Papa's Little Daughter

Papa's Little Daughter
Shan's Favorite Food

Chandra hugged Shan's sleeping body. The sound of the door squealing caused by Rosa finally made Chandra wake up. His drowsiness suddenly disappeared in an instant after seeing the appearance of Rosa.

"Where are you? Shan Nyariin asked to be bathed with you" said Chandra in a soft voice because she did not want Shan to wake up.

"I'm sorry I—aku—aku..."

Chandra frowned not understanding, why Rosa was so difficult just to answer her out of nowhere.

But Rosa's puffy eyes make Chandra undo the intention to incline Rosa to confess.

"Okay, please just get Shan's dinner ready."

Rosa nodded.

It wasn't until 10 minutes that Shan's dinner was finally ready. Rosa made Shan her favorite omelet.

Knowing his daughter's dinner was ready on the nightstand, Chandra woke up the little body in his arms.

"Shan wake up yuk, eat first baby, then sleep again." Chandra slowly shook the little boy's body.

If Shan hadn't fallen asleep after taking a shower this afternoon, Shan would have been eating dinner by now. And sleep until morning. But as it turned out, Shan's sleeping hours were completely messy.

The one thousand ways Chandra did to wake Shan were unsuccessful. Chandra is now scratching his own nape, confused about having to do much less for his daughter who remains the snore.

"Rosa please wake Shan." Chandra finally asks Rosa for help.

"I'm sorry but I can't Chandra."

"Why? Didn't I just ask for help to wake up Shan, why did you refuse? Maybe Shan's gonna wake up if you get up."

Chandra is surprised by Rosa, why Rosa is now quite difficult to ask for help by Chandra. Would it be better if Chandra told Rosa to go home because her presence here is not needed.

"That's gone. I was dating Dr. Hans. That's all you can do."

Rosa could only lower her face. With a shunt step he came out of the nursery and chose to sit on the chair provided in the waiting room.

Rosa can't do anything, she's just resigned. Shan's question yesterday still lingered clearly in his mind.

"Kak Rosa mau nggak menikah sama papa? Kak Rosa mau nggak jadi mamanya Shan?"

......***......

A plate of rice and omelets on the nightstand finally ended cold until the morning. Yes, Shan is really unbendable. Chandra is overwhelmed, and Shan skips dinner for the umpteenth time.

Chandra stared at the redundant food. No, no, not redundant, Chandra will warm that omelette. Fry it back for his own food because Shan should not eat foods that are not fresh.

"Papa Shan wants to eat fried chicken."

"Huh? Fried chicken?"

Shan nodded enthusiastically.

"But but but... Shan can't eat fried foods with a lot of fried chicken oil. Shan will cough."

"Uhuk uhuk uhuk." Just finishing off Chandra's lips, Shan's cough had already appeared.

It was Shan's cough that had been a month ago, and until now had not disappeared.

"Papa makein Shan chicken soup yes. Tasty Shan, Shan's throat is good."

"No mauu. Shan wants to eat fried chicken pa. Chicken has crisps." That's it."

"Oh Shan can't, inget said doctor—"

"Kalo Shan wants to eat that, no papa. Shan can eat. I'll let it."

"Eh." Chandra was surprised that suddenly Dr. Hans had come and immediately made a sound.

"Yeayyy Shan can eat fried chicken again. Shan doesn't eat fried chicken."

Chandra sighed, well if allowed by Shan's doctor, Chandra will follow the little boy's will.

Chandra immediately went to the pantry. Instead of relying on his wares to open an online food app, Chandra chose to make his own fried chicken Shan.

Luckily there was a piece of unprocessed chicken thigh in the refrigerator. Chandra straight through.

A little salt, a little coriander powder and very little flavorings are established on the chicken thigh pieces. Chandra is not sure of the taste, it will definitely be very bland. But hopefully Shan likes it.

"Taraaa fried chicken Shan's request is ready!" Chandra, the chef, came with a plate of Shan's food request.

Shan screeched in excitement and couldn't wait to taste it.

