[Chapter 34-2] The Labyrinth of Death

I was back to aiming, although the shootout was briefly held back, after Juan's order was in the air.

This time I found it hard to focus. My mind is supported by the royal misgivings. Many times my shots missed far, because of the shots I was unable to give the direction. Mind divided!

Maybe I was the only one who felt that worry, because from then on, the villagers were calm, like without fear. In fact, our position is at the tip of the horn.

Yenz patted my shoulder. Pressing her slowly several times, to encourage me to lower my body. Hiding behind a log.

"Marg, relax. You just have to trust your partner, while you're on the battlefield. I don't know what they have, but looking at the calm hue on the faces of the residents, I'm sure there's a secret weapon that the Tastal Tribe has stored up to deal with this war."

Yenz's argument, I admit it makes sense. But what weapon?

If judging from the fact, that they are an inland tribe, is it possible that the secret weapon in question is magic, witchcraft, voodoo, or the use of a young wife?

Making the Vajal troops exposed to strange diseases, such as vomiting blood mixed with maggots, as a reward because they still dare to attack.

Seems not. If they do have such knowledge, why not from the beginning issued.

Bad thoughts don't stop playing in my head. Bad assumptions began to emerge. Like; actually they've resigned because they know they can't win.

"Soldier! In my words!" Juan shouted again, in the middle of the sea of his subordinates.

The skinny man deliberately paused the command, and did not immediately give any sign of movement. Letting the crocons form a line formation. Makes my already broken heart, more and more unbecoming.

******! Soon, massive sporadic attacks will be carried out.

With a troubled mind, I walked away from the post mid-war, intending to head to the defensive side. Maybe it can help them to face the onslaught of opponents.

Just a few meters away, someone with a heavy and loud voice called my name. Either he intended to yell angrily, or simply reprimand with a shout.

From hearing his voice, I knew who that person was. In fact, before I turned around to look.

"Where are you going, brave man?" ask the man who became the warlord of the Tastal Tribe, and perhaps also, as well as the right hand of the Elder of Perota.

"you mean? After all, who are you really?" muttered. Still feeling the meaning of his call. Pure praise or satire.

"Ah, right .. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Langda Lethova. Warlord of the Tastal Tribe, as well as a confidant of the Elder of Perota. " My guess was right. And, judging from her name, she might have a familial relationship with Manika. "You may call me Langda, brother-in-law. I salute your bravery for conquering my cousin Manika. An impossibility that finally materialized. I'd think twice if I was told to face him."

Glad I heard the compliment, but at the same time grieved for Margo.

How not. This hairy man would be the husband of a woman, whom even a figure like Langda was disinclined to face.

"Ah .. thank you. But, I seem to have to leave immediately. Next time we'll talk to him."

"Wait on! Where are you really going?"

Good Lord! It could be as relaxed as he was in the midst of the rampage, which might be the end for the village and his tribe. He was a warlord.

"I want to help the side, because there the defense is weak. We won't be able to survive, if they do a massive onslaught!"

Instead of thinking, the pigtailed man laughed. Make goiter in the heart only. Good thing you're still counting Margo's future sister-in-law. Otherwise, I've already shot your jenong eel!

Langda approached, then grabbed me. He will speak up, when the sound of a gun eruption is heard. The opponent's camp sign will start a huge onslaught from all directions.

Damnit damnit! It's beginning.

"Silence, brother." Langda held back my movements tightly in his embrace. "You're more needed on the main road, with your great skill in shooting."

"But ...."

"You know what these forests and housing complexes call in wartime conditions?" Obviously I'm shaking. "Milliamen of death. That's the name given by Noktalius, a great genius, who was instrumental in designing the architecture of this village."

Who is Noktalius?

It's not important to think about who he is. Now the trained soldiers from Vajal, have moved into the complex and the forest. Soon they will be savagely attacked anj*ing ....

A moment!

It was clear that the barking of the dog said. Snarling and barking incessantly, followed by hysterical and terrified screams. Moreover, the eruption of weapons from the opposing line, more came from both sides of the battle field wings.

It was clearly heard, if the firearm was rushed, and filled with panic. Not precision without calculation. Different from what happens in the middle of the field of action.

I turned my head, and saw a big smile growing on the face of the stern-faced man, who was still embracing me.

"It is not without reason that the housing and forest complex next to it is called the labyrinth of death. Ajag, who, on the advice of Mr. Noktalius, had us breed and train him, was the main key in the defense of the village. With their small and agile bodies, plus their strong predatory instincts. A narrow area with a complicated terrain, was the most suitable place, for they could slaughter opponents who tried to force their way into the territory."

I realized at last. The layout of the house block is not symmetrical, made so that the invader becomes confused and difficulty in moving. It is easy for them to get lost, then surrounded by agile, especially in a state of panic because of surprise.

It's in the complex. Somehow with the forest, which is certainly more unpredictable.

One word for it all; genius!

So I wondered, with the figure of Noktalius that Langda said.

"You don't have to worry. Go back to the post, because they need your help more. See, without your presence, the enemy is easier to advance. Please help us again. I'll have someone make sure you don't run out of ammo."

