No one wants to be heartbroken, including Nevandra Ardiona. In fact, it took him five years to let it sprout and grow back. The phase of self-loathing has even gone through. He hated being too stupid to know what was going on and was thrown away.
Today is the first day Nevan has returned to Indonesia in five years. Actually, if he could he did not want to go home even though he graduated college two years ago. If not for the company where he worked who asked him to take care of the company branch in Indonesia, he might also still not return. For him, Indonesia is a wound.
Nevan dragged his suitcase out of the arrival section and found a woman waving at him so cheerfully.
That woman is Shanessa. A sweet girl with a cheerful personality who for two years has been in a close relationship with Nevan. Yeah, a close relationship that doesn't know what it's called.
Love for Nevan is a feeling he once had, but now no longer rest.
Shanessa doesn't care either, though Nevan has never expressed love for her. After all, they are no longer ABGs who need a shooting session to have a serious relationship.
Nevan walked up to Shanessa and commented a thin smile after removing her sunglasses. The handsome man was indeed minimal in expression and again Shanessa did not care.
"Welcome to Indonesia, my dear!" Shanessa spread her arms and immediately hugged Nevan longingly, making Nevan bend over slightly. "I miss" whispered Shanessa spoiled.
There would be no romantic reply Shanessa received and she was already used to it.
"It's been a while?" nevan asked after the hug loosened.
"Lumayan. I woke up early for you" Shanessa retorted, then quickly grabbed Nevan's burly arms and walked together towards the parking lot.
"I'm a bit nervous" Shanessa said when Nevan asked for a car key.
Nevan shook his head. "Driving is the male part" he replied lightly, then took the car keys that Shanessa took for granted.
Shanessa's body froze. A light touch just like that has been able to create a hue on his cheek, to make his heart beat even more unkillful.
"You go in or we sit in the parking lot" teased Nevan and Shanessa and opened the car door with indistinct smiles.
Nevan chuckled at Shanessa's behavior. He started turning the keys and driving the black APV so skillfully, out of the parking lot.
Shanessa from earlier was still down, at least until it felt her cheeks were no longer heating up. Luckily, his phone clinked and deftly he pulled the phone out of the bag. Instantly he forgot the timid drama of his cat when he read the news he had just read from the class group.
"Well! Manda wants to get married," she screeches with widened eyes. Realizing that Nevan did not know Manda, Shanessa began to explain enthusiastically, "Manda was my classmate. He hasn't graduated, but he's getting married."
Nevan nodded.
"City ... Envy ..." Shanessa whine. His eyes were still focused on the phone screen in his hand with a grinning smile.
"You want to get married too?"
Nevan's sudden question, made Shanessa immediately turn her head.
"What do you want?" shanessa asked doubtfully.
There was a bitterness in Nevan's eyes every time he talked about marriage and he just stayed silent.
"I'm sober. You've never told me how you feel" Shanessa said, trying to smile. "I told you once that if there was a woman close to you, I would back off. And in fact, nothing. So, I feel .. You gave me a chance."
Shanessa looked down again. This time not because of embarrassment, but for the sake of covering his face that was ready to cry.
Nevan breathed deeply. He realized, it had trapped Shanessa in uncertainty. Slowly, Nevan's hand that had been grasping the steering wheel, now stretched out and gently rubbed the top of Shanessa's head.

Shanessa looked at Nevan confused because the car driven by the prospective CEO of one of the retail companies in Jakarta was actually heading towards her home, not Nevan's house.
"Well, why go to my house?" cetus Shanessa is confused.
Shanessa rounded her eyes. His hands were raised covering his mouth which was holding up.
The car stopped and parked in the spacious courtyard of the Ardiwinata residence. The owner of this luxury house seems to be very fond of plants because almost on the entire side of the house is surrounded by plants that refresh the eyes.
"So for the sake of picking you up, my lazy grandson is willing to get up early?"
That was how Darya Ardiwinata welcomed Nevan and Shanessa who had just got out of the car, making the granddaughter jump in shock.
"I think grandpa's still sleeping" ringis Shanessa. Then, he rushed to hug the grandfather who was still holding the hose of the watering plant.
"In the morning blind crept out of the house, do you think grandpa didn't know?" Said the grandfather pretending to be upset.
Shanessa looked at her grandfather in amazement. "I'm giving up." He pursed his lips funny, then continued, "I can never hide anything from grandfather."
Grandpa and Nevan chuckled together. Shanessa is spoiled and cheerful.
"Hi, Nevan."
Nevan smiled politely, then grabbed grandfather's hand and kissed him. Studying abroad doesn't make Nevan forget his culture.
"Grandfather, how are you?"
"It's fine if your boyfriend can reduce his behavior."
Hearing Grandpa's words just now made Shanessa purs her lips again.
Nevan glanced at Shanessa, then reviewed a faint smile. "Grandfather looks a lot more excited now."
"Clear, dong. Grandfather has found his soulmate" Shanessa said, closing her lips to Nevan's ear, pretending to whisper.
Hearing that Nevan got a little clumsy. He just found out about this news. Darya Ardiwinata was a widower.
"ah! You're this. Nevan's misunderstood, no." Darya hurriedly protested when she saw the tall young man's awkward reaction.
This time it was Shanessa. He is also amused to see the wrong response Nevan misinterpreted with the purpose of his speech.
Nevan, who felt she had misreacted, immediately forced a laugh. "That's good news, right?"
Grandpa grinned, then pinched his granddaughter's waist, until Shanessa's laughter grew. "Quickly you straighten out this misunderstanding," said Darya anxious.
"No, you misunderstood. Next time, I'll tell you a story. Ah, no! I immediately knew him, like my grandfather's soulmate," Shanessa explained, still trying to hold back a laugh.
Nevan nodded, then rubbed his own nape.
Why did Grandpa get married again? A soul mate doesn't look at age, does he? thought Nevan.
"Where is Am Ardiman?" nevan asked trying to find a new topic. He turned his head towards the house.
"Papa's out of town two weeks. Eum, three days to go home."
"It seems you can't wait to ask Shaness to her papa, huh?"
Hearing Darya's words just now, made Shanessa turn her head quickly, then look at her grandfather's anxiety. Then, he hugged the oldest person in his family again, timidly.
"Not to be shy. What else will happen to you besides getting married?"
Nevan just shut up. "Before deciding the end. I have something to tell you first" Nevan said seriously.