"Where are the crisps?"

"Emm sorry Shan, but our flour supply is running out. No papa, Shan's chicken without crisps."

Shan's smile expanded. "No papa pa, the important thing is this fried chicken right?"

Chandra nodded with relief.

One mouthful went into Shan's mouth.

Silence is long enough.

Chandra Ketar-ketir awaits his next answer.

"Enak pa's. It's delicious, Shan likes it!"

"Alhamdulillah." Chandra grabbed Shan's body into his arms. Smell at the top of Shan's head in a row.

"Thank you dear, papa is very fond."

Shan smiled, smiling at the papa. A very sweet smile. To the extent that those who witnessed it shed tears. Rosa. Rosa had been crying in the distance from the distance watching the interaction of the two father and son.

...***...

"Papa, Shan can't eat ice cream?"

Chandra sat down for a moment, 'Towards are allowed to eat fried chicken, now Shan is asking for ice cream too? Hadeh...'

Chandra gently rubbed Shan's head, very carefully the man tried to give the little boy some understanding. "Can't dong darling, ice cream will have preservatives. Not good for Shan."

There was a disappointed look that adorned Shan's face after hearing the explanation from his papa. Actually Chandra is very unbearable, but how else. This is all for Shan's good.

"Can't you really? Once upon a time can't be?"

Shan's two large, teary eyes left Chandra deeply tormented. Why is that little boy so good at displaying clear mimicry?

"Huffd..." Chandra's long breaths let out. "Yaudah, I'll ask Dr. Hans first."

Shan's smile instantly burst into disarray.

"Eh doesn't mean you get it. We'll wait for an answer from Dr. Hans. If not allowed do not sulk, cry okay?"

"okay!"

Chandra took a moment to go to the room of Dr. Hans to ask about it. Is Shan allowed to eat ice cream just this time?

Tok tok...

Chandra knocks on the door of the room to which he is going, the doctor Hans graciously opens the door and tells Chandra to go inside.

Chandra's vision was immediately directed at the figure of Rosa who turned out to be there.

So is it true what Chandra's been thinking all along? Are they both lovers?

"What need did Chandra come here for? Shan why sir?"

Chandra tries to focus back on the original goal. "I just want to ask, Shan will force you to eat ice cream. Can she have ice cream, doc? Her favorite strawberry flavored ice cream. He could no longer bear to eat his favorite ice cream."

"That's okay, please just give me. Shan can eat whatever he wants."

Chandra immediately frowned. "Well, is that it?"

"It's okay, Chandra sir, just love what Shan wants. Just follow it so Shan doesn't stress. Shan's main pleasure. Shan can really eat anything, as long as the amount is not much and not often. Give him a break of food sir, for example this month once, the next month once, and so on."

Chandra nodded in understanding it.

"Thank you so much sir. I'll let you step down."

"Sir Chandra doesn't stay here for a while?" haggle doctor Hans while looking towards the sofa occupied by Rosa.

"No sir, thank you. Excuse me." Chandra immediately turned around and went out of the room.

Chandra and Shan are in the park. Shan sat by himself next to his papa. They scooped up each of the ice cream cups purchased from the wagon ice cream seller, who had the song. Shan ate strawberry-flavored ice cream, while Chandra chocolate-flavored ice cream.

While eating they talk about many things.

"Or not Shan, your brother Elsa's work was just sitting in the room doctor Hans. Why try there? It's a hell of a bitch."

"Oh yeah? is Rosa there? Why is Rosa there?"

"Sir Elsa Shan, Elsa. Not Rosa, who the hell is Rosa?"

"But but but, isn't her name the real brother Rosa?"

Chandra just rolled both his eyes lazily. "Judah change the subject."

"What the hell is a topic?"

"Topic is Shan's topic. Anyway the topic. Topic of conversation."

"Top—topic bicker—pancacancacan? What the hell did Shan not understand."

Chandra chose not to serve Shan, and focused on finishing the ice cream in her hands.

'Oh my God, it's hard to say the same.'
