IN THE CAGE
84. ARCELIO HUNTER'S WEAKNESS

...NORMAL pov...

...----------------...

"You're coming" Jem said as he watched Evan Caspian's irritating face appear in front of his room.

Although greeted with great warmth by Jem, Evan put on a relaxed expression. He kept going in and put a basket of fruit he bought on the way to the table. Evan's eyes rolled briefly to Jem's room, which had a sharp aroma like antiseptic and citrus. He glanced left and right bored before approaching a bench located near Jem's bed.

"I heard Jemaine Emery was injured, of course I have to visit." Evan smiled thinly. "You look ugly, by the way."

"Thank you for the information." Jem comforts his lying position with a roaring breath of pain. He grimaced for a moment and immediately raised his hand as Evan was about to channel the aid.

"No need to be kind, Evan."

"You don't have to hesitate, you idiot." Evan crossed his legs. "You're lucky to be alive today. I'm surprised Ace didn't kill you right away."

"Think of your own business."

"I thought about my own business, so I came here." said Evan, his eyes glaring at Jem's face which was now plastered with bandages and plaster here and there. Blackened bruises were clearly visible on his cheeks that were not covered in bandages. That must have been very painful. "I've had enough with Ace, so I'm here."

"Tsk. Didn't you learn from my situation?"

"The only thing I've learned is not to act like you, stupid."

"Whisper!"

"So, tell me.., what did you do to get Ace so sorry and finish you off?"

"Why are you interested?" Jem looked at Evan's expression and although the pain felt on his lips, he chuckled. "Evan, oh, Evan."

"Is there anything wrong with a little gossip?"

"It's wrong that you think you can use me to try Ace. Goddamnit!" Jem glanced at Evan with one eye, "You are no different than Ace in my eyes, Evan. You're just as bad as him."

"Well, you might have a point. Me and Ace are pretty bad and pretty good at you and Anggara, that makes us a threat to your position, doesn't it?" Evan was wrong. But hearing his words was very annoying for Jem.

"Honestly, I don't have any serious problems with Ace. But, how to say it yes..., having four people as leaders sounds a bit outdated, right? If we keep competing at the back, trying to knock each other down, why not just do it in front? I'm trying to do that now. I'm trying to get rid of Ace." Evan spoke at length.

"..."

"Eat him, from that I want you to help me. You've also been this severe, taking his side won't help you at all. How about using me to take revenge on him?"

"Huhaha...." Jem laughed until Ace's punch marks on his body again hurt. "Crazy, huh? If I wanted to work together, I'd have been with you for a long time, Evan. The thing is, I didn't choose you at all. You must have known the answer from the beginning, right? Because I can't believe you're gonna win against Ace."

"You're still talking high about Ace after being battered like this?"

"I'm not praising you, but he is indeed superior to you." Jem eased his laughter and sighed. "You can't win from him Evan, Ace will come to you. Hunting you."

"I know he's coming for me, but to beat me, that's a far-fetched assumption."

"You picked the wrong opponent, you shouldn't have killed Ace's parents, Evan."

"I don't know what you're saying" Evan let out a bored sigh. "After all, I didn't kill Ace's parents."

"Still denying it?"

"I'm speaking honestly." The curly girly man smiled wryly. "I'm leaving now, very disappointing because you've already rejected my cooperation."

"Even if I'm greedy, Van. I'm still thinking about my family, I don't want them to run out of Ace's hands just because of my grudge."

"That's noble to you." Evan stood up from his stool and shook off the black suit he was wearing to the back. "May's get well soon, Jem."

"Ah.., right too..," just before Evan turned his steps towards the door, Jem again made a sound. In the frailness of his body and the weight of his head, he forced himself to lift his body to sit.

"Take this my thanks to your parcel" said Jem.

"Actually, if you're smart enough, Ace's weakness is already in your grasp."

"Huh?"

"Thank you to me."

...----------------...

