I can write in the future!

In addition, you can find some of my other works here, as I recently created:

...First: The Deal that punishes the Tyrant...

Blurbs:

When her family is threatened with execution by the Tyrant, Gaia decides to meet the Tyrant to make a deal.

Rahid Stearic Hill met a woman who dared to make a deal by using her weaknesses, and it made her emotions quite overflowing, but what should she do if the woman actually arouses her boredom?

"What if I reject you? After all, I don't care if I have to die because my grudge has been met." Rahid grinned, pressing the sword under Gaia's chin to look at her more.

Rahid smiled cynically seeing Gaia cornered. "Why did you stop talking?"

Gaia was upset and consciously stared fiercely at Rahid. "I see the aura of the curse has reached your heart. Looks like before my family, you'll die first."

See you in my next work!
