18| Attending an Engagement Party

The engagement party will be held tonight, Lail stared at the soft blue dress she had prepared a few days ago and was about to wear at the engagement party, but a black box with golden ribbons came in without mentioning the sender.

It contained a beautiful black dress, complete with transparent netting gloves as well as a hat with a fur decoration on the shoots.

"Who from, huh?" Lail muttering.

"Which one are you going to wear, miss?" ask Naika.

Lail stared at the two dresses in turn, the bright color was a polite color to attend an engagement party, so Lail told Naika that she would wear her blue dress.

The masculine figure of Gaiden made the women want to attract the attention of the man, but Gaiden showed a cold and intimidating expression even blatantly avoiding some of the women approaching to say hello.

Before long all the guests lowered their voices to see Wanner coming down from the stairs with Aiksa. Wanner was wearing a white shirt with a light blue suit that was soft to match her pants as well as Aikasi who was wearing a blue dress, just like Lail's dress.

Aikasi's smile expands to see Redia has come, soon the excitement will occur here. A few days ago Aikta asked Redia to tell Lail's preparations including about the dress to be used. After finding out, Aikta asked her wedding fashion designer to make a dress that was exactly like Lail's dress through the image that Redia gave.

Gaiden looked at Wanner and Aikta while shaking the small cup in his hand. "So Wanner prefers that woman, yes. Well, after all, Lail only fits with me." Gaiden started to gulp down his drink.

However, suddenly when the door opened again, all the guests began to whisper and Gaiden moved away from a quiet corner to see what was of concern to many.

Gaiden felt his heart pound faster, but a second later a smile decorated his handsome face firmly Gaiden.

The black dress specially designed by the best seamstresses in Gazea looks so perfect when wrapping Lail's proportional body. The black color of the dress is in stark contrast to the smooth, white skin of Lail.

"Huh .... I'd go crazy like this." Gaiden covered his reddened face. It felt like he wanted to grab Lail by the waist, kiss the back of the woman's hand and say that Lail was his, but remembering Lail didn't even want everyone to know about her closeness made Gaiden have to hold back.

Redia and Aikap look at each other. Redia was convinced that Lail was wearing the blue dress, but why wear a new dress that looks so expensive and beautiful even though it is so dark?

Lail who did not care when the attention was focused on her, just flinching when she saw the dress of Aikkan exactly the same as her blue dress torn in the mansion.

So, Lail did not wear the blue dress because it turned out to be the wrong size, smaller so that Lail was so tight wearing it.

"Thank you for coming, Lady Lail!"

"Did?!"

Lail gasped to find her two hands cupped by Aikas. The red gush on Aiksa's cheeks made everyone sure how happy Aikan was to see Lail coming, but because of Aekan's actions some people start whispering badly about Lail even blatantly pitying Lail who failed to get Wanner.

Lail suppressed the anger, then released her hand from Aikan. "Congratulations on your engagement" said Lail along with Wanner who had been standing next to Aiksa.

"It's all thanks to Lady Lail!" Aiksa hugged Wanner's arm and returned with a soft tone that looked guilty. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. If it wasn't for me, it would have been the Lady standing next to the Marquess."

"Why is Lady Aikkan apologizing? Lady Lail and the Marquess' engagement ends because Lady Lail can't keep her attitude."

"I'm sure that Lady Lail still keeps a taste in the Marquess."

"Again, who would want to marry a woman who doesn't know her ethics."

Lail thought no one would talk bad about him anymore. But, Lail thought she could not stop the mouths and thoughts of others, Lail was only able to stop her hearing for a moment and then reply to Aukkan's words.

"Don't say such a thing, Lady Aikkan. I ended the engagement not because of you but because neither I nor the Marquess loved each other and we both loved others."

Lail's explanation successfully turned the invited guest's opinion upside down. Though the news that circulated, it was Wanner who ended the engagement and it turns out that Lail loves others? Who'sis that?

Everyone began to whisper, guessing while Wanner who was no less surprised did not believe Lail's words.

"Love others? Who is Lady Lail? Is that just an excuse?" Aiksa asked excitedly and loudly to make Lail so uncomfortable.

Lail frowned, Aikkan's question was outrageous. It was not only Lail who thought so but some guests.

"I think it's just an excuse not to be more humiliated" one of the guests said.

Lail clenched her hands, yes, right that was just an excuse so she wouldn't get any more embarrassed. Then, in the crowd of guests, Jay who saw Lail had a little difficulty about to advance, but a more robust figure from him split through the crowd and grabbed Lail's body into the crib.

"Grand Duke?!"

Everyone screamed loudly even Anom almost spouted a drink that had entered his throat.

"I'm the guy. After this you're gonna ask me what else to corner my woman?" Gaiden looked so angry in response to Aiksa's question that even Gaiden's intimidating gaze seemed to judge all the guests who looked down on Lail.
