In this world, there were four large corporations standing side by side with extremely domineering and irritating forces. The company was denoted as four-card-Spades, Diamond, Heart and Clubs. Each of the heads of the company established a friendly relationship that from the outside, looks very beautiful and makes people outside their social circle envious.
What people do not know, behind the familiarity displayed in public, they are pointing weapons behind each other's heads. Waiting for who's faster to pull the trigger. Who will be the opponent, friend and victim.
The friendship of the four families continued to run peacefully until now, until someone tried to escape from the circle of hypocrisy.
"This marriage is a must, Indira." Anggara Rashid - the head of the Spades-speaking company - talks to Indira Rashid, his sister.
"If you don't marry Evan, our family will be swallowed up by the Hunter family. You know since Ace's leadership at Diamond, they've become so out of control, haven't you?"
Indira sighed. Sooner or later, his marriage to Evan will happen. But, he did not expect that his heart would feel unusually heavy.
"Is there no other way?" Evan is Indira's best friend, as is Ace. Indira does not want this marriage will make her friendship with the two men stretch. Ace would probably hate it.
"Unless you want our family to go bankrupt, Indira. You better stop worrying about your friendship with Ace."
Anggara got up from the red velvet sofa and threw his gaze at Fawn - his sister's personal assistant who was standing still behind the sofa.
"Fawn, come with me." Anggara turned his back without having to turn his head towards Fawn at all. He knew-without repeating the word, Fawn would obey him.
"What's up, Mister?" Fawn asked after he retraced out of Indira's room. His eyes shone on Anggara's back, waiting for an answer from his master who was now standing quietly in front of the glass window.
"This marriage has to happen, Fawn." Anggara's remarks made Fawn somewhat confused.
He knew this cooperative marriage was a very meaningful thing for the survival of the Rashid family and the Caspian family. But, which Fawn did not understand, why did Anggara discuss this topic to her?
"Tell me, Fawn, if I asked for your life today, would you give it to me?" anggara's question made Fawn widen her eyes.
Fawnia Alder-girl in a black suit and white shirt set a step forward in front of Anggara. His eyes sparkled brightly-indicating seriousness.
"I'll give my life for Rashid's family, that's my vow in this job."
Fawn looked Anggara fixedly in the eyes. He will not falter even when a gun is pointed at his forehead. Ready to blow his head off. He will not blink, will not tremble at his feet, will not pull his vow.
When Rashid's family took care of his sickly mother, funded his education, and guaranteed him a comfortable life, Fawn vowed, after finishing his education he would devote his life to this family. Fawn willingly gave up her life for those who had protected her kept warm when she and her mother did not have a roof over her head.
Fawn had no regrets at all.
"You're very loyal, Fawn." Anggara dropped the gun. A faint smile on his handsome face. "I'm glad to know Indira has a figure like you by her side."
"My loyalty has not been comparable to the virtues Rashid's family has given me" Fawn said.
"Then can I expect one thing from you?" Anggara approached Indira, eyes scanning every curve of his body. "You and Indira aren't much different, huh?"
"Y-yes?"
"I have one mission for you, Fawn." The corner of Anggara's lips is drawn to form a thin grin.
That mission was a suicide mission.
When Anggara questioned his loyalty, Fawn knew he would be used like a pawn on the Anggara chessboard. He will be a victim, he will meet death.
Fawn is well aware that the marriage of Indira and Evan Cassian must take place. Even if it means he has to die. Fawn understands this suicide mission, and he is willing to sacrifice his life for Rashid's family to be saved.
He was willing to die.
But, why..,., though...,
"Fuck up!"
Two weeks later.
With her hands firmly tied, Fawn sat down in front of a man she knew. The man who cornered Rashid's family. The man who was a great enemy of the Rashid family.
Arcelio Hunter's.
Ace.
This man was the leader of the largest giant corporation in the North-Diamond Corporation. The company that made the other three giant companies looked like dwarves at his feet. He was the main successor of Diamond Corp, a man famous for his madness. The Hunter family has gone wild since Ace stepped in to replace his father who died mysteriously.
