[Chapter 17-2] From Oasis Towards Lapalasa

Can I cuss?

If I may, I'd like to spray that brat! Yes, the Yenz.

How not to be upset. He watered my sleeping face. Making waves, so I thought I was drowning in an oasis, because I was having sleepwalking.

Already so, instead of apologizing, he laughed out loud. Pity it!

In the cold desert blind morning, with a drenched upper body, it certainly made me shiver. Fortunately, Mr. Lapo kindly gave her a glass of warm tea, and a plate of delicious lizard meat stir-fry.

After we finished our breakfast and prepared, including cleaning up all the rest of the camp last night, though with my heart still prying, I, along with Mr. Lapo and the jerk Yenz, left from there. Continue the journey to Lapalasa City, which is no longer far.

The phrase "Not far away" spoken by Mr. Lapo, was not as I expected. Two hours we walked, from sunrise, with a break, but it was only half the way.

Maybe Mr. Lapo meant, "It's not far to use a car, not a horse." So certain.

During the trip, I didn't talk to Yenz, even though I was piggybacked on a brown horse. Still upset with the mess this morning.

Not because I care about her, but more because her behavior made me think of my mother. Yeah, the way he woke me up, just like you did not too long ago.

Indeed, if according to Wanara, time in this world moves faster than our home world. But still, I've been here for days, without knowing the actual direction of destination to take. I miss mom.

Like I'm teasing you, Yenz suddenly laughed. But, there's no way, right, he can read minds.

"Why are you laughing?" my many.

"It's okay. I only remember when we rode a horse like this. In the desert, having escaped from a Borex cull. You frowned all the way. Just like now." Yenz giggles.

"Damn it! You shitty guy!" my macu.

"You're the one who's over-flavored" said Yenz. Runaway.

It's really annoying that big-lipped guy. But to be honest, without him, maybe my journey was over from the beginning.

For a moment I thought about a question he had not answered. About the strange thing in Jarless City, which he did not continue because of the arrival of Mr. Lapo. I was curious, even though it was past in the back.

"Yenz. Remember that weird thing you didn't say when we were at the motel?"

Yenz was silent for a moment before saying, "Yes. Indeed why?"

"What exactly is this weird thing you mean?"

"God! You're still unconscious until now? Use your brains, Marg!"

This guy, when the hell can keep his lips! I like to piss people off.

"You want to answer or not, huh!?"

Yenz laughed so loosely. I am happy to see you upset. "So, Marg. From the beginning we entered that place alone, you should have been suspicious. A town in a remote place, filled only by men, with very miserable and unkempt conditions. How do you think?"

I frowned. Trying to think about connecting the clues from Yenz.

"There was no woman there. That so?"

Yenz sighed at my answer.

"Oh come. Just say it as clearly as possible, don't even go around in circles."

"OKs. Listen carefully! First, for a remote town like Jarless, it should have a population with a communal nature. Mutually depend on each other, and form mutually agreed rules. Because without it, a city with structured and orderly buildings, it is impossible to wake up. Remind me, how is Jarless composed? It is impossible to be made by eleven haphazard people like them. At least it's a reot hut that's there, if it's really the mules that make it."

I nodded small. Agree with what Yenz said.

"second. In addition to lodging and places of worship, the building that is there, made with a size greater than the size of normal occupancy, which is only occupied by one person or family. Although I have never seen it, I am sure, the building is inhabited by a group of people. But, from what we see, there are only eleven irresponsible people living there."

I'm more interested in the description of Yenz.

"Three. For a city built together, the place was completely unkempt. Common sense, it is very unlikely, for the people who have struggled to build their city, will abandon it. Unless something big happened."

I can't argue with Yenz's analysis.

"Fourth. If we think using common sense, a city with residents in it, it is impossible to rely only on a motel as income. What else is that place in a remote area. It will be very difficult to get a visitor as a guest. There must be other jobs such as traders, gardening, or maybe farming, to be able to meet the needs of the city and the people in it. But the men of Twisky, they were all day long, without doing any work."

If I remember, there is a point as well.

"last. Mr. Lapo is different from all of them, following his fears when dealing with Twisky, and the conditions in the motel are very inversely proportional to the overall contents of the city. That alone is actually enough to arouse suspicion, if something goes wrong in Jarless' town."

I slowly nodded while nodding. Understand now with the strange intent that Yenz says, and perhaps the same understanding with the odd that Mr. Lapo said, when I thought of him as the ghost of the motel occupant.

"You're great at being able to analyze and know things like that. I can't believe you're smart either."

"I'm not smart. The one who wants to use his brain, will be suspicious from the start when he enters the city."

Yes too. The town of Jarless has been suspicious since we first entered it. But ... wait a minute!

"Your word was about ’use that bakan’ you pointed at me, huh!? How insolent of you!"

Yenz chuckled softly. "You're just being too emotional, man. Well, even if you're supposed to start learning to think more carefully."

That's called disguised humiliation! It's brazen this lambe kemayu!

From there I began to argue, which actually made us struggle, to make the chocolate neigh upset.

"Enough! You forget, last time like this, we fell off a horse" said Yenz, as I pinched his neck.

He could reason. Though I'm sure it's just a way to escape from my lockdown. But I'm sorry, I won't let go until she apologizes.

"Quite a joke, gentlemen. The atmosphere is in sight. Be happy, and make sure your face is not visible. There are many officers patrolling the big trading city of Vajal's country."

From distance. I stared at the sparkling city surrounded by the white walls. Vegetables can be heard the sound of gulls, and the waves pounding. A port city as well as trade, which many visited by ships and people, from various countries and islands across.

"Can you get out now this lock on my neck?" ask Yenz. "You thou hast tormented my nose!"

Damn the kemayu lambe! Instead of trying to apologize, this is even further insulting!

We struggled again, until finally, the Brown who might have been upset - because his back was made into an arena of quarrels - soared loudly while neighing. Back we both fell off the mounts of those ungodly animals.

We were in pain, the brash Brown breezed on nonchalantly, and Mr. Lapo laughed out loud.

Damn indeed!