Langda passed to the back. Saying something to a teenager, who is in charge of supplying, while pointing at me.

One of my biggest anxieties is gone. With light steps, I returned to the back of the wooden beam next to Yenz.

The bodo time. Now it is more important to withstand the invasion of the soldiers in the middle of the battlefield, which has increasingly penetrated.

This time they resorted to inhumane tactics, which made the corpse of his comrade a shield.

I'm sure the idea came from Juan.

I took a deep breath, then held it. Trying to enter a world of silence, a place where everything can be seen more clearly.

One round of fire I unleashed in succession, and successfully knocked down five of the leading attackers, who used handguns, so that the other hand could hold the corpse of his colleague. Protecting himself and his friend with long beds, so as not to be hit by our bullets.

Their condition is getting desperate, and approximately half of the personnel, have fallen. Some are paralyzed, dead by bullets, or dying with bodies full of bite scars and shreds.

They're back on the back foot. I saw, behind the hideout of the opposing camp, there was a riot, ending with several shots, which managed to suppress it. I don't know what Juan did.

For a moment all restrained under our superiority. But my heart is not calm. I felt like something terrible was going to happen after this.

Yenz patted my shoulder. "Prepare to retreat. I feel bad about this calmness ...." Not yet closed his words, suddenly from both wings of the battlefield, there was a continuous explosion.

Crazy fellow! This must be Juan's order. He had absolutely no regard for his subordinates, who were still left in the death labyrinth.

Stupid attack with the explosion, it was also about to be done in the middle of the field of action. Some soldiers ran with bombs in hand. Forcing himself to be able to get close, to get to the point of throwing, which allows the explosives in his hand, can soar up to the target.

What they planned was never achieved, because before he got to the destination, he had already been hit by gunfire. Fall, then explode.

"Defend! They're not gonna get here! Our defense is solid!" pekik Langda's. I'm sure he's trying hard, even from the shakes of his voice, it feels right there is anxiety. That's vivid. From the explosion, many died, or fled in fear.

"Bombs coming!" scream someone.

I was hiding from the suicide bomb explosion, jumped to my feet, and saw six sticks of dynamite, soaring toward us.

"Run, man!" Yenz pulled my shoulder.

Run? Yes, I want to run, but behind me is the House of Jeunjung, in which Malika hides with Elder Perota. What if the effects of the explosion would hurt them?

I'm holding Yenz's hand. Throw away the long-barreled shotgun that had only one bullet left. Entering the world of silence, to then pull the revolver, and in a row I fired three bullets pointing upwards.

Explosions followed in the air. Like fireworks at a new year.

All the attention was on me. Makes me a little embarrassed to develop a smile. People then cheered - except for Captain Sando. Celebrating my success spared us from death.

"Back to your posts. We hit them, and ...!"

"Stop!" The loud speech from the House of Jeunjung cut Langda's sentence.

Manika jumped down from the terrace, and immediately approached her cousin who was the war leader.

"The two ordered to withdraw. Burn the house, and go to the bunker on the mountain. Langda, you take Grandpa there, I'll take Captain Sando and the others to goa."

"What does that mean? We almost won! Just a little bit more they'll retreat from here!" refute Langda.

"No! The elder predicted it. He said that soon the bomb attacks will be more intense, and our defenses must be penetrated. The labyrinth of death was not made to withstand such an onslaught."

Langda seemed like he was going to reply to Manika's words, but he snuffed, then turned around and gave the order to retreat.

Next, a final barrage of gunfire and explosions were heard, before torches were thrown onto the roof of the house, and wooden beams doused in kerosene. Also burned to block the opponent's speed.

Captain Sando's entourage, including me, Yenz, and Leo, who had previously come out while holding Grandpa Perota, ran into the back forest. To the west, which not long ago Yenz wanted to explore.

Pass the path, then take a wooden bridge over a small river. Manika led us to a large cave on a small hill.

The black boat party entered the cave without hesitation. I think that's where the retnap manufacturing is.

My guess seems to be correct, because obviously I heard the echoes of the blasphemy of Yenz, who had entered first. I couldn't confirm it straight away, because Manika was holding myself and Leon, who was in the very back row.

"Leonal, please take care of Mr. Margo. I trust you." The teenager nodded with a big smile. "Come in first, and wait inside. I have something to talk to him about for a minute."

"All right, brother."

A moment! Since when did they get that familiar? Didn't the two almost kill each other.

"Mr ...." Manika came to me with a face together. We sat for a moment, before he glared and took something from the back of his body. "Have. This dagger is my father's legacy. I'm ...."

He fell silent with his hand flanking my fist, which was clutching his dagger.

We were silent for quite a while, until the cute-eyed girl raised her head, with a red blushing face.

A pair of little Manika hands extended around my neck. Pulling it close, until my lips can feel a sweet gentle warmth touching it.

My mind was empty, hit by a heartfelt surprise attack, from the girl with the frenzied lips.

Like just a little passing. Manika took off the next kiss. He turned his back on me after that.

"Please promise to come back. I will always wait for you." Manika ran a few meters, before turning her head back and saying, "Da-dan .. and never shave your brewpub!"

Uh ... why?
