The night passed quickly with a drizzle for a moment welcoming the morning sun. I curled up in the shade of the thick trees. Shivering, not because of the cold, but because of the sadness of loss.
That night, after throwing me across the ravine, Woofy immediately cut off the rickety suspension bridge connecting the two cliffs. He stood defiantly on the brink, to prevent the lizard army from crossing - especially the giant lizards that with small leaps were able to reach where I was.
The fight starts again. Woofy attacked more ferociously, because I who became his burden to protect had gone away from the arena of action. He lunged directly at the giant lizard, and bit his arm that was protected by iron clothes until it broke.
Another giant lizard attacked, swinging both swords, targeting the back of Woofy's body. He escaped by jumping towards the side. However, unexpectedly, a lizard whose hand was being bitten swept his horny tail and hit Woofy's head to fall.
I screamed loudly watching that.
When it's sprawled. The dozen lizard warriors, who had been preparing from the beginning to look for an opportunity to attack, charged straight at the sight of the gap.
Woofy probably heard my screams, so not waiting for long, he got up and swung his claws. It flew three lizards and sent them into the abyss. Stepping on the other two, and some of the tails became the prey of his sharp fangs.
Two giant lizards then attacked simultaneously. Woofy greeted him with a reckless attack. Targeting a lizard whose hands are bleeding. He was aiming for his long, open neck. It worked, but because of that he was also hit by a sabetage sword of a machete from the other giant lizard.
The cut wound deep. Woofy's blood spurted, covering his silver fur in red.
I cried when I saw all of that.
But that didn't make him fall. With all his might, he slammed the lizard in a snout flick towards the remaining group of lizard soldiers. Completely finish them off right then and there.
There is only one opponent left. The giant lizard whose eyes had turned red was full of anger. They face each other while walking around. Not out of sight, for the sake of finding a gap to beat the opponent.
Unexpectedly, the giant lizard suddenly lunged. He tried to gore Woofy with a horn on his head. Woofy jumped to the side, and directly bit his opponent's shoulder. But the sign did not stop. He kept running, while his hands tightly hugged Woofy's body. To take him to the ravine.
After a loud debum from the bottom of the canyon that echoed a long time ago, I only realized that Woofy could never come back. I wept. Perhaps driven by Sam's feelings, but undeniable, I, as Wanara, felt an equally great sadness.
I stared for a long time at the bottom of a deep, dark abyss. I don't know how long it will be until it finally rains. Washing my body filled with green liquid. The blood of the giant lizard that Woofy fell.
What can I do? Descending to the bottom of the ravine is very unlikely, especially after the rain that makes slippery mountain rocks on the ravine wall. With weight I turned back to continue the journey, to end this story. Isn't that what Woofy wanted.
Maybe later if there's still a chance I'll come back to see it. It might as well come down so I could see the big figure of the little dog one last time. But now I have to get to the destination even though I am still sad at heart.
I walked under the scorching sun, as if it had never been raining, until the dry clothes I was wearing. Trek the path that several times passed by horse carriages and armed groups. Makes me believe this is the right path to the Dragon's lair.
Sometimes there are people who laugh, even many who look cynically when they cross paths with me. Naturally, because it seems that I am alone - of the many people who follow me - the competition defeats the dragons - who are unprepared. Without the armor, even the weapons used against the dragon.
The bodo time. It is up to them to think what. I don't want to get dizzy. Because, to be honest, my mind has not been able to escape from Woofy. Little did he wish he was still alive after falling from a height of hundreds of meters. After all, he has supernatural powers that most dogs do not have.
Or maybe Artapatu will help him. The powerful old man was certainly easy to enter the ravine in order to save Woofy whom he had considered a friend. Hope is empty actually. Know, even though the person is powerful, but that does not mean he is omniscient.
I kept thinking about it, until it had unknowingly arrived at a large field that stood many tents of various shapes, types, and sizes. The temporary residence of the participants of the competition, which I believe numbered in the hundreds.
In any of the squares stands a large castle with four high towers on its sides - two of which are already missing. It looked so haughty that it emitted a dark aura like in an old abandoned house. With so many broken and broken parts here and there. The broken walls, and the hollow roof, were clearly visible from where I stood.
Seeing all that, I became absolutely certain that this is where the dragon dwells. The mastermind of Asaru's daughter's abduction a few weeks ago. Somehow his fate is now.
I walked past the tent of the warriors. I mean to take a quick look near the old castle. Still, cynical spies and whispers were directing to address me. Hey, what's wrong with me being like this? Don't you guys have the same intentions as me?
Wuk!
I flicked my steps to stop. Shocked to see the sharp blade hovering right in front. The shiny sword of a large, muscular man with many traces of codetan was facing me.
"What do you want, huh!? This is where warriors risk their lives for glory. Not a fishy-smelling foul-smelling loot who seeks profit by stealing from the holy corpses of warriors!"
What say? Ok, for the fishy smell I admit that there are still traces left even though it was rained down. But what does that mean for looters? That's called defamation!
"Hey ... w-what do you mean by accusing me of that? I'm just like you guys. Mau .. want to defeat the dragon and save Princess Asaru," I replied, though somewhat afraid of the tip of the sword getting closer.
"Not much of your talk! Criminals who would confess. You better get out of here now, before I make chopped meat!" The threat he gave was really serious.
Cheers sounded muffled with ridicule to me. Hate from unfounded assumptions. A cruel accusation from those who do not know me at all!
"Hey, Goddamn! If you're not a plunder who's trying to steal from a dead body, now you're trying to prove it! Where's your war clothes, huh? Don't tell me that fishy smelly shirt you used to make the dragon vomit, before you poked his eyes with your fingers!" chirps of a thin bearded bald man. Laughter by people around.
"If you want to cheat, you better be a little smarter. Confessing the warrior I contested the dragon, but neither weapon had. Only a fool would believe your stupid lies! Just go home there you are, before we finish." after a teased teenager, who immediately ignored everything.
Emotions peak. Because of that they harassed me and accused me of cruelty. A gun? I have a stone knife in the bag given by the magic ascetic. A weapon that (maybe) can defeat that damn dragon!
After all, if there were a Woofy here, the combined strength of all of you would be nothing. He will bulldoze you with only a flick of his tail.
"You still dare!? Then die here!" The man with the face raised his hand high. Shake up, get ready to draw a sword at me.
I'm riveted. Honestly scared, but that doesn't mean I don't dare to fight him. After a series of creepy events that several times almost claimed lives, the serious crack of the muscular man did not scare me. Although aware, there is a possibility that other friends will come to help and gang up on me.
I looked at him with squinted eyes. Putting up the horses with both hands clenched - like the one I saw in a kung fu movie. Be prepared to challenge his threat.
Go ahead!
