Magical Adventure Book
[Chapter 46-2] The Justice Theatre

With my hands and body bound, I was herded like an animal. Remember when the violent bandits ambushed, caught, and dragged me by horse for their pleasure.

Indeed, this time it was not cruel, but still embarrassing, when having to walk in the middle of the crowd, who looked with a variety of expressions.

Confused, astonished, full of questions, and the majority contained harassing insults. All are on me.

I was taken to a tall roofed building of marble. On either side was a huge refuting pole, which engraved the figure of a man raising a large shield. The shape of the triangle is divided into five parts.

No need to guess what this place really is. Because, right above the double door of the building, it clearly says "Lasto State Court Building Velbar Island."

Turn. Once in the courtroom, with a row of benches on the left right forming a street - where visitors watch the trial path - and a table high above the steps where the judge is located at the end of the room, I was immediately put in the cage, which was on the left side of the courtroom.

Very inhumane! What do you think I'm a gorilla? Yes, indeed Margo has a lot of feathers all over her body, but dare to swear to God, if this person is one hundred percent human!

There were two more hours I was in the cage. No food at all, not even a glass of water. I was tormented physically and mentally, which grew as the door of the court opened.

The visitors came in with eyes, and looked down on me. Not to mention when the old judge came with his two auxiliary judges. He swore at me with a rude gesture. Time and time again, as if I were the most depraved criminal in the world.

From there I came to understand the words of Pud’e while in his wooden house. The forest that I entered by accident was a forbidden part, where it was not allowed to do taboo things like killing. Even during the war of the Ratafu Tribe rebellion, it is strictly forbidden to kill there. It can make the gods angry, he said.

But the problem is that I don't kill at all! I'm the one who wants to be killed by that klimis gungkring!

Want me to defend myself and deny their false accusations. But, for God's sake! This is the most ridiculous trial I've ever known.

I never actually attended court. After all, I doubt that my age is allowed in to see it. However, from the many films I watched, it was clear how the court process went.

Starting from the reading of cases, indictments, then presenting witnesses and evidence, the actions of prosecutors and lawyers who attack each other using arguments, and various other things, as well as various other things, until it ends with the verdict of the jury and the judge.

That's how it should. However, here the court hearing goes as well as his will. Starting from the arrival of witnesses, which I did not recognize at all, even some I have never met, until the appointment of evidence, which I know must have been made up.

More ridiculous, between the testimony of one person and another, some collide. Si A said that seeing me go into the woods brought a dog - a dog that didn't know who belonged to who was taken to the courtroom - to track down Mr. Mashet who was in the woods.

On another occasion, witness B said that I entered the forest with Mr. Mashet, and said he saw me holding a gun behind the skinny man.

Silly, when my Revolver was brought in, he seemed confused, because the description of the weapon he gave, was far different from the evidence.

Worse, about the way the body was found, there was nothing similar.

The craziest is the story of witness C, who says the corpse itself walked out of the forest, while continuing to speak for justice. They believed that it was possible because of the power of the god who guided him.

Crazy indeed!

Want me to deny all those ridiculous accusations, but what to say. Let alone lawyers, even the opportunity to speak in self-defense was not given.

Then why is there a court of this! Waste tax money, which I know they take from the original citizens of this island arbitrarily.

Only one person dared to ask for justice for me. Yenz who several times dared to open his voice to squeeze the course of the court process. Up in the middle of this cheap drama, he was forcibly herded out of the courtroom by the guards.

The culmination of this parochial play is, when the body of Mr. Mashet is presented that has been stiff and issued a foul odor. Success makes some people in the courtroom nausea to vomiting. Including myself.

Swear to God! From what I saw and the prosecutor's description, there's no way I could have done such a cruel act!

What kind of person is capable of that?

Pud'e thinks of him as the mastermind. But, is it possible? While he himself said about the customary law of the island, which does not allow killing humans.

Don't know it! Look, it's the Maschet who's acting good, but it turns out to be a cold-blooded hit man. Could Pud’e also do that? But what's the purpose?

As you guys thought. After all the theatrics and evil entanglements, a unanimous decision was taken. The judge hammered after declaring me guilty, and will receive the death penalty in the town square. Executed by hanging.

I limp when I listen to it. Expectant to think of my fate here, who will die on the gallows. How will it be later? Am I really going to die, or go straight back to the original world?

Good Lord! Why is this my fate?

I was taken out of the court hearing, with many angry and dislike gazes from the trial visitors.

However, the most painful thing was when I saw Leo. The brash jamet, kept smiling at me. It was as if he was satisfied with the fate I had.

The insolent! Just like anj*ing him next to Falcoa. A faithful pet accompanies his master, from the moment the court begins.

The vow! Seeing Leo's behavior, my heart really hurt. It hurts more than the wounds on my stomach and legs, which are still not dry.

So this is how it feels to be betrayed. I cried unbearably because of it all. No matter what the two officers who beat me up like an animal. I just felt the pain in my heart that was so incredibly stifling. Meanwhile, these eyes cannot escape the mocking grin, which Leo develops without feeling.

***

Inside this damp, rancid-smelling holding room I was stuck. Next to a sheet of mattress full of fleas, which I was very reluctant to occupy. Stare blankly at a tray filled with hard bread, diluted porridge, and a glass of brackish water, which is next to a black-brown crusty potty.

I pegged without the desire to move a inch. Still feel the pain in the heart, which is increasingly becoming in the midst of the dimness of the prison, with only a torch outside the bars as a light.

I don't know how long I've been here. Don't know, and don't want to know. Even hoping that time will stop, or maybe back away. For the sake of changing the course of the story in this cursed book.

Ah, if only I had heard Wanara's talk, and not curious about Tama's gift book, certainly not this is the end.

The sound of the unlocking key sounded from the prison hallway. Is the time for my execution?

A black-clothed figure with a matching colored mask, which only showed his eyes, was seen stopping in front of my cell.

Is he the executioner who will execute me?

In the dim light, he reached into his pants pocket. Took something, which he then threw into the thin bed of a flea nest next to me.

That was all he did, then left without saying anything more. Plucking a momentary curiosity, swept away the despair covered in heartache.

Objects lying on the mattress buluk, shaped Pouches of dark brown cloth. A container that holds a piece of paper contains neat handwriting, along with a small bottle with a cork plug, which contains a thick liquid of glowing blue.

Clearly who that person was. From handwriting, and a small bottle filled with magic liquid. Despite not being able to confirm his true figure in the dim light of the basement, I believe that person is Yenz.

On the piece of paper he gave, there must have been a genius instruction from him, one that could free me from the gallows.

Thank you, my friend! If I could, I would have hugged you!
