"Good night" Gaiden said with a big smile that made his eyes look like a crescent moon.
Lail blinked three times when he looked at Gaiden until the next second Lail squealed restrained and was about to wake up but injuries all over the body, especially the hands, made Lail grimace.
"Don't over-move, your injuries are still so new especially the injury to your right hand" Gaiden explained, confirming Lail's bedding position, tidying the blanket on Lail's body and then walking out, calling the waiter to bring food.
Gaiden sat back in the starting position, waiting for Lail to say something.
"You saved me?" terka Lail's.
"Yes." Yeah."
Lail closed her eyes trying to suppress the sense of dizziness that whack then the tail of her eyes glanced at Gaiden very worriedly. "W-did you save anyone but me?"
"Yes, a young man. She's your bodyguard?"
Lail nodded. "How is he doing?"
"He was sober this afternoon after seeing you I told him to get back to rest" Gaiden told the Guardian.
This time Lail did not regret her meeting with Gaiden.
"Am I at your house?" lail asked, her voice so weak.
"Yes." Yeah."
Lail is less sure to call it home because this part of the room is so spacious plus the heraldic design on the wall feels familiar to Lail, ah! it was the same emblem embedded in the sword of Gaiden, a winged lion holding a golden shield.
Gaiden was definitely not just a government person, the aura Gaiden emitted was quite capable of suppressing him, instead of thinking about it longer, Lail just kept thinking about the coachman who smiled at him when he fell. The coachman had not seen Lail before in the mansion even though every hired coachman had Lail poult his face. What's the new coachman? Nah! Lail was so sure that it was an outsider.
"Your head hurts?" Gaiden's index finger was stuck between Lail's two nosediving eyebrows.
Lail exhaled, putting away Gaiden's index finger using his left hand. "No."
"Thank you for saving me" Lail continued gratefully.
Gaiden commented a faint smile and Sebas walked in while pushing a silver trolley filled with dinner. Gaiden frowned, wondering why Sebas was carrying food.
"Alright, Sebas. Please take care of him, I have to see Simon" Gaiden said as he stood up.
Sebas' spirit suddenly disappears, but Sebas hopes Gaiden feeds Lail because the woman's right hand is injured.
"Gee!" Lail blinked as Gaiden's rough big hand slid down on the recess of his neck.
"Sorry," Gaiden's great-grandson then rests his free hand against Lail's back, carrying Lail to lean on the back of the mattress for easy food.
After Gaiden left the room, letting Lail just stare at his wide back which disappeared from behind the door.
Sebas smiled and sat down on the sofa where Gaiden was sitting. "I'm so happy to see the Grand Duke so attentive to you."
Lail turned her head, eleven eyebrows raised and the gaze focused only on the movement of Sebas' lips that were almost completely covered in whiskers. "Grand Duke?" parrot Lail.
Sebas frowned, as confused as Lail. "Yes, Grand Duke. The dashing and mighty man who just came out was Grand Duke Valazad," explained Sebas again who managed to make a flash of memories Lail when acting arbitrarily to Gaiden during the holidays in Gazea for a week.
" ... Don't tell me you just found out from me?" terka Sebas and Lail.
"Y-yeah ..." Lail answered lethargicly then looked Sebas in the eye. "Am I in the castle now?" Lail ensure.
Sebas nodded. "Yes!"
"Huh ... Oh my," Lail is implying.
The next morning, two servants took Lail into the bathroom, gently rubbing Lail's body in a tub filled with water with the fragrance of flower petals. The wound was still a bit wet so the waiter so carefully cleaned Lail's body.
"How long has Miss and Grand Duke been together?" ask one of the servants.
Lail was stunned from the daydream, choosing to observe the petals of the flower that moved increasingly because of its movement in the water.
"Everyone was curious about this because for the first time the Grand Duke treated a woman like her lover. Right, right?" add the other waiter while smiling ignorantly.
Lail exhaled while shaking his head, why were these servants so enthusiastic about his relationship with Gaiden.
"We just met." Lail answered the origin while closing her eyes, enjoying the warmth of the water.
The two maids were certainly in disbelief, but they kept quiet until they finished taking care of Lail to help Lail get dressed.
Lail was wearing a Flutter canary dress. The dress had a length of up to half a pole of Lail's calf and the chest part of the dress was in the form of a low V-kneck, not too exposing Lail's chest line.
The two maids had simply styled Lail's hair, shouldered while leaving the child's hair on each side of the earlobe then put the final touch on Lail's face followed by a soft pink dye moisten Lail's lips so as not to be too pale.
"Well, she's beautiful" the waiters praised when they saw the reflection of Lail's face and appearance in the mirror. It looks beautiful and graceful even though it is blocked by a sling (broken arm sling) on Lail's right hand.
Lail's face was a little mingled. "Thank you."
"Welcome pag .... Whoa!" Sebas who suddenly appeared was amazed at Lail's appearance.
"Good morning, Sebas." Lail greeted back to make Sebas wake up from his daydream.
"Ekhem!" Sebas cleared his throat while allowing the butterfly ribbon on the collar of his white shirt wrapped in a black suit and said, "Grand Duke is waiting for you to have breakfast together."
Lail seemed hesitant, since she knew Gaiden was the Grand Duke, it felt like Lail's guts were shrinking a bit, and, but refusing to have breakfast with a Grand Duke and his savior is disrespectful and self-destructive.
"Come, Sebas." Lail then walked carefully, the bruises on his legs were not too pronounced even so in this condition Lail had to be extra careful.
Now, Lail had filled the empty seats in the grand dining room with the calm-looking Gaiden enjoying the dishes while Lail was trying to eat using her left hand.
"Must I have to?" Gaiden offers to help, but his offer leaves Lail shocked to the point that his spoon falls, creating quite a violent twang.
"Ah, sorry, Grand Duke," said Lail while cleaning up some splashes of food stains around her plate.
Gaiden smiled faintly. "I don't think I need to introduce myself anymore, yeah."
Lail returned Gaiden's gaze then nodded lightly, not needing to say much because the man who was eight years older than him was like playing tricks on him.
"But I'd rather we call each other names or talk casually when not in an official event, like this one," Gaiden said.
This offer is a lucky break for someone, of course Lail will accept it plus maybe if he gets closer to Gaiden, he can do big things, he said, but Lail had to throw that thought away considering Gaiden had such a strong charisma that it made Lail rather afraid of falling into his charms.
"If your condition is good enough, I'll take you back to Raitle. I'm afraid your father will panic if he finds out that his daughter is going through something bad, so I didn't tell him anything, Lail Manuella, Duke Raitle's daughter."
Lail flinched, but hurriedly controlled her emotions. No wonder Gaiden knew his identity, more than that Lail agreed with Gaiden's words, but drove him back? Nah! That must not happen because it will definitely create a new rumor that horrendously the nobles and citizens of Raitle, not just Raitle, maybe Gazea as well.
"Thank you, but I'll go back alone to Raitle if I recover anyway, actually I want to see my grandmother in Agapi Village."
"Agapi Village is not far from here, I will accompany you then."
"No need, I can go sen—"
"Don't be too stubborn, I happen to have some work there," Gaiden cut open while smothered in the chest, staring at Lail more intensely.
"I shouldn't have said my purpose!" rutuk Lail while showing a stifled look of annoyance so that Gaiden was really anxious to see her.