Ace's Weakness?

"Wait a minute, Miss Indira. I'll get you some juice ah---" Fawn screeched when she finished closing the door, her body directly bumping into Evan Caspian who was two steps behind her.

"Mr Evaan?" Fawn protested without being able to resist her intonation.

"You hit me, Fawn." Evan gave a warning to his wife's bodyguard. "You should be careful."

"Pardon me, Mr. Evan. We're very busy tonight." Fawn shakes forcefully. Today, he had been working all day to his foot level stepping automatically before his head thought about where to go. It's like a robot, a robot!

"What are you busy with, really?"

"Oh, we're preparing a party for Mr. Callum's birthday."

"I think Anggara takes full responsibility for his preparations?"

"It's a different preparation, Mr. Evan. Mr. Evan will find out after talking to Ms. Indi. Oh, then.., I'm back of the du-"

"Wait, Fawn..." Evan suddenly remembered something. "Aren't you the bodyguard Anggara chose to replace Indira on our wedding day?"

"..." - ".Goddamnit!

Fawn forced another wide smile. "Yes, Mr. Evan."

"I thought you were already.." dead. "What's going on?"

"Ah-ahahahaha, I ran away...self? Y-yes, right. I escaped Mr. Evan." Fawn didn't know how to lie in front of this guy. Evan Caspian is a figure that he does not recognize at all his identity. He was mysterious and terrifying like a snake.

"Running away?" evan's eyebrows raised next to. "That's amazing. Aren't the people who kidnapped you Ace's men?"

"..." - ".Damn it, and he sent me to the lion's den! Fawn wanted to curse Evan in front of his face straight away. Fucking bastards. He's been framed and sent to die by this savage man!

"I didn't know they were Mr Ace's people, what do you mean?" Right, the only solution now is to pretend to be stupid. "What did Mr Evan mean, it was Mr Ace who was going to kidnap me at that time? Does Miss Indira know?"

"No, no." Evan immediately shook his hand. "I'm just guessing. There's nothing like it, Fawn. You better forget what I said."

Fawn stared at Evan's back that passed from before him with a sharp delicacy. That fucker was really terrible. He's as bad as a Jemaine Emery.

"If it wasn't for Anggara's boss, I wouldn't have been here." Fawn muttered to herself. Swallowing the frustration that culminates because of the new facts he knows.

This situation is really bad, getting worse with all his knowledge now. In the past, with bodo very against the situation that occurred, Fawn felt fine for all the conditions he faced. But now, after he understood Ace, knowing Ace. It was hard to pretend to be stupid with all the disgusting things happening before his eyes.

Evan enters Indira's room and sees the rolling rags unraveling on the floor.

"What's going on here?" tanyakanya.

"I'm choosing the ingredients for my dress later. After all, it's the first time I've left the Caspian mansion after being locked up for two months here."

"Is this necessary?" Evan doesn't understand women, seriously.

"It's necessary, Evan. I am your wife, I must look more beautiful and more charming than any other woman. Also, it's my dad's birthday."

"Hmmm, if that's what you want. I won't mind." Evan sauntered towards Indira's bed and watched his wife who was now standing in front of the mirror, monitoring her reflection which was now rolled up by a pink cloth. A tailor man from the capital helped him.

"You've been so busy lately, I've had a hard time meeting you." Indira spoke again.

"Is there anything you want to say?"

"Of course there is..." Indira turned to look at Evan for a moment and smiled. "Do you know what happened to Anggara lately?"

"Yes?"

"I'm just curious..."

"What happened to her?" ask Evan.

"Nothing, I think he's getting more mystical."

Honestly, Evan did not pay much attention to Anggara. More recently, when the business is in turmoil. The only thing Evan focuses on is work and work, he does not remember having a meeting with Anggara. Don't remember that man ever called her either.

Right, where's Anggara now?

Evan wondered while staring out the window, at the blackened night sky out there.