In Fawn's eyes, the man was the most dangerous man among the other four company leaders. Ace often met Indira before in the main house, and whenever they met, Fawn who was guarding Indira always felt uncomfortable near the man.
Now, faced back with the man he always remembered as his master's enemy, Fawn cringed in his bones.
Ace is so inexhaustible, the five people he trusts most in his ability-disappointing him. How could they catch people wrong?
This girl-the girl who was now curled up in front of him with her vigilant deer eyes, was Indira's assistant. Ace recognized him, knew it. He is Fawn. Ace often sees the girl next to Indira.
"I'm sorry, Boss. It seems our movements have been predicted. They set a trap and used this girl as a trap." Carsel Jordi-bodyguard Trusted Ace raised his head timidly.
"uh? So you're saying, they're expecting me to kidnap their young lady so they're using this girl as a trap?" Ace sauntered towards Fawn. The tip of her shoe was raised and anchored to Fawn's chin, forcing the girl's face to look up at him.
"Say, Fawn. Are you really willing to be bait for the Rashid family knowing this is a suicide mission? You're gonna die, you know?" Ace crouched down in front of Fawn. Staring into the girl's eyes that reminded her of a wounded deer.
"Death is my devotion to the Rashid family" Fawn replied. In his heart, Fawn felt relieved this mission had succeeded. That is, far out there, the marriage of Indira has been done. Rashid's family was saved thanks to his sacrifice.
"You moved me, let's see how far your loyalty will go in the face of death." Ace stood up, took the gun out of Carcel's hand, and without consideration brandished it before Fawn.
Again, complained Fawn. Again with a gun.
He's really gonna die, huh? Huh. If only he had time to eat his favorite spicy crab.
The girl's eyes widened. But, even though the weapon was already in front of his nose, the pink lips were still tightly clenched. There was no plea out of his lips, no regret. It's breathtaking. Ace is fascinated by the blind loyalty shown by Indira's personal bodyguard.
"Do you have your last words?"
Ace was stalling while his eyes stared at Fawn's pair of calm brown irises. There were no ripples of fear or nervousness in his eyes. Only a soldier would die for his master.
"Don't waste your time, kill me!"
A second after Fawn said her last words, a bullet rippled out from the tip of the gun that was triggered by the bastard man in front of her.
Bang out!
The sound of the sound of the sound of the sound of the sound of the explosion raised his ears.
Fawn's heart stopped beating for a moment. He thought he was dead at that moment. But...
"Dull," the bullet crossed his ear, falling on the concrete ground behind him. Ace-si shooter-cranked Fawn's long bangs with his gun.
"I changed my mind" Ace said.
His words confused the entire room.
"Boss, what do you mean?"
Ace hands Carsel's gun back to Carsel. His eyes glanced lowly at Fawn who was still pensive and stunned at the death that had just passed by him. Fawn did not think she was still breathing after the sound of the bullet whirring across her ear.
In the cheap wedding dress Anggara bought for her as a disguise, Fawn looked at Ace who was now grinning like a demon.
"You should have killed me" cried Fawn. He came here ready to die. He was ready to greet his death. He does not want anything else, he does not want salvation or a little mercy. No. gabe.
A man like Ace could not possibly sympathize with him.
What do you want that guy?
"Where's the pleasure if I kill you?" Ace answered Fawn in a light tone.
"You psychopath!"
"I know."
Was Ace planning to torture him before killing him? selling organs? Fawn was goosebumps in fear she had never felt before. He was afraid of his ignorance. Ace's alienation and mysteriousness was something that made the man feel dangerous.
"Don't be afraid" said Ace once again. "You'll be my entertainment for a while."
"Entertainment-hi-what? What do you mean entertainment? Hey!" Fawn shouted while thrashing as Ace's bodyguard again pulled him to his feet. "Let go of me, what do you want!"
Ace did not respond to Fawn's screams. He simply threw a glance at Carcel and called out a command that made the bodyguard gulp.
"Take him to my room!"
